I go to have the $3.25 breakfast special. I'm a senior 68 years old. I eat the eggs, toast and bring the bacon home for my dog. The coffee is kept full and the people really care about you. It is an older restaurant, booth seating and a few tables and chairs which can accommodate a large group. I generally leave a $5 tip. I don't buy eggs anymore due to their cost. The tip is for the waitress because at 3.25 they definitely don't make any money off me! WHY DON'T YOU JUST GIVE EM A TRY! read more

I was in town for just a day, I'm from Indianapolis and I got sooo lucky to find this gem!! I wasn't going to be in this area, but on my way to Detroit I had to stop at a tire shop near here ... then I found this place and tried it for lunch. First off this place looks modest from the outside... and their pieces are also modest. You cannot find a place nowadays where you can have breakfast/brunch and a soft drink for under $10. Ii loved my western omelette. There was only one person in the kitchen so the food was not fast, but it was so worth the wait. Service was friendly and nice too. I highly recommend! The place seemed to be filled with lots of regulars too. I can tell this is a local favorite. read more

Went here last week had a corn beef sandwich and chicken noodle soup. This place is like a hole in the wall they been there forever and don't expect anything fancy because it's not one of them places. You seat yourself and they have an excellent amount of food to choose from. It was only one waitress that day but she handled everything in a decent amount of time. I like going here for a quick bite of good when I'm in the area. I definitely recommend this place! read more

I watched the cook as she was making everyone's food without gloves, picked her teeth, put her finger in her ear to itch it, wiped her sweat and not once did she wash her hands after any of this .. Best diner downriver! Clean, tidy, friendly, old school, great atmosphere, ample parking. Cripes, the cook (and I believe the owner...just a guess, though) wears a Tigers cap. Totally excellent local flair... am I right? To be honest, I have only ordered breakfast notwithstanding my many visits. I can't get past it. Simply too good to move on. Therefore, I can say with authority, this place has the best friggin' breakfast this side of 'any-place-you-can-name'. I have fantasized about ordering something else. Others do... it all looks scrumptious! But I can't. I'm weak. Next time you come in perhaps you'll see me. I'm sitting alone, way in the back, eating breakfast under a monstrously huge stuffed grouper. That's right, a grouper large enough to eat me whole, mounted to the wall about three feet above my head. Oh, just to be clear, I'm eating alone because I wish to. Found this on Yelp and decided to give it a try with my boys. Wasn't disappointed at all. My 6 year old had eggs and bacon, 15 year old had pancakes and ham and I had a bacon cheese burger and fries. Slow service. Regulars were served first. Asked that my leftovers be left so that I could eat later since our food took so long to be served. Waitress did not ask and just threw it away. Not a bad place. Decent food, and personally it gets points just for being a locally-owned place rather than some crappy chain. It's essentially a little coney island. In a non-direct way, they also have points with me because the owner has worked with local organizations trying to improve the area. I recently met a friend for breakfast at a little restaurant in the Downriver community of Lincoln Park, Michigan. This community is just south of the Detroit city limits and it's considered to be a "blue collar" city. Many of the original residents were drawn there since the Ford Motor Company's Rouge Complex is only a couple miles away. This restaurant only seats around 20-30 people, but their food and service are great. We both ordered breakfast and our meals were delicious and very affordable. I had their special "Park Omelet" which was huge and very tasty. I had to take half of it home since there was no way I could finish it. From our booth, I could see the kitchen and the cook reminded me of Mel from the hit 80's TV series "Alice". The restaurant's decor is as plain as it can get with some great pictures of a few Detroit legends. My favorite is Detroit's own "Brown Bomber", Joe Louis. But, you don't go to the Park Restaurant for its ambience . . . you go there for the great food and reasonable prices. The next time I go to the Park Restaurant will be for dinner with the family. If their dinners are even close to their breakfasts in quality, taste, and cost; it will become one of my favorite eating establishments. read more

Live down the street. Was looking for a breakfast spot one day and after seeing mixed reviews, I figured I'd give it a try. Pleasantly delicious. I have only ordered the breakfast special (meat, toast, two eggs) $2.50 (or close). Pretty cheap and decent. Grilled chicken Greek salad is like a head of lettuce soaked in non Greek dressing they put like 3 little pieces of chicken that was dry and nasty on top and I ordered chicken tenders with fries for my son they were hard just gross and nasty like if both had been frost bit before cooked will never eat here again l!! read more

I have been to this place many times for breakfast and it's always great! Great service, great food, fast, friendly and inexpensive. The decor is a little shabby but it's definately a diner atmosphere. The owner makes a lot of the food himself - this isn't stuff from GFS slapped on a plate. Last night I stopped in for the dinner specials as a carry out. Meatloaf was wonderful and the beef tips over noodles was fantastic - accompanied with fresh green beans and salads instead of the potato. I got all of this food for $13.00 - are you kidding me? Don't eat here. This was the first time we have been here and both the food and service were terrible. First it took 45 minutes for our food to come. Second the waitress never asked if we wanted refills while we were waiting even after she brought us our food and looked right at our empty glasses, we had to ask her. My daughter had the turkey ruben which was mostly saurekraut with a couple small chunks of turkey and I had the mousaka that was very watery and soggy fries from the watery mousaka. There are many other restaurants in the area, skip this place and choose one of the others. read more

Passed this place for years and finally decided to try it out...coffee is good, but dont count on speedy refills..the waitresses dont pay u much attention...i was in there for about an hr and a half...i got 2refills :( i ordered breakfast, took so long i forgot what i ordered lol, the ppl sitting next to us left saying dont come in here hungry...after i waited about 30 mins for a breakfast special it came to the table...after giving us our food, the waitress then decides to ask us what kind of toast we want...food looks good, after 2 bites of hashbrowns i gp for the sausage and there it is...i big ole hair laying on my meat :(...im never coming back read more
