The granddaughter and I visit this location pretty much every time she visits. They have a huge selection of used clothing. It takes a while to go through everything. But we hang in there! On our last visit, I mistakenly left my purse in a shopping cart, and am Very Happy to report that my purse was behind the counter when I returned -- with everything, including cash, still in it. I am a huge Park Avenue Thrift fan and was excited about checking out this location. I walked away disappointed. First off, I had to stand in the parking lot waiting for someone to finish with their shopping cart because there were so few available. I am used to finding tons of treasures at Park Avenue. Not today. If you sign up for their text messages,they send you coupons every day. It normally is for half off with the exception of a specific color tag. Often the prime items are this color and not half off. But you can still find plenty of things that are half off. Not the case with this location. It seemed like the majority of decent items were tagged with the color that was not on sale. The space is smaller than some of the other locations. But packed. There are upper and lower racks in most of the store and they are full. So if you are willing to take the time you will surely find some great things. I was turned off by how messy the store was. I know it has more to do with the shoppers than the employees, but things were thrown on the floor all over the store. It made it hard to push my buggy around because I didn't want to run over the merchandise. I did walk out with two items, but not the big bag full that I normally find. If I was in the area, I would stop in again but I definitely would not make a special trip. read more

Mask not required even though we are in a pandemic. Not even a single employee wearing one. Most customers are very rude, pushing you out of way, not maintaining 6 feet distance etc. Employees are sometimes rude as well. Don't pick up toys, clothes, shoes, hangers in floors till after closing so walking through or pushing buggy with ease is a problem as it gets later in the days. A rule they have is parents keeping kids with them but don't enforce this so be ready to trip over someone's kid because they run under your feet. While there is a lot of cons, you can find some gems if you look hard enough. read more

Large clothing selection, but poorly organized. Largest mens shoes selection in the area; have found some great gems. Pricing is good. Non clothing item selection is poor,furniture and hardware being virtually nonexistent. The remaining household goods are basically arranged into a pile of $5 grab bags with a selection of often unrelated items. One could spend time to inspect each carefully, and occasionally find something valuable or useful, but then end up throwing away the rest of the bundled items. Avoid going later in the day on sales events; anything that remained on the shelves will probably be on the floor. read more

The stores used to have senior day on Wednesday but the manager of the Jessie Jewell store said tat because the seniors were buying all of the good stuff. As most people make it to be the senior age, stores like this help us to be able to eat and dress decent but thanks to the younger people's complaints they have changed the rules so I hope that if they are able to live to be that age maybe somebody will care a little about them read more

I love park avenue thrift but this isn't my favorite location. Water from the celling dripped on me while I was shopping and there was no carts or baskets. Also, I've found that there's always atleast two homeless persons sitting in the same corner by the kids toys. Who I might add, love to stare at younger girls. Speaking of younger girls, I was in there today for the 50% off "sale" with my friend when an older man started following her through the aisles. He left the store once he saw her come up to me. I guess he was expecting her to be alone. Nothing serious happened but I can't help but wonder what would've if she was there by herself. Finally, the "sale" isn't worth it considering how it excludes certain colored tagged items which happens to make up 75% of the inventory. With all of this said, I would suggest going to a Salvation Army Family store instead if there is one near you. On Wednesdays everything is 25% off there (no exclusions). They do not properly advertise. First they say that they have 50% off on Sundays but they do not mention you need to spend $25 or more earlier in the week. Also we tried to visit at 7:53 p.m. knowing they close at 8:00 p.m. because it says so on the website. We were greeted with an attitude and a not so friendly welcome. If you need to clean up then please say that you close at an earlier time. There were people still shopping but we were not able to grab a specific item we have seen earlier. Prices are good, customer service is not. I wouldn't recommend unless you like unfriendly environments. read more
