Not only that, they'll waste your time while you wait in line for them to finish conversations with their friends and family , you could have called each other instead of having people who don't have time to listen to your latest gossip. While at the same time don't have time to allow someone to put down their items on the counter before they're eager to ring your products up with the kind.of attitude that ensures that you would never want to come back. I needed some help buying a specific, high-end wine and had a few questions. I tried over a number of days and at different times to "dial 1 for wine" along with trying other prompts, only to receive the same outcome. With our event approaching, I went ahead and placed an online order for a bottle of 2016 Penfolds Grange. A $525 bottle with $62.50 shipping and tax for a total of $639. Everything showed up fine. We have enjoyed this wine and even this vintage before and it is usually exceptional. However, this bottle was clearly corked with one guest mentioning, "it smells like a barn". Now, I don't blame Bottle Barn for selling me a high-end wine with clear cork-taint. They don't know what's behind the cork and stuff happens. I did email Bottle Barn to let them know that they had sold me a clear and obvious corked bottle of this usually exceptional wine. I did not ask for anything in the follow-up email, including a refund. I simply wanted to bring to their attention that they may have issues with other similar bottles and when future customers complain about cork-taint, that they should believe them. That's it. The frustrating part for me was after the clear lack of any communication on the pre-purchase side, they didn't have the courtesy to even respond to my email. A $639 purchase that was thrown down the drain and not even a reply. Seems to me that Bottle Barn needs to step their game up in regard to communication both on the pre-purchase and post-purchase ends.

My bank (a large regional bank) does not issue tap cards yet. So I had to put the bottles back on the shelf and drive across the street to Big John's. I know tap cards are trending but have never encountered a store that forced their customers to use them. Seems like Tip Top has hit rock bottom ... and just lost a loyal, long-time customer along the way.
