I was in Toronto for the weekend. We had a tour picking us up pretty early and this was one of the few places open early that was close to our hotel. There are plenty of tables if you want to sit awhile or you can take it to go. There is a huge variety of baked goods- both sweet and savory. Paris Baguette is a bakery chain that originated from South Korea. This particular location is located along Bloor St. W. near Avenue Rd. Paris Baguette offers a wide variety of baked goods, ranging from cakes, pastries (croissants, scones, cruffins, crookies, danishes, etc.), breads, sandwiches/wraps, tarts, etc. They have coffee and non-coffee beverages available as well. Oftentimes they also have seasonable goodies that are available for a limited time. You are also able to order off their phone app as well. I decided to visit Paris Baguette for a quick snack. Upon entering, this location feels sleek and minimalistic, with light wooden touches throughout. The pastries are all on display in a glass display in the centre of the store where you grab tongs and a tray (or takeout bag) to grab your own goodies (self-service). The cakes/tarts are also on display but refrigerated where you have to ask staff to pack them for you. There is also a grab and go area filled with breads, sandwiches, and wraps. There is also some seating available if you'd like your food and drinks to have there. I opted to grab a pastel de nata. There was a small line for the cashier but it moved quickly. During my quick interaction with staff they were friendly. I had my pastel de nata elsewhere and it tasted ok. I've had other pastries from Paris Baguette from another location so I knew their baked goods were decent (a bit on the pricey side though!). Sometimes you also do get some deals on the app if you check from time to time (like a free birthday slice on your birthday!). The sheer variety amazes me and I appreciate the Asian fusion in the baked goods and everything was gorgeous and delicious. I got the curry croquette and it was delightfully crispy with the fried exterior and flavorful with curry inside, the mocha donuts were quite good as well and the salted caramel tart was god-like. Be warned that there isn't much seating area, even on a week day and it is pricey but I would say it's worth it, definitely a more elevated bakery experience. read more

I'm really disappointed with this location. For context -- Paris Croissant is the premium brand in Korea, and Paris Baguette is the lower-tier franchise under it. While Paris Baguette is popular back in Korea, the ones in Canada just feel... off. The biggest problem here is the staff attitude -- it's honestly terrible. In Korea, the service is always polite and professional, but this place feels totally unorganized and untrained. Probably because it's a lower tier franchise, not a direct company-owned store. I've been here time to time but this time was the worst. This morning, I said "Good morning" and called an employee over to the cake display where nearby entrance to ask for a cake. There were no other customers, but two staff members just stood behind the register, which is further inside, completely ignoring me after saying good morning back to me. They did reply but just stood there, I waived my hands to ask them to come over three times, but still they just stood there! So I went counter, and she told me, "You need to come to the counter to ask." I've bought cakes from this location several times. They always! Always, came to the cake display. And No other stores ask customer to come over to the counter first before choosing the cake, who does that??? Do they expect customers to shout across the store? lol Not even sure why they had that attitude, What do they expect? Honestly, this kind of service would never happen anywhere in the world. My absolute go to place for a quick bite and post Pilates. My favourite things to get from there are the pastry frank & the very berry pastry. Honourable mentions to the coffee croissant & king cream donut. Reminds me of the cafes in Seoul I went to, everything is somehow perfectly fresh even if it's the end of the day. Stopped by Paris Baguette in Yorkville, and it was a bit of a mixed experience. Service was slow, even though it wasn't too busy, which made the visit feel longer than expected. The café itself is bright and inviting, but unfortunately, the coffee and most of the food items were pretty underwhelming. That said, the cakes and pastries are definitely the highlight! Paris Baguette is known for its beautifully crafted cakes, flaky croissants, and sweet treats like their strawberry soft cream cake. I also tried their mochi donuts, and they were a fun, chewy, and lightly sweet treat--definitely a must-try if you love that texture. Paris Baguette has landed at 110 Bloor Street West, marking their second Toronto location. If you're a fan of baked goods, get ready to be spoiled for choice! Croissants, fruit pastries, donuts, quiches, bread, cakes (because, let's be real, life is short--eat the cake), and of course, baguettessss--plenty of them! Having been a regular at their first store, I can vouch for the top-notch quality and freshness of their offerings. Every time I leave with an armful of almond croissants (my better half's absolute favorite), I'm practically beaming. But today... well, something was a little off. Despite the fact that the store keeper handed me an almond croissant straight from the tray, it was a bit harder to bite into and didn't have the usual freshness I've come to expect. Could it be opening day jitters? The place was buzzing, after all, and with so many customers to satisfy, maybe the baked goods got a little overwhelmed too! On the bright side, the interior of the new Bloor Street store is a win. It's larger and better designed than the first location, with a few cozy tables for those who want to stay for a coffee (and if you haven't tried their hazelnut coffee, do yourself a favor--it's fantastic). All in all, it's a great addition to the Bloor West scene, nestled between Burberry, Tiffany, and Winners. I was surprised to discover that they only serve their otherwise good coffees in awful (usual) take out, environmentally unfriendly, disposable containers. Do they not know that no one at 110 Bloor St. West wants to consume coffee from a paper or plastic cup Indoors? If you don't mind white flour, white sugar, white bread, and other less than healthy ingredients, you may like the wide array of pastries. As a bakery, Paris Baguette is great, especially its great selection of pastries - savoury, sweet, cakes, sandwiches - it has it all. And the food is fresh with regular refilling of stock from the kitchen. As a cafe however, Paris Baguette is disappointing - especially the relatively small number of seats, and the general layout of the store. The coffee is also very ordinary - especially given the prices. So go for the baked goods, don't expect to linger and don't bother with the coffee. read more

This bakery which just opened on Bloor Street is a disappointment. The atmosphere is chaotic - not relaxing at all. The staff do not seem to know their jobs. I asked one person if they have gluten free pastries. She directed me to a muffin which, when I asked for the ingredients, turned out not to be gluten free at all. The staff behind the counter preparing the orders were disorganized. I had to wait an inordinate amount of time for an order of a coffee and a tea. The place has no authentic neighbourhood vibe at all. It is clearly just a private equity owned chain that makes no attempt at to convey a customer-centric approach.
