After we left Daniel's Antiques, I COULD say that I had looked through a $65,000 pair of binoculars. We kept passing this place and it is literally filled with gigantic, old school military binoculars. I finally insisted on going in to get a closer look at them. These binoculars were incredible - one was a periscope that was used on the Berlin wall, another was from the Japanese military during WWII. The owner talked about each pair in detail when he saw how interested we were. Super nice guy. We obviously weren't going to be buying anything, but we talked for awhile about binoculars. I didn't realize there was a market for old school binoculars, but I guess you learn something new everyday, right? This store also has vintage Louis Vuitton, sculptures, chess sets, sets. Very cool place - a must see in Aspen.

I'm not sure if that was just because it was the holiday season, but they did not allow anyone in the store without being accompanied by an associate. Once I was paired, the associate gave me a complimentary cocktail and started sizing me for hats. I did feel she was a bit pushy, heavily suggesting certain colors even when I shared my own preferences. As I started on accessories, I did not feel like I was being shown all of the options and only those with a price tag over $1000 (on top of the price of the hat itself). I took it upon myself to search and find what I really liked, but the pushiness of the associate made the experience less enjoyable and rather stressful. Overall I am happy with my purchase, but I would recommend anyone coming in to come prepared with the style you want because the process can be overwhelming otherwise.
