Our family is enrolled in Parkhurst Academy (formally known as Community Christian). We have 3 students enrolled in Kindergarten, 6th and 8th grades. We used public schools for many years and my students did well academically but there were social and environmental issues I was not comfortable with. After getting frustrated with the public school system we tried virtual school for one year but the students lacked social life and were bored. We then began pursuing a christian school. After talking with many parents at our church and hearing such good things from so many people about Parkhurst we enrolled them for the current school term. My girls were so happy after the first day of school and realized all the anxiety, fear and worry was in vain. They all made many friends those first few days and enjoyed getting to know many teachers and the school routine. Every day when I pick them up they are ALL happy and talk endlessly about everything that happened each day. They are happy to do their homework, and I love the bible class in addition to regular subjects! As a parent and a Christian it warms my heart and gives me so much joy to know my girls are in a safe, healthy and positive environment. The teachers, faculty and staff all see the good in the kids and work with them to push them to reach their full potential. Horrible school, bad teachers, rude staff, ect. Was talking to my child's friend's parents and they said that once they removed them they called gilt tripping and trying to convince them to come back. They sent me my financial agreement a month late then charged me a late fee, charging 500 dollars for music theatre when it was only 200 last year, put my child in a class without my permission (the class is charging 200 and didn't let us know), staff favors students (for example student was being racist and they said it was the other students fault and that if it was their friend that said "but if your friend said it to you it would be okay right." Absolutely Do NOT come to this school it's so horrible. There are 2 male teachers that are creeps, 1 looks at the girls butts and the other one calls the girls cute and stares under their skirts while they go up the stairs. The website might say it's an "A" school but since they are an independent school they get to choose how they want it to look. The teachers make the students participate in spelling bee's and geography bowls so they can take pictures for the website and make themselves look good. read more

This school is amazing and the safest in Brevard County! For such a small school it accomplishes so much. If you want a faith based education that accepts everyone and cares about your child's educational growth this is the school! I have 3 kids in this school. They are all excelling. I have kids in both mainstream and ESP programs and when I tell you this school is run with love it's such an understatement. My child who struggled in Public school is excelling in this Private school. We do not regret our decision. It is not a robotic regime others have played it out to be, my kids were in a robotic school previously and this is no where near that. Every child is treated with respect and taught life skills along with a rich well rounded education. Their curriculum is challenging, however the teachers take their time to really teach their kids in the ways that they learn. Happy to be part of this amazing school! read more

My grandson just began his 4th year at Parkhurst. He is enrolled in their Adaptive Learning Program as he has ADHD and is on the Autism Spectrum. As a former educator, I was heartbroken to find that there were so few schools that could offer a specialized program for students with special needs. Parkhurst has provided not only an excellent academic program tailored to his needs, but it is presented in a safe, loving, Christian atmosphere. Both the teachers and the administrators are well-trained, compassionate educators. Now in 6th Grade, it is our goal for him to continue his academic career at Parkhurst, graduate and, through the education he has been afforded by Parkhurst, go on to college. read more

My kids and I are in our third year at Parkhurst Academy (formerly Community Christian School) and we are very happy with the school. (In full disclosure, I have a middle school student and an elementary student, and I am a teacher at the school.) It has grown immensely in the past few years with a new building that houses more than triple the number of students from just four years ago. Parkhurst offers my children an excellent education with a sound Biblical foundation, a growing sports program, and teachers and administrators that are truly invested in seeing students succeed and thrive in school and beyond. I have 3 kids that goes to Parkhurst. My middle one is austistic, and I can't tell you enough about how great it has been since we made the decision to enroll the kids 2 years ago. The teachers have been so patient and communicative with us, helping our family every step of the way. These teachers absolutely love my kids and it shows everyday. My children are excited to go to school, and we all know that's not normal. The staff is awesome! We are so thrilled to be part of this phenomenal school! I have two kids in the AL program and one in Traditional. I can say with confidence that my kids are being taught according to how they learn and thriving as a result! It's not a cookie cutter kind of school it breaks the mold! My children have also been excited to learn about scripture daily, they come home excited to share what they have learned for the day. This school is amazing! I have attended for almost two years and it has been the best learning experience I have received in a school setting. The teachers give 101 help, and are 100% focused on your success! School events are fun to participate in, the sports teams have awesome uniforms, fine art productions are done excellently, and there is a variety of student clubs to participate in. My son has been going to the school for two years love it it has really helped him with maintaining a structured school environment great education this year he will be in a classroom that is slightly larger and tutor that the school has added a second teacher you cannot ask for any better they have positive Christian teaching so I am not worried about him learning about sex more about him learning about Jesus Christ read more

Parkhurst is a great school! We have been there four years and started there when it was Community Christian. We love the Christ centered focus of the school in every thing they do. The school has grown in number over the last several years and with that comes change and growing pains. But through all of that, the focus has remained on the children and Jesus. We love that Wee One goes here! Caring, attentive staff. Curriculum is challenging, fair and relevant...they don't teach the crazy ten blocks for math. The projects are meaningful, such as class presentations to teach public speaking in elementary. Already doing fractions, conversions, metric system in the earlier grades. I am a teacher at this school and see how students here are treated with great respect. Some parents take the intentions of this school as if we treat students as criminals but that is sorely a false statement. There is so much care for these students. My student attended the community Christian school and was antagonized by teachers there my son and many o his friends were treated unfairly in the punishing system and one day even the cops came take that into consideration when you see your children attending community Christian schools read more
