This station rocks! Way better than all the other district stations...only gripe is the parking lot, or lack thereof.

Three thug types were trying to break into the gate and potentially house while i lli was sound asleep! i don't know what caused me to wake up bc there wasn't any noise, but when i did i knew immediately something was wrong and looked at the camera and saw them out there. i turned all the lights on and called 911. About 10-15 cops showed up within minutes and were right away making sure everything was safe and that these guys weren't hanging around nearby. Two officers came up to talk to me and tried to calm me down bc i was really freaked out by all this. They were super kind and helpful and gave great advice on what the owner of the house i'm renting should do to secure it and reassured me that if these thugs came back they would have a hard time getting into the house AND to keep my phone next to me and call right away if they came back. Cops have really tough jobs and these days little respect. Especially living in a city like SF where they favor criminals and police have to deal with so much politics and BS just to be able to do their jobs. Their jobs are to protect us! The leaders of this city sadly want to make that hard for them. That is super sad. They came to my aid in literally less than five mins, probably more like 2 or 3 mins and likely prevented the situation from escalating into something far worse! I love the officers at Taraval station and they've always taken good care of us. i will for sure miss them when i move in a few weeks, and hope that in my new home i don't have to call the police as much as i've had to while living here in Sf, specially the last few years. Thank you SFPD, and especially all of my favorite Taraval Station officers! you're the best!

At the time, I was very sick--dealing with severe dehydration, malnutrition, and confusion. I wasn't in a state where I could fully understand what was happening or advocate for myself. I was weak, disoriented, and truly vulnerable. Instead of overlooking me or moving on, the officers who responded took the time to recognize that I needed real help. They didn't treat me like a problem--they treated me like a person. They stepped up, stayed present, and made sure I got to the hospital safely. That decision made all the difference. In a moment where I could have easily been left behind or misunderstood, they chose compassion. They chose to act. Because of that, I received the medical care I desperately needed, and I am now on the road to recovery. There's something incredibly powerful about being seen and helped when you cannot help yourself. I will never forget that. Their kindness, patience, and willingness to go the extra mile truly meant the world to me.

San Francisco Police Department - Apparently, SFPD does not understand traffic laws. Not surprising, since they refuse to enforce them.

With shelter in place still in effect, my family fell victim to a hit and run accident several weeks before my visit to this station to file a police report. Fortunately, no one was hurt and the damage was only to my dad's old car that was parked in front of the house. I tried to file a report online, but, with shelter in place, the policy is that I file a report at any police station. Since most of my work is in the downtown and Chinatown area, I stopped in on a June weekday afternoon here. No one else was in the waiting area so I walked up to the windowed counter and explained my situation. Officer Pacchetti helped me start the form, writing down details as I dictated the information to her. For the personal information portion, she brought the form out on a clipboard and handed it to me to complete and sign. Once done, I walked to the window and returned it to her. She gave me her email address so that I could share photos from the accident as well as a video from our security monitor. Before getting a receipt from her, I noticed a display case and a few shirts that were for sale. Knowing several friends who also grew up in the neighborhood, I bought a couple of shirts as gifts (https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/sfpd-central-district-police-station-san-francisco?select=OucyhFC7BOgD4D02KePxgg). Thanks for making this a painless process.
