This is my go to mechanic shop without question! Dave is a magician and completely reliable to suggest only needed work and very reasonable quotes. I have to travel 30 minutes to have him work on my vehicles, but I'd never go elsewhere! read more

Dave was awesome. Fixed my car up quickly and very reasonably priced! He even unclogged my washer fluid tubes as a bonus I will definitely be going back next time!! Highly recommended! read more

Only suggestion if you like an old-school gas station private Machanic garage I think they're closed on Sundays early so beware of that

I love this little local shop! They are good and relatively affordable and often squeeze me in for same day appointments. If you've got something minor like a flat tire, they've got this and will do it quickly and well. I haven't used them for anything big, but I wouldn't hesitate if I needed it. Great local business to support! read more

The service station is horrible in every way. Babu Rampar the owner is extremely rude and disrespectful. My suggestion to everyone is get your automotive work done somewhere else. read more

I visit this gas station for gas, snacks and have had some work done on my cars. The customer service is great, and the work done to my cars has also been great. I would definitely recommend! read more

I get all my repairs there. I don't even question it, I get my oil changed there, and just tell him to look over the car. (The first visit I knew I could trust him.) My car is twenty years old, and every time they work on it, it feels like it new. Dave knows cars, is very fair w/his pricing, and ALWAYS comes in at the estimate (or a few dollars less). read more

I've been a customer at Park 76 for a while now. My kid's mom lives on the corner across the street, so it's where I always stop for gas. I've also used them for repairs on my various cars (somehow I ended up owning 4 right now) and have found the mechanic to be competent, though not very friendly. I even recommended the place to my kid's mom when she needed repairs on her car, but not any more. As I pulled in to drop off the kids, I noticed my tire was really low. I figured, no big deal, I'll just grab some air while I get gas on the corner. I pulled in to the pump, threw some air in the tire and then heard a loud hissing. It wasn't a small puncture so I wasn't going anywhere. I added enough air to get the car out of the pump and pulled off to the side to quickly put on the spare. Once I had the car up on the jack and all the wheel nuts off, the cashier comes running out to tell me I couldn't park there and that I had to put my tire back on and leave. I told him I'd had a blowout and couldn't drive on it. He replied "Well how did you get here?!" Seriously? I finished putting on the spare, because it was just as fast as putting the blown tire back on, and went inside to explain why I had stopped. He continued to shout at me! He told me I was blocking the pumps and that "this is a business!" I told him I saw one person fill up who was already there when I arrived, and they pulled right through. I was on the property for about as long as it takes to fill a tank of gas. He was still shouting at me when I left. I got my gas at the station down the street. When I told my kid's mom about it she said the last time she stopped there an employee came out with no face mask on and shoved past her while she was at the pump. What's with the sudden over-the-top rudeness? Never stopping there again. read more

Well my fat thumbs did it again! What I was trying to say When I check in was, on empty, had to find a gas station quickly, looked on yelp for the closes one. I pull into the piedmont 76 gas station and the first thing I see is a sign that says Gas Sale Today, ha, ha, ha. At $3.69 per gallon for regular! I know gas prices are high everywhere, but this is no sale. Got excited when I look at the sign, but not so much when I looked at the prices,Please take your sign down!!!! read more

Park Boulevard 76 - Hahaha :( - Auto Repair Near Me - Oakland, California

Getting an oil change should be simple, right? Well, it certainly isn't simple at Park Boulevard 76. Here's what happened to me. I dropped in to the station at 8:30 a.m. last week, hoping I could drop off my car then. The poor guy at the front counter said the garage guys weren't in until 9:00 a.m. and that I should come back then because he didn't know anything about their schedule. Then i called last week and asked to schedule an oil change appointment. The guy who answered the phone was a grump and just sighed and said, "Hold on!"--making me think it was an inconvenience or a waste of his time. He set the phone down, I waited, and another guy, who seemed a little put out by my call, got on and told me they don't accept appointments but that i could bring it in the following Thursday (today), leave it, and pick it up at the end of the day. So I took my car in this morning. The guy at the front counter was clueless again, so he checked with the mechanic in the garage, who said I'd have to come back tomorrow--yet again! I was standing at the entrance to the garage and explained my call the previous week, and still was told "tomorrow." When I asked if I could leave it and pick it up at the end of the day today, the mechanic--who later told me he was the manager, and who didn't turn around and look at me once during this whole conversation--said yes, to leave my car. Then I had to ask whether I needed to fill out paperwork, and the clueless guy said to come up front to do that. As I was starting to do that, it struck me, "Do I really want to trust guys who conduct business and treat customers this way with my car?" My answer: NO WAY! So I told the nice but clueless guy (someone who seemed like he really wanted to be helpful but whose hands were tied by the incompetence around him) never mind, that this place was too unprofessional. If this is your idea of a simple oil change, go for it. But I highly recommend Piedmont Shell on Grand Ave. I called them right after getting home, and the guy I spoke with seemed busy (the phone rang a lot before he answered) but was completely professional and scheduled an appointment for me at noon tomorrow and agreed that I could pick it up a couple hours later. The coupon on their site makes the oil change even cheaper than oil changes at the station I'm going to start calling "Anything-But-A-Walk-In-The-Park Boulevard 76." read more

I spent 2 weeks scouring Yelp reviews for a place that was either close to work (SOMA) or home (Glenview in Oakland) and had reasonable rates. After coming up with nothing and nearing the end of my rope -- my brakes were getting very close to grating, I looked up the gas station/repair just a block away from my house. I'd taken it for granted since it was so close and also because it's a gas station. I was pleasantly surprised. Service was awesome at a fair and reasonable price. I really felt like I could trust the shop's owner because he was pretty transparent and no-nonsense -- with a smile. Not only was it convenient for me (since all I had to do was walk a block from my house), they made it easy for me to get it repaired within less than a day. read more

I was a little wary when 76 took over this gas station (it was a Family-Owned Chevron for decades; My family moved in to the neighborhood in the late 50s and I believe the Chevron was already there. If not, it came soon thereafter.) But I love this gas station/new mangement and business. The gas at this place is typically cheaper than the gas prices in Montclair that ROB you. So if you're in need of gas and coming down the Park Blvd. way anyway, I'd say come here! I've never had any car maitenence done here, but always get my gas at this place. Also, when I'm out for a walk or coming home from work I sometimes go in to get a snack or drink. Whichever man that may be at the counter that day is always super nice and welcoming! Definitely my favorite gas station to give business to! read more

I've been coming to Dave for years. Until now he was dependable. I've had to take the car back to him three times now. He's had my car for over a month now. The heads need to be pulled and it's been three weeks. The heads need to be milled so you would think he would have pulled them. I have a 15 year old dog and this is the only car she can fit in comfortably. This is probably my last year with her. She's use to going with me everywhere and because of Dave's disregard my time will be limited with my dog. I am So upset. read more

Asked about an oil change in mid-January. I was quoted $38 for an oil change and tire rotation. A few weeks later, I took my car in and specifically asked for an oil change and tire rotation; told the guy at the desk that I had been quoted $38. He concurred. A few hours later, I went back and was handed a bill for nearly $100 - I was told: "we check everything." That's fine, but I asked for an oil change and tire rotation ONLY. I was expecting to pay $38 + tax. I am definitely NOT going back and advise prospective customers to beware of what they may be getting in to. read more

My entire family takes their cars to Dave at Park Blvd 76 for all work - regular maintenance, warranty work, and big jobs too. He is a rare mechanic - I trust him 100%. He goes the extra mile to find solutions to complex problems that save us money and keep us all happy. read more

I'm writing a review for the gas station itself and not the auto repair part of the business. I walk in yesterday to purchase a Rockstar Juiced Energy + Juice (Pomegranate Flavor) and had a "$2.49" sign right infront of the red colored Rockstar Juiced Energy + Juice (Pomegranate Flavor). Thinking that it's 2.49 plus tax plus crv, but no, this person that can barely speak english, seems to me the owner of the store tells me it's 2.99 plus tax plus crv and that small bottles are 2.49 which were two stacks above the sign. I walk over there to show where the signs were and he tries to move the sign, but guess what, it was tied with zip-tie and couldn't be moved. He still tells me it's 2.99....are you freakin' serious? I hope you get f*cking rich with that 50 cents. False advertisement..... whatever they say is the correct price...so BE AWARE read more

Came here to fill up my company van and was having issues with my gas card, spent more time than I wanted to in this terrible place. The cashier was nice and understanding but when I was getting ready to leave the owner drove up and started complaining that I was blocking the pumps. He was a real asshole about the whole thing, I definitely wouldn't come here for anything. read more

Dave ripped us off in the most brazen way. My wife brought our van in for a replacement catalytic converter and he charged her - we later found out - TRIPLE what we should have paid. Unethical at a minimum, straight robbery said plain. read more

Got my car back after a simple service and the whole thing SMELLS LIKE CIGARETTES. When I make comment to the man behind the desk he informs me nobody smokes there... Which is a blatant lie because I saw someone smoking when I dropped it off. The liar didn't even look up from his phone while he was speaking to me about it. read more

Fix the gas pumps! One has been broken for weeks, possibly months. Months later: still broken. read more

If you take your car here you'll get work done with pride, honesty and value. Dave and his crew are the kind of folks you can put your trust in and they won't disappoint you. I hope I stop driving before Dave stops fixing. read more

I now have all my (15 year old) car repairs done at Park Blvd. 76. Somehow, it clicked with me that "you get what you pay for", especially with a car running in its final years. The head mechanic, Dave, is all the other posters say, and definitely will not up-sell you on something. The restroom situation has long been resolved. It's all good at the 76 on Park Blvd. read more

I had a big job for my car, and not much money in the bank. My 1999 Subaru with somewhere around 200K had a leaky head gasket, and needed a significant engine repair. After some calling and much looking around I decided to give my local shop a try. I'm pleased to say while the repairs did come in just over the estimate from the shop, it was still less than some other estimates I received (and additional work was performed). The car doesn't have any leaks and sounds like new. And, afterword I noticed the AC wasn't working and the shop found the leak and fixed it for me for free. Thanks Dave, hopefully I'll get a few more years out of my classic Subaru. read more

I stopped here to have a screw removed from my tire which was causing a very slow leak. He removed the wheel from the car and put in a temporary string plug after removing the screw without unmounting the tire. Took about 10 minutes and he charged me $20. If you want a proper patch that will last for the life of the tire try Don's Tire over on Gilman in Berkeley. For $25 they will unmount the tire from the rim, inspect the damage and use a patch plug that is approved by the tire manufacturer. It takes about 30 minutes, but unless you plan on selling the car soon you'll be safer with a proper repair. read more

I have a 1992 Nissan. Many people consider that ridiculous, and my friends push me to buy a fancy new car. But why in the world would I go through the hassle and expense of getting a new car when mine works perfectly? And I have $300 a month more to spend on eating out than my friends do. :) Why does my old car run so well? Dave at Park Blvd 76. I would never go anywhere else. Dave is fast, polite, and HONEST. A month ago my clutch went out. I mean it was GONE...drove from South Bay to Oakland in 3rd gear (stick shift car). That was fun. Left it outside of Dave's on a Sunday night. Thought about the $1,000++ to replace the clutch and wondered if I should finally say goodbye. The note I left Dave said I was ready to pay for a new clutch, but if the car had other problems coming up, maybe not. He called me Monday morning and said it was just a stuck cable and would only cost $80 and be done that day! And it was! He could have replaced my clutch and I never would have known. Last year he also told me, "Your brakes should get some work done, but if you don't want to pay now they'll be fine for 6 months." What other mechanic would encourage you to save money and NOT get work done ASAP, with them? Take your car here. Thank you. read more

We have gone to the garage for years now with both our cars. In August we bought a new used car where one tail light didn't work. The seller warned us that the taillight was a repetitive problem he had had and his garage hadn't been able to fix it. We changed the tail light bulb and within 2 days it went out again. We then brought it to the David and his crew and they repaired it. Since then it has worked fine. We are very pleased with the quality of their work and we feel we can trust their recommendations. They have been very good at letting usknow what we must have repaired vs. what can wait. This is contrary to other experiences we have had. read more

I trust Dave with as many repairs of my car as I can. He is 100% up front honest and real. There isn't a lot of formality at the station, and they don't really take appointments, but I completely trust Dave with my car. He's also come through for me when I was in a real pinch, too. Flat tire, need to get to my teaching job; nail in the tire, fixed it on the spot. Lights out, in a rush, got to get to class: He's come through for me. It is unfathomable to me that anyone could accuse him of being dishonest. read more

Dave at the Park Blvd 76 station is fantastic and everything you want in a mechanic. He takes the time to consult and explain everything, he's knowledgable and does not up sell services that you don't need. Not only is the work class A he also makes sure that the car is not dirtier than when it came in. I have a light cloth interior in my car and everything shows and I never have to worry about it there. read more
