Disappointed. Treated myself to blow out. Paid $65 (not including tip) for one hour with scalp massage and hot towel treatment. Lasted 40 minutes and no scalp massage or hot towel treatment. Brought to their attention and told it was a mistake but that's what I booked for. (Showed them their own website where it states it.) Hair poorly washed that it was still dirty at roots. Hair was not styled well. Had to rewash. I don't treat myself to blow outs and I was really looking forward to this. I picked this place based on offerings they listed and positive reviews. :( read more

This used to be a 5-star review wishing I could rate it higher. For near the first year I lived in CT I was there every week for multiple services. It slowed a bit when I started getting my hair done closer to home because no one there could cut it right (my hair is complex). Since I still went for color and nails and waxing I had a consult with a woman my colorist recommended but then she was let go when new owners came in - and that's when the downfall of Paris started. Since I had to find the right person for the cuts I ended up getting it all done locally again minus the occasional blowout. Then Rob, whose family owned this salon for decades, left for Salon Leo. Then my other favorite stylist Daniela was let go. The new ownership who clearly knew nothing about running a high end salon for Manhattan refugees was not only cutting good staff but also cutting the class and style the place was adorned with; the happy fun energy that the previous owner always had was gone. They never welcomed me once. The *former* front desk manager was all that was left of the grace and beauty up front and she was gone. I stuck with it because Justine is perfection for nails, waxing, facials, you name it. Her room was a sanctuary where I felt safe. Then they split it in two with a junior person and it was no longer relaxing - and the pink bubble gum high end in the Midwest maybe decor spilled over into the room. I could not be happier that Justine opened her own day spa (Serene Day Spa in Wilton) and I canceled my appts and never have to go back there -- even if I have to drive further now. Overtime I went from spending near $1K a month to the bare minimum because the ownership change killed what was special about Paris. I used to rave that it saved me after I moved to CT when regretting leaving Midtown but it became cringe -- and I'm not young enough to use that term. I know many friends I referred that are already leaving to follow Justine and left to follow Rob. There are good stylists there - Gina and Theresa - but is it worth it? No. 1000 times no. They are great but the owners don't even acknowledge you. I've never seen such a thing. I'm sure the new owners will comment in defense of this and they absolutely have the right to run their own business into obscurity. I'll never read it. I'm mourning the Paris I knew and its legacy. But at least I can get great service in high energy, beautiful places now. I wish them luck but I don't think success is in the cards unless they get less defensive about former client feedback and listen to what made the place a star in the first place. read more

I just moved to the east coast from Los Angeles, and have been struggling to find a stylist that can provide my favorite L.A. cut (stacked bob). I've had four attempts! Haircuts are fine, nothing special but customer service and organization is pretty terrible. I've only had 4 appointments here and three of the four times they called and canceled my appointment, with very little notice. This last time was less than one day away and I had a cut and style planned for an event, leaving me in the lurch. Not reliable at all; take your business elsewhere Edit to add in reply to the business's response: appreciate the reply and the offer, but not the attempt to discredit me. I have no missed calls from the salon and in fact received a confirmation email about the appointment yesterday and confirmed it. My first appointment was with Hanane, they called the day of and asked me to change the time, which I did. Second booking with her, I was contacted week of and told I needed to reschedule. Rescheduled, and then week of the rescheduled appointment I was contacted and told Hanane left the salon and I needed to use a new stylist. I tried the new stylist and it went fine- she was perfectly nice and did a decent job. I booked my next appointment while I was there and then got called today that it's cancelled for tomorrow. Not to mention, I'm getting married in a month and was new to town so looking to establish a new stylist so I felt good leading up to the wedding, and now I'll be starting from scratch. For Men - Rob is the best barber I've been too. I get my haircut every 2 weeks and I've never left Paris unsatisfied. The entire place is well run, friendly, and professional. I've built a relationship with multiple members there over the years and I couldn't imagine getting a haircut anywhere else. Often times men don't think to take a look at a Salon to get a haircut - but I can assure you its well worth it!!! read more

I love Paris Salon! I get my hair cut, colored with highlights and root touch-ups, plus I get full leg waxes. Everyone I have had had been terrific. Justine is the best waxer! I have been waxing for 20+ years and have gone to MANY places. This is the first time I leave with all hair removed and NO ITCHING with regrowth! She is fantastic and a really funny conversationalist. I have my hair colored and cut by Dani and Izze. Both are very talented. Izze gives the best blow-dry ever. You know when you can't stop staring at your hair because you love it so much? That is what happens when you leave the Paris Salon. Plus the venue is so beautiful with the remodel. Has a high-end homey vibe. It's just such a comfortable and beautiful space with wonderful natural light. Oh! And I love that the hair technician is also the person who washes your hair. Some salons have multiple people working on you and then it gets complicated with how much to tip everyone. Here the ladies do it all themselves so you can just generously tip one technician. :) I am so grateful I found this adorable spot and highly recommend. read more

This salon for me was a bad experience. I asked them to color my hair salt and pepper. I showed them a picture of what I wanted. They never said that they couldn't do what I wanted. 7 hours and $500 later I walked out of there blonde. I was not happy with the results. I went back a few days later and they colored my hair again making it darker but still not anything like the picture. After washing my hair a couple of times I was back to blonde. I called the salon and spoke to the owner. I told her I need her to see my hair in person. I meet with her and showed her the picture of what I wanted. I was so frustrated that I just told them to match my natural color. I don't want to be blonde. They kind off did that, but they charged me $75 to do this. I will not be going back!! read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. What started out as a nice local salon with fair prices got greedy with their prices. Not everyone is made of money and some people want to get their hair done on a budget, especially in this economy. I recently glanced at the prices online to confirm I made the right decision by stop coming here and I saw it was $100 for a single process retouch (when you have short hair) which is outrageous. So $145 for a haircut and single process root retouch is outrageous. I don't know what happened to Paris Salon but they got greedy. There are cheaper/less greedy places to go to. I guess we know how they paid for their renovation and pay their yearly team building trips...by screwing over the customers with greedy price hikes. For context, it's cost $75-85 for a hair cut and single process retouch where I went to college. And it's a shame because I enjoyed coming to Paris Salon. But their greed is out of control. read more

I recently got my hair cut short for the summer and if I didn't think I knew what I was doing with it before, I definitely had no clue what to do with it now. Everyday driving into town, I pass by Paris Salon. This week I saw that they had a Blow Out Special, $25.00 for a wash and blow-dry. I quickly called Saturday morning expecting them to say that they were booked for the day, as Saturdays are usually very busy in the salon world. The nice girl who picked up the phone said that they had an opening at 9:45 and to come on in. I went in for my appointment which was super easy to find. Park around the back and Paris is up the back stairs to the right. I was greeted by a very cheery blonde girl with beautiful hair named Isabella. She brought me over to her station. The reason why I give it 4 stars and not 5 is that the chairs at the salon are very small. I admit that I have gained a little bit of weight in the past year, falling in love can do that to you, you know. The chairs are very pretty, but only the small can truly fit into them. They look comfortable with big leather arms and I was not comfortable. I was not about to say anything to them at the time for fear of embarrassment, but wanted to let you all know. I just wanted to point out that if you are larger that a size 10, you may find it difficult sitting in the salon chair. Everything else went well, Isabella did a beautiful job on my hair, and even finished off the do with a cute braid in the front. She was great at making conversation, and I was in and out in 30 min. I will return, but maybe after I loose a few. haha read more

I first went to this salon after purchasing a Groupon. I liked the stylist, and she did a really good job. The salon offered me another cut at the Groupon price, so I purchased that for future use. When I returned I had the same stylist. This time she was detached, impersonal, and didn't remember me. I told her I had a very important performance coming up, at which she grunted, then proceeded to give me the the worst cut ever. Three weeks later, after girlfriends telling me my hair looked terrible, I had to go somewhere else to get a proper cut. I am new to the area and really wanted to like this local salon. make sure you patch test before getting coloring. they did not advise me to do this and I didn't think of it at the time. I should have gotten a patch test first to test for any reactions/allergies to their high-chemical colors. coloring job was done well, however, although a bit too dark...the stylist didn't miss anything! take your time working on a color that you really want. I chose too fast. make sure you discuss all options. friendly atmosphere there, relaxing and nice boutique with accessories. read more

My previous salon in town was not working for me anymore so I decided to give Paris a try. I found the staff to be very warm and welcoming. My stylist Sara patiently listened to all my concerns and being fairly fussy about my hair, I have to admit, I was a bit scared. Lucky for me I had one of the best hair experiences ever. I got a beautiful, flattering cut along with a nice new color that works with my skin tone rather than fighting it. I used to get my hair cut here - but given up after all the many changes they've made. First - way too many staircases to climb. One set outside..then you go in - to climb another. Folks are pleasant but way too many folks just standing around. There are plenty of decent stylists - but I was reluctant to put my purse on the floor - with all the hair I could see from previous clients that had yet to be swept cleanly. There was even hair that had been tracked down the stairs to the mats below - so after years of being a client - I just had to say...I'm done! Too bad! It's not that much cheaper than Adam Broderick's but the service experience isn't even close! read more

I like the atmosphere here, but I have been several times to have grey hair colored and the color formula they recommend is too dark and doesn't cover grey very well at all. After multiple visits (this last one costing me north of $170) I learned there is a more robust color formula that performs better with resistant greys. I now have banding stripes, and greys popping out that look like dandruff because they weren't ever dealt with and have grown out enough to be 5-6" from scalp now. I have attempted to convey this, politely to the various colorists I have seen, but the result is the same. I fork over a lot of dough and leave utterly dumbstruck and disappointed. The worst part is, they leave it to me to discover. They don't mention it while they are drying my hair. How could they not see this?!? That's the dumbstruck part. 4.8.2017 - FOLLOW UP: Stacey, Paris Salon owner, just phoned me and is adamant about working with Redken and her color specialist team to correct my hair color and hopefully mask these resistant greys. Fingers crossed, but appreciative of the outreach on their part. First world problems. I should probably just let my hair go grey, but I haven't the nerve yet. read more

I've been coming to Paris after finding out where a friend got her amazing haircut. I gladly left another place in town that had become too big and impersonal. Tina, one of the stylists at Paris, is a wizard; I receive compliments on my cut all the time. My husband has been going to Louis for years.
