Its nice having a photographic supplier this big in Sussex. I hate having to go all the way in to London to get camera kit and this place has pretty much everything. They have some really good deals on compact digitals and on SLRs and the staff are really helpful and really do know their stuff. They could do with a bit more lighting equipment and coloured backdrops but for everything else they are great. read more
What looks at first sight like a relatively small camera shop is actually one of the UK's largest camera retailers. Although not necessarily the cheapest place, if you like to 'try before you buy' - essential for a good camera, I think - this is a good place to go. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, and the range of stock is huge. I didn't feel pressured into buying, nor did I think that I was made to feel like an idiot for asking basic questions. They have an excellent web-site which is worth checking before you go, as it lists whether items are in stock, and they will honour their web-site prices in the shop. (NB The deals on the web-site are often better than published in their adverts in photographic magazines). It's only 15 minutes from Brighton by train, and then a ten minute walk. There's another shop in nearby Hayward's Heath. read more

Firstly I would like to thank Park cameras for rubbish service. I went to buy two cameras worth a total of nearly £1700. Asked if they could throw in a £25 case for good will to be offered a measly 20% of the case. It's not the staff but the manager that obviously does not want local people to shop there. On the bright side went to curry's in hove ( jim really good ) brought both cameras two cases ,sd cards, extra lens and a tri pod still beating park cameras price. So once again thanks. read more
I've always had good service from this company. No problems with after sales, and I must compliment them on the very high standard of photographic courses. Though expensive, they have good content. Well done read more

Here's a story with a happy ending. I decided to sell my Nikkor VR 11 18-200 lens and to replace it with a Nikkor 18-300 lens. I phoned Park Cameras about the availability of the new lens and enquired about the price they would give me for the old lens, which incidentally I had bought there - in the past couple of years I have spent about £3000.00 at Park cameras. I was told the lens was available for £849,99 and I would be offered £170 for the 18-200. I explained that it was a VR 11 with the anti zoom creep lock, and was like a brand new lens; protected with a UV filter. in the original packing, the leather pouch still in it's cellophane bag and the instruction book in pristine condition. The lady on the phone said in that case they could perhaps offer more and I should come along with the lens. At Park cameras in Burgess Hill I was directed to a counter dealing with used gear, I showed the lens and also the bill proving I had bought it at their shop. A young lady consulted a price list and said "£170" I remonstrated saying it was a VR 11 and had been informed that I might be given a better price. The young lady disappeared for about ten minutes and returned with a new18-300 lens and an unsmiling technician who, exuding an aura of suspicion put the 18-200 lens through it's paces. On being informed that their best price was £170,00 I said they should make an effort to pay a better price to retain the good will of an old client, even if their profit margin was slightly less. I could tell from her expression of complete bafflement that she didn't understand what I was talking about. At this juncture another member of the staff advised me to sell it on the internet, "You would probably get a better price". To this suggestion I replied "Tell you what, I'll look on the internet for a better price for the 18-300". I bought the 18-300 from Jessops in Brighton for £699,99. After picking up the lens at Jessops I nipped around the corner to Clock Tower Cameras where a gentleman who is obviously running his own business agreed the lens was in good shape and offered me £250,00. I'm £220,00 better off thanks to Park Camera's parsimony, let's face it; if Park Cameras had offered me just £20,00 or £30.00 more I would probably have sold them the lens and stumped up £840,00. for the new lens. What would really would have made me choke is that Park Cameras is now selling the 18-300 for £81,00 less at £759,00. read more

I would give it full stars but by principle I never do. I had fabulous help by phone, great advise and finaly a very good price when I decided to buy. The camera and lenses arrived on the day they told me it would and all in perfect condition. Really an excellent place to buy your photographic equipment. read more

Advertised a camera as in stock at a low price then admitted they have no stock and tried to sell me something different. Didn't cancel my paypal payment so I couldn't use my paypal balance to buy my camera from a reliable supplier. read more

I ordered and paid for a set of Cokin ND Grad filters in store in February. I heard nothing from this store for over 2 months so I contacted them to voice my concern. They replied very promptly to my email and informed me that they were having trouble with their supplier, fair enough these things happen. At the beginning of June I happened to check their web site and saw that the items were in stock. I waited a week and still had heard nothing from them so once again I emailed them and they replied confirming that the items were in stock and ready for collection or they would post them to me for an extra £4.99. After 4 months of waiting they could have offered to post them to me for nothing just to show a bit of good will and customer service. I still would have collected them because they are just down the road and my confidence in this company was now very low. I went to the store to collect my order and guess what, they couldn't find it. Fortunately they could just take one out of stock. This was the second time this has happened to me the first time was when I ordered a Sigma lens and they couldn't find my order, again they had one in stock and I mean just one. All in all I have no confidence in this store and can not recomend it. During my period of wating I ordered a Canon Speedlight 580 and a Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens from Amazon. They both arrived within 2 days of ordering the items and I could track the orders. read more

I had problems with a Canin lens and took it to Park Camers as I'd always had super service from them. (I live near Portsmouth, so it's quite a trek). Anyway a couple of weeks turned into four, then five! One call was greated with, It's not back, ring on Monday??? I rang on the Tuesday and was informed that the Canon technicians had been attending football matches and 'shows' on standby and that they'd also been waiting a part and that it was now in and the repair should be completed in 7 to 10 days. That came and went. I emailed and was informed that they'd contacted Canon, who replied that they were awaiting an item, (not held in stock?) and that as soon as they had it, the repair could be completed. I emailed Park Cameras again first thing this morning stating that I'd yet another busy weekend coming up, and wanted to know what was happening? I got a reply and at nearly four in the afternoon stating that the lens had been returned to Park Cameras 'yesterday' and that they'd been 'checking it out' and that it was now ready for collection. Sadly, although I was assured that 'they' were keeping tabs on the repair, it felt like I was having to do the chasing. I'd like reassurance that it won't be the same case with a camera now in for repair? read more

Purchased a camera at Christmas from Park Cameras, Burgess Hill. Droped it on 16/07/2010 and sent back to Park Cameras for a repair estimate on 17/07/2010. After 4 weeks , had not heard anything from shop so telephoned. They told me someone would get back to me . I have been telephoning ever since and visited shop twice. Eveytime they tell me someone will get back to me , but nobody ever has. Eveytime , the person dealing with it is on holiday ,sick or at lunch. Every time , they give me a different name . It is now 12/10/10 (nearly three months) and guess what .... telephoned them AGAIN this morning 9.00 am , for the umpteenth time and they said someone will get back to me . Still waiting...The worst after sales I have ever come across . read more

Have just spent the best £50 yet on an hour's training with Anthony Sinfield at Park Cameras. As a relative novice, I know where I want to get in my photography / post production - but not how to get there. Anthony understood exactly what I was looking for and tailored the hour so that I got the maximum benefit. He explained technical issues without using jargon and judged the pace to suit me perfectly. He is encouraging and restores confidence (thanks Anthony!). I left Park Cameras armed with training materials and raring to go and put into practice what he had taught me. This has saved me hours of research and wading through the net and books to try and find my 'how to' answers. Highly recommended. read more

The service from park cameras was first class, unlike city link couriers, after two weeks of no delivery and sorry excuses for non delivery my item was returned to park cameras and then sent by royal mail, they delivered the very next day, city link couries are letting down the excellent service from park cameras, the staff at park cameras bent over backwards to get my camera delivered and chased city link every day. All I can say is city link (Ashford depot) is the worse couriers I have ever known, if you live within the Ashford depot area get your items sent by royal mail. I will have no hesitation to use park cameras again the servic is fantastic. read more

I needed a professional slide scanner very urgently and despite the usual Amazon listings, I decided to try Park Cameras. Rather than using my Internet Account, I telephoned my order and to double check availability but did not have to explain the urgency. I was promised next day delivery by City Link by default. Next morning, before my 8:30am breakfast, the delivery arrived perfect condition not a dent in the box- 150 miles in the 'blink of an eye' and just exactly what I had ordered. I was up and running again inside 24 hours so full compliments as always to the staff at Park Cameras. Happy Punter. read more

Brilliant place, really helpful staff who know what they are talking about. Happy to explain everything in simple terms for a non techie girl like me! Prices perhaps not the cheapest on line, but brilliant support and service makes it worth a couple of pounds extra. Have been in store - everything I needed was instore, and yesterday shopped on line - problem with my card going through, so called them & spoke to a lady who confirmed my details & would process the order later. My parcel arrived thismorning, perfectly packaged. Super speedy, efficient service with staff to talk to if needed. read more

I have used park cameras for several years and found them to be very helpful and reliable, and staff there will go out of their way to help. The shop is great and really well stocked, where you can try out lots of different cameras, (unlike some other stores where you cannot seem to get anywhere near the few cameras that they have on display), and the staff have always been very quick to offer help and advice, but I never feel under any pressure. I have also found that they are very fair and helpful with their part exchange too. All in all a great buying experience. read more

I've been in this shop several times before and had quite slow customer service, but the prices are fairly good and the staff seem quite knowlegeable. However, today I went there. The shop was empty of all but 3 customers (myself included) and 4 members of staff. Two members of staff were talking to customers. The other two fiddling with displays. I was left waiting at the till for more then 10 minutes and ended up walking out. Not impressed at all and would rather pay the extra £3 and go elsewhere! I have waited long times in the past but not as long as this! read more

Absolutely agree with what dmj has said. When I was looking for a replacement scanner, I did a thorough web search and located the model I wanted - it was the only range that could scan documents into pdf format without additional software, that I found anyway. And Park were really helpful when I rang, and then again when I got there. They reserved the thing for me and talked me through what needed doing. Very fast, very knowledgeable, I would always consult with them now on any purchase they're relevant for. Jessops aren't a patch on them. read more

Bought my last camera from this company online. I researched what I wanted and even phoned them for help and advice, they were great. They certainly beat every one elses prices and do really good deals on 'bundles'. There was no problems and prompt delivery. I have never visited their showroom but believe they have new, bigger & better premises. I would certainly use them again and would highly recommend them. read more

Not knowing very much about cameras the Park Camera staff at Burgess Hill could not have been more helpful. They did not rush and explained everything and the choice of cameras was extensive. This is the second time I have bought a camera from Park Cameras and if anything the excellent service was even better this last time. The customer service was informative and most helpful during what is a busy time in the lead up to Christmas.
