The atmosphere was nice, the food was good, but drinks were limited & the bartender in the back was very RUDE.

We did come late, which had to do with scheduling conflicts so our server seemed standoffish to begin with, but completely understandable. I'd be the same way. After a few minutes, she warmed up and her personality came out, very sweet! Our round of drinks were: Lychee Love, Apple Cider Margarita, & Campire Biscotti. All exceptional. For our first appetizers, we ordered Short Rib Hummus and Lamb Meatballs. These were great starters, and built anticipation. For my entree, I ordered the Wagyu Cheddar Burger and then, my auntie said the magic words "I think we should try the focaccia bread." If I would have known the Foccacia Bread (with whipped butter and honey) was going to be that superb, cocktails and 6 orders would have been all I needed. Don't get me wrong, the Wagyu Cheddar Burger was scrumptious, but the Foccacia Bread was outstanding. The kitchen was closing and I HAD to ask for more--mind you, I hate doing that. It was THAT good. Will be back on Wednesdays for the $10 cocktails. Overall 9.5/10

Located in the David Rubenstein Forum on the UofC campus in Hyde Park, I feel this is a universal untapped gem for those of us outside of the Hyde Park & Woodlawn community. Came by mid week so it wasnt crowded. We were lucky enough to get the very cool Omar as our server...nice guy and very helpful. Love the decor of the place as it makes for a nice date night with the fireplace in the back and the semi-intimate lighting. Started out with the very smooth old fashioned...so good, I had 2 of them. 1st course was the Salmon Tartare which was a nice intro. 2nd course was the Arctic Char which I selected on Omar's recommendation and it was delicious. A really nice piece of fish in harissa tomato broth. 3rd course was the Butterscotch Pudding...the poached pear and gingersnap cookie crumble definitely set that joint off...yum!!! Had a nice wine paring to go with the meal. They have jazz on certain nights in which i would like to return for. Will be back soon. Very much slept on joint here!

The outdoor space is also plentiful with heated seating that makes the snowfall dinner such a romantic experience. The food was also very good. Here's what we tried. 1. Filet mignon: perfect cut filet cooked to a medium rare with sis of parsnip pree, shallots, and bone marrow butter. Superb 3. Roasted pistachio and Amaretto Coppa: roasted pistachio gelato with amaretto cherries, an crushed amaretto. Love it! Paired it with mint tea. Overall perfect winter night out. Service was friendly and top notch as expected from a nice Chicago restaurant. Props to the serving assistant/"busboy" who kept our waters full and table clean and set as we ate. As a former buss boy and server, I really appreciated his effort and attentiveness. Food was excellent! I got the chicken picatta with rigatoni added and both were on point. Homemade pasta and succulent chicken were really fantastic for an otherwise "boring" choice by me. We shared a side of the cauliflower that was seasoned impeccably with toasted almonds and white raisins. It might have been the best part of our entire meal which is saying a lot. Girlfriend got the lobster stuffed pasta which was excellent as well per her report and my opinion after tasting. Would Highly recommend this place for business, date, or dinner with a few friends. Very reasonable price as we are for less than $100 pre tax although we did not get any drinks. Tipped in cash because the service and atmosphere were soo good.

Reviews were good so we came in on a Monday evening. The interior is so cute! Velvety comfy green chairs at the wine bar, smaller lounge tables and couches in the rest of the place. There is a separate room for gaming. We sat at the bar and were warmly greeted by Aria L. She was so courteous and helpful, offering us suggestions on the wines and snacks. They have a great happy hour from 4-7p for $20 wine bottle which is fantastic. The house white was good, although they ran out after a glass and I went for the Simi sauvignon blanc which was so good. The parmesan truffle fries are a MUST. Just $8.99 for a nice sized bowl of crisp, tasty fries with fresh parmesan shaved on top. MM! I had the 12" cheese lovers pizza which had burrata cheese on top oh my GOSH that is gooooood. It's rich so I had plenty of leftovers for the next day. My friend got the 12" Diavola pizza which she loved. My other friend got the Italian panini ($13.99) which he said he was not that crazy about, but he did enjoy the atmosphere and the Guiness. It is a chill place to have a nice conversation without having to compete with loud music or chatter. We are planning to revisit the next time I am here, this was a very enjoyable evening.

From the start, the bartender's attitude seemed off, but what stood out most was the difference in how I was treated compared to the rest of my group. He was friendly, attentive, and even offered complimentary drinks and shots to my friends, while I was largely ignored. Things escalated when the check came. After I paid, my receipt was held up in a way that drew attention to the fact that I hadn't left a tip on the card. And, then he mocked me and said, "I'm sorry my service was that bad to the point, I didn't get a tip." Shortly after, my friends continued receiving drinks on the house--again excluding me out. This created an awkward and embarrassing situation, especially since I was sitting right there with them. For clarity, I tip in cash as a personal preference, but regardless, no one should be singled out or treated differently like that. He laughed, and kept showing my receipt. I'm sharing this in hopes that it's taken seriously, because professionalism and consistency in service matter. P.S- The server/bartender name was Jaquez or Jaquees (not 100% sure on the proper spelling but, he has long locs with a nose ring, and ear gauges.

Hours went by without the flowers being found. I had to call several departments speaking to different people just to locate the flowers myself and then beg a facility receptionist to help. They ended up calling maintenance to drive a cart to take it to the right department which was an entire block away. This flower shop also needs to keep Joann away from new clients. At first, she comes across friendly but that wears off very quickly. She gets extremely rude, sarcastic and impatient. When I called the day before my delivery to confirm the details, she picked up very annoyed and ran me off the phone saying "I have it all down correct now stop calling!" Aside from the terrible customer service, I wouldn't have felt the need to write a negative review if they had just dropped off the flowers where I asked and tried to confirm several times. Nice flowers - terrible experience.

They have expanded the food menu since my first visit, and everything I tried was solid. The empanada was my favorite, the quesabirria was really good, and the chicken torta was delicious.
