His team is a well-oiled machine, extremely professional, very courteous and considerate. I felt completely comfortable with his team working on my home and around my family. I live in an 1850's updated farmhouse outside of Newburyport, MA. I hired mike initially in 2023 to replace a large wooden gutter and freeze board on my home. I'm particular and wanted to make sure we kept the new work in keeping with the character and of our home. Mike and team nailed it. I hired Mike again in September of 2026 replace all the wooden trim around the windows in the back of our house with PVC. I hesitated to touch one window trim because it had a very lovely, original molding. All the other windows in the back were replaced with plain, flat stock by the gentleman who renovated the home prior to our purchase. To my surprise and delight Mike and his supervisor Odie took it upon themselves and chose to replicate the original molding from the window mentioned, on all of the windows surrounds they replace! There was no up-selling just a very thoughtful, generous value add. Now the back of our home looks exponentially better thanks to Mike and team. They will continue to be our go-to contractors as we update our home's exterior and roofing. I highly recommend Meadow's Construction.

We had mounted our own drywall during a finished basement rebuild, but we wanted a professional to tape/mud and sand. Vinny was polite, professional and did a wonderful job. The job took several visits as our basement is quite cool and it took some time for the mud to dry. He was very accommodating, prioritizing around our stairs first so our carpenter could finish some work. He kept a very clean job site- we barely had any dust make its way upstairs, which we were very happy about. His prices were also very reasonable and he was spot on with his arrival/departure times. Overall we are very pleased with his work and highly recommend him. We will certainly be calling him for future drywall work!

This lead to my hiring him to paint a really tricky damp carport interior at the beach. The wallboard was mildewed and Josh helped recommend the right products to clean and kill the mold, keep the stains from reappearing, and protect the walls from further moisture problems. Josh quoted me a fair price and completed the work very quickly. I'm very satisfied with the results and will likely use him again for future painting projects.

This otherwise reputable painting company was contracted to paint 5 rooms (kitchen, three bathrooms…read moreand a finished basement room), a foyer and a hallway in our house during a renovation. When it was "completed" we noticed that there was (1) no signs of any wall prep/sanding/repair, (2) primer paint visible throughout after they claimed to paint "two coats" of wall color paint and (3) areas of the bathroom with no new primer or paint. They used our hot water heater's emergency tap to clean their paint sprayer, leaving an inch of black dust over the entire heater closet. They left a ladder and several tools behind for 3 months. We did give FTP a chance to fix (or honestly complete) the original two coats during a follow-up walk-through that we requested. The manager was belligerent and irritated by us bringing attention to large swaths of unpainted wall and he consistently denied those areas had not "had two coats applied". Regardless, another painter from their company came some time later and did some trim work that was unfinished and some touch up. But two of the bathrooms remain half finished and will require us to personally re-paint their "professional work". To have a local favorite painter in town treat our local house carelessly hurt a lot. We understand that summer labor shortages sometimes mean hiring less qualified and experienced painters but this was a sub-DIY job and seemed to be an inconvenience. Which would be fine if we were not paying premium painter prices.

Mike said he could repair, but once ripped up, said the deck needed to be replaced (we specifically addressed this ahead of time and he did not say that)! Then he went to the front porch. He stated that it could use a semi gloss stain (not oil based) on the mahogany deck and that it couid look the same as it was (was already in great shape). After power washing, he questioned what he was going to use and I asked him to not do the porch and just do the front steps. I was surprised to find him doing the porch the next day (not steps) and even more surprised when he told me he didn't like the look of the stain he tried and recommend sanding down the entire deck and starting from scratch!! I told him I didn't want to do this, reminded him that I asked him to not do the porch and only do the stairs, and shared my concern for charging me for work I didn't authorize! it is frustrating that both jobs that he said he committed to doing resulted in failure, but even more frustrating was charging me for hours he worked on the front porch (trying to see what it would look like) and saying he didn't like it (it was awful) and refusing to refund me for work that wasn't authorized!

DJ and his crew were meticulous in the two jobs they have completed for us so far…read more The first job was a really difficult stain job on bare stairs built into an addition. It required back breaking sanding, filling nail holes and preparation for stain. Then the stain and poly coat both had to be zero VOC for an allergy in the family. DJ worked so hard to make this request happen and look as good as easier products available for an everyday job. The stain color is a perfect match to what I had explained I wanted and the stairs look gorgeous. In the next job, DJ painted the new trim, doors, cabinets, touched up the addition room as well as painted our existing kitchen to tie it all together. He went out of his way to smooth out some rough plaster work from the drywall crew and again remembered to use zero VOC products. The painting work is so meticulous and no brush marks are visible anywhere. And the clean up was as if we had hired someone to come in and clean. Highly recommend Prestige Coatings for any painting and will be using them again soon. Prices are reasonable especially for the quality of work you receive.

I received the welcome email once we signed and completed our contract with Winter Hill GC to take on our building's siding repairs. We then immediately sent the check for the first payment to the office and were excited to move forward with the project. The next form of communication (which I am not sure it would qualify as) was a refund check that we received in the mail 11 days later. There was no notice, explanation or additional context provided, just a check. Thinking there may have been some kind of mistake, I followed up with the individual who we had been working with (for months leading up to this, mind you) and the general email/phone number that was provided via the "Welcome Email". 5 days went by, no call, email, text, nothing. Finally, I was able to get in touch with our main point of contact (only after I was the one to follow up). I was told that they were sorry but they decided they did not want to honor the signed contract and no longer had interest in doing the work. Still no written communication from Winter Hill that this was the case. I am typically not one to write these kind of reviews but wanted others to be aware of this incident and advise to look elsewhere. To summarize, I'll reference the Co-founder & CEO of Winter Hill General Contractor, Claudio's comments in the welcome email - do NOT expect to be treated as "family", do NOT expect to be updated every step of the way, and do NOT expect them to get back to you if you have any questions. DO expect that after you sign the contract/submit the first payment you will receive a refund in the mail 11 days later, with no absolutely no explanation or other communication. THAT is the Winter Hill General Contractor Difference!
