Not only was the class perfect, well structured, and well equipped, but Anderson Ranch is just one of the most wonderful places to spent a week of vacation, while learning something cool and enjoying the Colorado mountains. The dorms a a bit sparse, but that isn't a complaint:-) Meeting very nice people, you wont spent much time in the dorm anyway. I saw the pottery people pull all-nighters all the time. It is just so much fun to do your own studies, watch others do very creative stuff (painting, wood work, pottery, etc.), and enjoy evening speakers events with truly inspiring Artists. They have a great cafeteria (with a delicious changing menu, always incl. a vegetarian option), a meeting hall, store with art materials and art pieces from the ranch, child care, and more. Each course had its own ranch house. Very cool! I hope I can be back soon, for another class.

First, it's a beautiful setting near Aspen. You can get good rates on accommodations in the summer, which is their low season or you can stay at the ranch in the dorms. The ranch is beautiful and the workshops are excellent. They bring in some of the most talented artists to teach ceramics, sculpture, wood working, print making, photography, painting and more. It's a place for creativity and exploration. Plus the food is good and the environment is inspiring.

Our first framing needs out here, I approached with a little trepidation, but I shouldn't have been concerned at all. The Framer at Main Street Gallery, specifically Cate, took our first couple of framing projects, a modest work of art that nonetheless had great sentimental value to us, plus a simple photograph and paw impression of our recently deceased dog (lost to cancer). I had some idea of how I wanted the pieces done, amd Cate did a wonderful job of helping me settle on styles, materials, and colors. She thoroughly explained options like types of glass. Then, Cate and her team quickly completed the work with a very high level of quality of work, and at a price, like my old framers, that was not inexpensive but that I consider a wonderful value.
