With Blanche's help I converted one half bath in my guest room into a full bath with a gorgeous glass enclosed shower, and converted the only full bath into an en-suite for my master bedroom with an amazing clawfoot tub and separate glass enclosed shower. I am incredibly happy. Blanche and I partnered throughout the design and construction phases which was very important to me as I had strong ideas about what I wanted. Blanche's overall approach to the project was very professional and organized starting with meetings to understand my goals, coming back with design ideas and samples so that I could start to see the possibilities. As with any project, we ran into challenges during the construction phase and Blanche was very helpful in navigating those challenges so that we could achieve our vision and complete the project. It is an absolute pleasure now to get ready in the mornings! I had a guest stay with me recently and she commented that she felt like she was staying in a five star hotel! That says it all!!! Thank you Blanche for your wonderful partnership and for creating two gorgeous baths! For anyone looking for an interior designer, I highly recommend BR Nelson Designs.

Angelika is kind, classy, swift, and excellent. I had a somewhat complex "small project" problem…read morethat she solved beautifully. She came up with an idea that had not occurred to me and had the contractors to execute flawlessly. I am so happy and would work with her on bigger projects too based on this experience. The situation was most challenging in the living room because the space was dominated by a huge and colorful Persian rug plus a voluminous antique, both of which we love and preferred to keep. We had been told by several highly regarded designers we had interviewed previously that the rug and the antique in that living room were in the way of a successful redecoration and thus "had to go." But then we met Angelika, and she didn't think ours was a case of "Mission Impossible." She rose to the challenge with open-mindedness, imagination, flexibility and sensitivity to art, space and design. She found ways to mix, match and move around existing furnishings, art and fixtures while guiding us to new pieces, exquisite fabrics and excellent suppliers. The artwork was displayed in a manner such that connections were made within each room and also from one room to the next - a visually stunning achievement. The result is a beautiful, space-efficient, and thematically coherent new whole. Congratulations, Angelika!

Even though I did not hire this architect company as I live in another state, I have received assistance in determining the colors after struggling to come up with a color scheme since my hubby and I are in the process of repainting the exterior of our home. John, the assistant was very helpful. Gil Schafer is the owner. The sample of their work is wonderful and because of their help per this nature, I know the company would stand behind their services. We wanted to renovate our Mid-century apartment kitchen and did not know where to start. Louis put us in touch with Intelligent Kitchen, a design firm in New York City. Louis also filed the necessary paperwork with our co-op board and set up our chosen start date Once the work began Luis and his team we're there every day and let us know in advance when they would not be there. LB construction created a plastic wall with a zippered door, which allowed for us to remain in our apartment during the renovation. We were amazed by the flawless execution of the cabinet and appliance delivery and installation. We were told the entire project would take eight weeks. Louis and LB General Construction completed most of the work in four weeks. We were shocked that it was completed ahead of schedule. And yes the new kitchen looks amazing.

From the initial consultation and competitive quote to the last days of the project, Louis was incredibly engaged, helpful and responsive. In the early stages, Louis helped with the submission to our co-op's managing agent and addressed their frequent questions (not an easy task). During the course of the project Louis worked hand-in-hand with our design team from Intelligent Kitchen (also great), kept the project on schedule and ensured the work was done properly. He reached out with suggestions along the way and helped us quickly navigate any unforeseen issues that popped up. We enthusiastically recommend LB General Construction and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

What stood out immediately was that she didn't just try to "sell" me a bathroom. She actually paid attention to how I live day to day and designed the space around that. She noticed little things I didn't even think about, like where lighting should hit the mirror, storage that wouldn't make the room feel crowded, and materials that looked expensive without feeling cold or overly trendy. The biggest difference with NYKB was that the process never felt chaotic. Usually when people talk about renovations it's horror stories, delays, and constantly chasing people down. I never felt that here. Everything felt intentional and handled. Maia somehow managed to make a renovation feel calm, which I didn't think was possible. Now that it's finished, my bathroom genuinely feels like part of a luxury hotel suite but still personal and comfortable. Everyone who comes over comments on it immediately. Looking back, choosing NYKB was probably the best decision I made for the project. Maia has an eye that's very hard to find.
