Visiting from out of town and owners wrongfully accused my girlfriend and I of shoplifting, making a scene over a $2 candy bar! My girlfriend and I came from out of town for the weekend and on our last day we stopped by this market to get some snacks and chapstick for the road. My girlfriend initially grabbed a candy bar but changed her mind and put it back and we continued to browse the store. In the back we noticed there was a section of iced beverages and took a quick look before heading to the register. We didn't initially notice the sign that said "no merchandise unless put in a basket" and was later pointed out to us by a woman working there. Then all of a sudden the man working at the counter raised his voice and confronted my girlfriend about the candy bar. We explained that we put it back but he got defensive and accusingly said "Show me". Even after showing him, he denied believing us. Then he claimed we were taking medicine in the back which was false because it was only chapstick that we were willing to buy. Then the woman chimed in and continued fabricating that we "took a long time" in the store the previous night, even though all we did was we went to browse and get some late night snacks. This is was the most utterly disrespectful and unprofessional behavior we have witnessed from any business and left a bad taste for our first visit to Clearlake. Note to Owners; Maybe CHECK your cameras before you start harassing and accusing your costumers of shoplifting. We will not be returning. read more

After writing a review about being horribly treated while being evacuated from my home due to a fire the owner wants to respond on what I was buying and try to make me look like a bad person or mother. For one my child is in first grade I can't carry him around a store and a hand held basket. Your clerk could obviously see that. Second you can look further in your tapes I went and picked up a friend came back to your store and spent almost 200 dollars. She lives in Clearlake park and said they do not shop in your store because of how rude your workers are. Why not apologize for your rude inconsiderate worker. After 20 plus years doing business with park view market in clearlake park i am sad to say its nothing like it should be it was a great little store the owners with there bitter unwelcomeing Managing skills come off to say hey! we dont need your business.you can shut up put up now and shop or get off the property i can not stand bullying and that is what i wittnesed to day the owners yelled and scared a young lady makeing her run in fear as she only was saying hello to old fraind buying a few items just saying hello do these people have no shame i know no words for there behavior.its sad how we have let go of dream and happyness Peace and love for our nabors. read more

I'm so upset about how badly I was treated here. I asked the clerk his name and he wouldn't answer, and then I asked the owner her name, and she said she was busy. The owner's wife is rude for no reason but with a smile on her face she said things like " don't thank me I'm doing my job" " we aren't new" " oh don't greet me" and then this afternoon " don't yell from the door". To which my response was " what does that mean?? And i stood rhere waiting for an answer but she just walked away from me. The actual employees are fine and even the owner himself is 99% of the time fine other than the time he told me I would be barred for life from the store if I ever bought another homeless person a burrito who is standing in front of the store asking customers for change that was weird. I get they probably deal with a lot of crappy people but what owner treats their customers like this for reason. I can't ask what I've done wrong because I've seen people in the store ask the owners what they did wrong and the owners responses have always been leave or I'll call the cops and make you leave for asking what they did wrong . I feel it is in very poor taste to treat customers that way and like I said she does it with a smile on her face so it doesn't on the outside look like she's being rude but it's the things that she says to your thank you and have a good day or the hi you give her when you walk into the store. They've lost another customer today. And if you see this and I hope you do please understand that it's not because your bad store or your rules are too strict even it is the way that you speak to people who have not shoplifted who have never been disrespectful or caused a scene in your store. I have been shopping at this little hole of a market for years, so has most of my family. It was a convenient location. Today, I started to walk in and realized I didn't have my mask on. Before I could turn around to go get my mask, the owner, (the wife of Ron) yelled at me "get out, you don't have your mask on!" The he chimes in "there is a sign right on the door" as if I was too dumb to notice. He was so rude, so was she! I have never been treated so badly by any store owner in this town! They did the same thing to my husband just the other day. We spend alot of money in that store, but NO MORE!!!!!!!!!!!! Those two are the rudest couple EVER!!!! It's funny, my husband was their son's baseball coach. I was humiliated in front of all the other customers in the store. Scolding me like a child. It's not worth it to give my money to these people just to be shamed in front of the world. 40 years we have been shopping there and this is how we are treated. NOT COOL!!!!!! Cute and well stocked. This small store tucked in the backside of clear lake is such a little treat to have when out riding my bike in that area. With well stocked beer cooler and snack isle , I always find just the right thing to kill my hunger pains. It's been here for a long time and I am glad to see it grow and expand. read more
