A coworker of mine worked 50+ hour weeks without a raise or a full time contract. Workload is massive and unfair for $16/hr. They mostly hire young people that they can manipulate easily, especially for the shows. When 8 people phone in sick after teardown, there is obviously a core problem in the company but you just laughed. The owners create an extremely suppressive environment. They gaslight, victim blame, lie, gossip, lovebomb, micromanage, avoid reflection, and never take accountability. There is no diversity, safety or trust, but there is a constant fear of retribution. It makes you wonder why there's no HR department. They use fear as motivation as the rules only exist to keep us in line. They are microaggressive and expect workaholic behaviour but provide no opportunities of forward movement. There is immense leadership gossip and favouritism. Regular employees are not allowed boundaries. The owners are malicious and secretive. They insist on silence as employees are on a need to know basis. We are not to discuss wages, hour cuts, contracts, and/or red flags or we will be punished. They gossip about former employees and even harassed one and used it to blackmail them. They lie about pricing and overcharge people and expect us not to tell them, and they create fake sales for profit. They lie about unethical sourcing to customers and employees. They undermine serious health hazards on a daily basis. One coworkers hours were cut to one day a week after she claimed WCB when a product fell on her head causing a concussion, and another coworker got blood poisoning from their failure to explain the risks of lead-based minerals. The owners spend the majority of their time managing their ego over their vision, and personal interest always comes before collective good. They told us the store was losing money so they had to pay us out of their savings, but can afford to buy a house and a boat on Vancouver Island and a helicopter. They intentionally use unclear communication to cover their own disorganization and to place the blame elsewhere. These people need their business license revoked for abusing their entire workforce. Even the customers are beginning to notice their arrogance and disrespect whenever they meet them. I am truly disgusted with this company's practices and will rejoice when they are finally closed indefinitely.

The entire time I was with the consultant I was saying that I didn't want a white dress. However, when I received the dress it was completely white and I felt pushed out of the store and told that the dress only came in one color. Believing it might have been the lighting I left the store since they were not helping me. When I got home and did some research I realized that there was in fact 2 colors. I didn't understand that "LATTE" was the color of the dress I tried on and simply signed the contract with the color "IVORY." I told the consultant that the sample dress I tried on was what I wanted and when she gave me the contract stating Ivory, I believed that was the color of the sample dress. When I made a complaint to the store, the manager didn't make any arrangements to meet with me face to face. She said it was my responsibility as a customer to review the contract with the consultant. After countless emails back and forth I decided to keep the dress and pay for alternations myself to put in a smoke colored lining. They did not offer a suitable solution. Prices were crazy around town ($40-$45), but Village Goldsmith was much more reasonable at $25 for my silver rings (Yes! He even resizes silver!) & $30 for my white gold rings. The Goldsmith was very friendly & extremely efficient, & his work was impeccable. I feel like I have brand new rings! I will tell all my friends to go to him first, if they ever need any work done on their jewelry. Unfortunately, his shop is tucked away in the Village Mall & not easy to spot. Look for the huge sign in the corner for Blarney Stone Pub & Restaurant, directly below it you will see the word Goldsmith. The store was very busy with the sale, but the ladies working there made me feel like I was the only bride they were helping. After trying on my third dress, and asking what it was I liked/didn't like, the lady helping me lit up and said "I know the PERFECT dress for you!" and off she ran. She came back a moment later with the dress. She was right - it fit like a dream, and gave me shivers! I did not want to take it off. Even though they were busy and could have used the change room, they gave me all the time I needed and never once rushed me. I was able to spin and admire myself in the mirror as much as I wanted to. I had always bought cheaper shoes when they go on sale at the departments stores. Jury is still out on the shoes (although early reviews are positive), but I found the store service really good. I wasn't sure what I wanted to buy, the salesman who also happens to be the owner was great at educating me on the product and how to care for them using items around the house instead of trying to up-sell me.

Then the stitching under the arm of the suit came out and the sleeve started to fall off, again not willing to fix for free as he said it was my fault. Now it was only a $700 suite but please what a joke. Then mt wife bought me a pair of pants from there and went to return them 7 weeks later as they were a gift and he said i couldn't as he no longer caries that line so sorry. So I have a pair of $270 pants that are too small and I can't wear. So i have spent over $1200 in this store and have nothing to show for it other then some rags and a bad taste in my mouth...........avoid this place at all costs!
