I have mixed feelings about Levin Furniture in Altoona, PA. I was helping my brother-in-law buy some new furniture. He finally settled on a nice couch and asked if the matching decorative pillows were included in the sale price? When he was told "no" he asked if they could "be thrown in" as he was buying many other items and was told "yes" they would be. This was confirmed when he was done shopping and paying cash for the total purchase including some warranties. Then it was confirmed again before he left the store. As you might expect, the furniture was delivered without the two pillows. When we called, we were told they were display pillows and not included. Yes, we knew they were display pillows but "yes" it was confirmed they would be included. Might have been able to overlook the "missing pillows" if it were not for the delivery "bait and switch" sort of. We were told Levin had free delivery, but it did not include drastically marked down or discontinued items such as the couch my brother-in-law was buying. Well, the living room side chair, bedroom dresser and bedroom nightstand were included in the purchase, but that "pesky" couch meant "no free delivery." So, the extra $250.00 for delivery (that you have to arrange yourself from a list they helpfully provide) offset any notion of savings value that day. So, you see, "yes" those two little pillows could have softened the blow a little and all by the way, when we called on Thursday about the missing pillows, we were told someone would call back by Saturday. Nope, as you might have guessed, no call back. All in all, the experience was lackluster. I mean, there are other furniture stores that are probably just as sufficient as Levin's, so there is no special reason, I feel, to shop there again in the future.

Then that didn't last and it sat empty again. Now, Levin has moved in and appears to be in it for the long haul. I like Levin as a company because they do not pull any punches. They give you a straight forward answer and are knowledgeable of their products. They don't try to push an item on you to make a bigger sale. They listen to you as a customer and advise you on what they have in stock. This was the case recently when my dad was looking for a new mattress. He went in with what he wanted in mind. We were greeted as soon as we entered the store, and asked what we were looking for. The employee, I cannot remember his name, knew exactly where to take us and knew every answer my dad had posed a question to. Ultimately my dad had to think about it. Simply because a mattress is a long-term commitment. Not one that you make lightly. Overall, a great customer service experience and would return here if I, myself, am in the market for some furniture.

It was completely unusable because of the raw wood. They took it back and said I would have to wait until January for another table. I also ordered chairs and one of the chairs had a 6 inch crack down the leg that i didn't notice until after they left. When I called the manager asked me to send him pictures of the chair. He then told me that he would order me a new leg and that he didn't know if the chair was safe to use. He would not order me a new chair and said the chair would be fixed at my house when they bring the table in January. Now I have 15 people coming for dinner on Christmas Eve. I am down one chair and the loaner table that they gave me to use is a little to wide for my kitchen but I am forced to deal with it.

I called instantly, they could've only been 5 Miles away, but was told they couldn't turn around. I called the store they were of no help. I had to call the main number again & they told me no refunds. They issued me a credit so I hope the chair I get matches. They're not charging me for anything extra to deliver. Prices seem reasonable. Order online and get a better deal. You can have them wait outside then refuse the order so you get a refund. Dont sign anything or be pressured. If you like it then that's great. This recliner is awesome but my experience was not. Great price too. Its ashame the altoona store lies to their customers. If you have trouble getting refunded report it to the attorney generals office. Their products aren't made in USA I was told they were and found a tag saying product of Vietnam. I called the store and got hung up on by a salesman. They are our 1st source of communication and they lie.
