He did a lot of work for me and did a over the top job. I wouldn't think twice of hiring him for any additional handicap work to my house.

As my dad has MS and has special needs, it was a special order, which also has a warranty. He was really nice before the purchase, but afterwards, any issues that arose, we were met with rudeness and idleness. I'm not sure if his issue is with young people, women, or everyone, but he is anything but professional. My dad's chair has a cord that connects to the remote, and the lock to hold it into the bottom of the chair was broken, and it was moving the whole way up and the whole way back on its own, sometimes rendering my dad helpless with his head on the ground for hours at a time or pushed against the wall due to the malfunctioning chair. When multiple PCAs and I reported this to Kurt, instead of showing concern or trying to fix the problem quickly, he was callous, cold and full of excuses to myself and two PCAs over the phone. We reported problems the middle and end of the week as it happened more than once and he waited until the following week to order the parts. The problem continued and we switched out the recliner for another chair that he barely fits in and moved the recliner to the living room to be worked on. When he got to the house to fix it, he said it can't be fixed because the frame is warped but he said my dad isn't heavy enough to do that? The frame wasn't even the problem initially and probably got warped while my dad was in compromising positions during the time Kurt neglected to order the parts. He even said to me and a PCAs that dad cried wolf with the cord once before and he sent it back to the company even though it worked and he wasn't going to do it again. I'm sorry but it's not the customer's job to know how to fix something, it's his job. If it still worked, he should have been able to see that instead of neglecting a disabled elderly man and allowing him to be upside down multiple times before ordering anything, after 4-5 calls and me threatening to contact the Better Business Bureau, he finally ordered the part, but now he can't fix the chair bc of the frame that no one is strong enough to warp and won't honor the warranty? This feels wrong. Do not do business with this man if you value the safety of your loved ones. He may have products that are cheaper than other places, but the service is cheap too and virtually non-existent. I am contacting the office of aging, Blair senior services and the Better Business Bureau, but I wanted to make sure our story was heard here too.

The frame wasn't even the problem initially, it was the cord on the bottom which was an electrical issue & multiple times put my dad the whole way back with his head nearly on the floor as it wouldn't stop moving on it's own and my dad is disabled, the frame probably got warped while my dad was in compromising positions during the time Kurt neglected to order the parts & yelled, literally yelled & hung up on me &t caregivers who called out of concern as well. He even said to me & the caregivers that dad cried wolf with the cord once before & Kurt sent it back to the company even though it worked and he wasn't going to do it again. This feels wrong & petty. In addition, Kurt was at the house for nearly 6 hours taking the chair apart, & at nearly 8pm at night, when the last caregiver was leaving for the evening, my dad told Kurt he would need to leave as well so the house could be locked up as my dad isn't mobile. Kurt pitched a fit yelling at my dad then called me and yelled at me, & on his way out, the caregiver told me he slammed the door so hard the whole house shook. It's been over 6 months, he wouldn't answer any calls after he threw a fit at the house & the chair remains in our living room in pieces, my dad still in a chair too small because we can't afford to buy another chair as this one was thousands of dollars with a warranty he refused to honor. Do not do business with this man if you value the safety of your loved ones. He may have products that are cheaper than other places, but the service is cheap too & virtually non-existent.

Avoid! Short version: a meeting with this co. was scheduled for me while in rehab at UPMC hospital…read more I did not ask to see them nor ask for a meeting. But I was told it was part of rehab. Laurel offered low cost options to buy parts and accessories for power wheelchairs, and I just found out I would be in one full-time. I ended up buying a few parts including a high-end seat cushion that works using pockets of air. These can run up to $400, and they said they had a floor model, or a demo that would only cost me $200. Turns out this cushion was faulty on arrival. I had to send it back to them and they tested it and also found it faulty, but refused to return my money or send me a new one. They said they would either patch it and send it to me. Or split the difference and give me $100 and not send anything, not even the patched version. I had no luck trying to recover any money from them, and to this day they are still holding $200 of my money in theft. On top of this they were very rude and argumentative, and seem to want to escalate the situation far beyond what was necessary. Another shameful example of taking advantage of disabled people who they assume are a docile and easily manipulated client. Long Version: I purchased four items from Laurel medical while I was in the hospital. The company was introduced to me as part of my physical therapy in rehab. They are presented as an official arm of Mercy Hospital who can help with one's wheelchair. As I was going to be in a motorized wheelchair full-time. The dispute happened with a Roho 20 x 18 High profile cushion. Essentially a seat cushion that's filled with air. They asked me if I wanted a used one and I said no. They said they had floor models and demo models which were perfectly fine, and half the cost of a new one. So I agreed, and was charged $200. When the cushion came it did not hold air. It deflated, and therefore did not work. When I contacted them they said I would need to send it back to them so they could test it. So I sent it back at my expense. After waiting several days I contacted them and they said that they tested it, and it was indeed faulty. They said they were going to try to patch it and send it back to me. I told him I did not want a patched cushio yeah do you need anything they are cheddar cinnamon cheddar I don't know beans call me cool beans beans lumos rent rent no I don't understand wi-Fi I retaliation days later supposed to pay 800 24 $200 $200 cancel thank you apartment landlord money passes postpone a payment on credit cards how are you feeling how much were you supposed to pay dollars payment Dollar dollar paper I'll financing I'll pay September 30 mom thank you very much social media Best place magically worst thing you've ever seen in your life it is the lowest rent thing I've seen this is facial hair and his wife doesn't Secret life I don't know not paying 15th October 25 sorry to hear you're going through show me some good thing at a time just let me know when you're ready to do this please let me know you got this message I'm gonna order you to pay the $2496 prejudgment insurance violation violate shining behalf quiet when we cook up our couch Thailand muscle Bangkokn - that's not what I paid for. They told me that that's too bad, "you take your chances when you buy something used." I complained again and they said the owner was willing to split the difference with me, and refund $100, and would NOT send the patched cushion with that refund. Again I declined asking what am I getting for my $100? I have no cushion. And they said take it or leave it. On top of this they were very rude and argumentative, and seem to want to escalate the situation far beyond what was necessary. So my complaint is first that they have stolen $200 of my money. Second that they are misrepresented as an arm of mercy Hospital when in fact they are just a private company. Yay

It seemed like you could never get a straight answer as to where or why there was a problem. One of the missing parts were brakes which resulted in unsafe transfers for him and for my mother, who had to help him. Dont order any Supplies from them. They are a bunch of scammers…read more I am sharing my personal experience. I ordered supply for my CPAP machine. When you place order there is a option that 'It will give you estimate how much it will cost you'. Based on that I confirmed i will pay $34 and insurance will cover $98. Otherwise Amazon could have costed me $60. So i went ahead and confirmed order. I received my package sometime in January. Then out of no where I received a bill of $98. I wondered why am i receiving this bill now. When i called them, they told me my insurance doesn't cover anything. I got confused, Why my insurance was covering $98 in January and suddenly after two months it's not covering. I called them multiple times and asked them take your package return, And then they are telling me Return window is just 30 days. So how they are scamming people is, 1. first they will call you ensure you, it will cost amount. 2. And wait for return window pass by. 3. After that they will send you invoice which you eventually have to Pay. Now i received a letter that threatening it to send to Attorney or collection agency.

Medcare Equipment company likes to take advantage of sick people…read more My mom, a cancer patient who gets many supplies from them has now been ripped off by them twice. Unable to return equipment, company is not picking it up and charging people. She was charged for equipment after it was scheduled to be picked up,they voided the order on their end and she paid $155 for their mistake. I made several calls unable to get the matter resolved and had to wait for a specialist,to return my call. When the specialist called all she had to say "no refund will be issued" and then she hung-up. A very professional specialist.
