Update: Since…read morecontacting the store for feedback, the manager went out of his way to fix the situation by coming around my house to pick up the bike to take back to the store and fixing the remaining issues on the bike foc. He then brought it back to my house the next morning, all before business hours. I have to give credit to this effort and have since added 2 more stars to the original review. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I left my bike at the shop for servicing and I was advised that I will be contacted once the mechanic discussed what work was recommended. I was not contacted for over 2 weeks, during which I contacted the shop 3 times and was told each time that I will be contacted back by the mechanic who knew what was happening with the bike. When I was finally contacted 2 weeks later, I was told that work was completed and I was hit with a bill for over $1000. The shop had organised for both of my shocks to be serviced without me agreeing to the work. When I picked up the bike, I advised how disappointed I was and the staff apologetically advised that I will be contacted the next day to discuss what can be done about this. It has been over a week since then and I have not been contacted. I am extremely disappointed and I've lost confidence in 99 Bikes.

I looked up their number and texted Adam to see if I could get my bike serviced the following day. He got right back to me and I was booked in without any problems. I rode in and he arrived to open the shop right on 8am. A full service including parts cost just shy of 100 bucks and was done by lunchtime. Before replacing a few parts that cost a few bucks Adam even called to confirm that I wanted that done. Then when I picked the bike up he had all the old parts tied to the bike in a bag so that I could see what had been replaced, how worn out it was, etc. Apparently he also services strollers and wheelchairs as well. Really nice guy and an excellent service - I'll be back for sure.

Bike Hire at Sydney's olympic park offers a huge range of bikes for children and adults. Bicentennial park is massive and I've found that one of the best ways to explore the park is by hiring a bike or bringing your own. The park has dedicated cycle ways shared with pedestrians, so it's very safe and you can enjoy a long continuous ride without having to stop for cars. You could hire a bike for an hour, or for the entire day. The staff are very friendly and patient while explaining how the gears work, how to slow while going downhill and offer other safety tips. The bikes are well maintained too and of decent quality. They also have Tandem bikes, I think that's a lot of fun! Hiring a bike was a great way for me to realise my passion for mountain bikes and riding along trails. I hired a mountain bike couple of times, before buying my own. I did enquire about buying the bike from Bike Hire itself, but they asked me to contact the Centennial Parklands Bike Hire in the city as thats the parent company. Meh.. Decided to head over to Anaconda, less than 5 minutes from Bicentennial park and buy from there instead. If you do head to Bicentennial Park, hire a bike, the park is massive and there's lots to see and discover.

I bought a North face jacket there recently and I'm amazed at the quality. I'm aware that the quality has to do with individual brands and not really with Anaconda, but I bought the Jacket at about 50 percent off and in other stores, the discounted items are just heaped in the sales bin and usually you have to hunt to find something thats not torn or lost a zipper. At Anaconda, the discounted goods were still on the racks and in perfect condition. The quality is maintained. If you are looking for a mountain bike, you cannot go past Anaconda. The sales guy (happened to be the manager) offered me an unbelievable deal on a mountain bike. I was looking for a Fluid Bike, but as they didn't have it in my size, he offered to sell me a Jamis bike at the same discounted price of Fluid Bikes. Amazing! I walked, scratch that, Rode out of the store, happily! They have Kayaks that you can try before buying in the pool located outside the showroom. Imagine Kayaking inside a Mall! They also have a climbing wall indoors.

Anaconda has moved from one end of this shopping centre to the other. It is a smaller store. The…read moreshopping Centre seems to have two names either Lidcombe Power Centre or Auburn Power Centre. It is opposite Costco on Parramatta Road. It was a bit of a white elephant when it was built and it looks a shocker atm. Parking is only available on the top level and can only be accessed at the back of the building. You have a bit of a walk through the place and there are no food shops or smaller shops anymore. We still got what we wanted and at a discount but unless you want to go to Spotlight or a party shop there will be no other incidental shopping.
