Very good empanada. Fresh, hot, good flavor. Little on the pricey side but so is everything else at Liberty station. They are premade so they came out quick. It's inside the Liberty Public Market.

Parana is an Argentinian bakery in the Liberty Station Marketplace. They specialize in empanadas, I have to admire those who know how to make them! It's a mini "pocket" sandwich that can be sweet or savory, depending on the filling. At Parana, the menu has Chicken, Beef, Spinach with Cheese, Mushroom with Cheese & Onion, Margherita pizza style, and more! I ordered the 3 pack: Chipotle Chicken, 5-Cheese and Margherita (my fave with tomato, basil and cheese). They have 3 dipping sauces, I chose Chimichurri and Creamy Green Olive. It was perfect, the flavors enhanced the overall taste of the Empanadas. Make it a meal with a garden salad and Lemonade or Latte. For dessert, they have Alfajores. It's a cookie sandwich filled with Dulce de Leche $3.70; or with Chocolate for $5.00 each. The daily special is buy 6 and get one free. That's a sweet deal for sharing! Order online to save time, there is always a line, which does move quickly so don't be discouraged, a fresh batch is in the works. Sincerely, Rosemary

Consistent, friendly and great selection of empanadas. We got to Liberty station a little early and they already had their empanadas hot and ready. I really like the chicken flavors most of all, but the beef choices are also quite delicious. They have many veggie options and a new flavor: hot Italian. Don't forget to get their house made sauces, so good! This is a stop I made every time when visiting this fantastic food collection. Take some home too, they reheat nicely.

I really like getting empanadas from here. Such a treat. Now they have a stall at the OB farmers market. The difference is that they are fried at the market vs baked at Liberty station. I got the mushroom, chicken and spinach. I liked the mushroom the most- had great flavor. The spinach was alright, very heavy cream which my stomach didn't like. The chicken was tomato based so I knew I may be pushing it since my stomach is sensitive to acids and spices. Glad I was able to revisit a memory!

We ordered a dozen to try a bit of each. The crust is thinner and the filling is more creamier. We will be back. We enjoyed trying the different flavors. Fun place to come as this place is one of many restaurants under one roof.

This place has great empanadas. We were visiting Liberty Station grabbing small items from various food, places there to try things out, and we stumbled upon this place and ordered a beef empanada. The dough was perfectly cooked and nice and soft and the filling had tons of flavor and great texture. I highly recommend this place if you like empanadas!

Parana empanadas have a nice consistency, their pumpkin flavor is surprising, with consistent filling and stuffed to the brim.

After we ordered some food at another stall, we sat at the table in front of Parana. And the line was never long BUT it never stopped, so you know what this means...we had to give it a try. We ordered Chipotle Chicken, Five Cheese and Malbec Beef. We ended up taking it home because we were stuffed. The one star off is because instead of five cheese we recover chicken. But added another star because well out of the 3, we loved the chicken the best. All were good but the chicken was great. The dough is not as flaky as Filipino empanadas which is what I'm used to but still very good. I see why the line of people never stopped. And oh! The chimichurri sauce was top notch!

I had never tried empanadas before and I think this restaurant in Liberty Market might be a new favorite! The place is clean and the servers were very fast. We tried the shrimp, Malbec beef, and five cheese empanadas, chimichurri, and alfajores. The Malbec beef empanadas were our favorites by far. The five cheese was good, and the shrimp was just ok. The Dulce de leche in the alfajores was also really delicious. They sell it in jars as well and it seems to be a popular purchase!

Wow! Awesome baked empanadas. Service was friendly and welcoming with a smile from the wonderful women working diligently as the line grew. Each empanada comes with a sauce of your choice chimichurri, chipotle chimichurri or creamy green olive. These perfect parcels hold up well if you plan to do some traveling. They also have some traditional alfajores or Dubai chocolate alfajores, beverages and tap to pay available. Once you enter from the main entrance by the patio just head straight back and it'll be on your left hand side.

Every time I visit San Diego, I always make sure to bring home empanadas from Parana! My absolute most favorite. My favorite flavors are mushroom, spinach, three cheese, and margarita. The chicken one is my favorite when I want meat. Creamy olive and chimichurri. I even brought home a jar of chimichurri because it's my favorite. Would highly recommend. Located inside Liberty Station! It can get very busy in the weekends. Plenty of parking outside. Love all the other food and shops as well!

I came on a Thursday evening. I had a hard time finding this place. I didn't realize that it was a small kiosk in the middle of the walkway near the kids playground at WTC. There's very limited seating inside. The lady at the counter was courteous. I got the happy hour special, buy 6 get 1 free. The Malbec Beef was surprisingly good even though it was sweet due to the raisins. It was so different than any other. The crust was crispy. 5/5 Spicy beef was not too spicy. It was OK. Could've used more Beef inside though. 4/5 The chicken Chipotle was OK. Nothing special 3/5 Margherita was like a pizza in an empanada. It was OK but it didn't work for me. 3/5 I loved that they had different flavors, it was almost hard to decide. They didn't have everything so next time I would like to try the other flavors.

Love that they made it easy to identify what is what. Choice: Spicy Beef

Super impressed with their empanadas from the size, options, and the details. My friend and I went yesterday and lordt knows how many we purchased because we love food! I will definitely be back to try out the others.

AMBIANCE Parking: Liberty Station parking--pretty manageable but can get busy during peak hours. Seating: Shared seating throughout the public market, so it might take a minute to find a table. Vibes: Welcome to Liberty Station! A festive area pretty much throughout the week. Whether its a place to eat, partaking in a event, or just hanging out - this is your spot. The area itself is a lively food hall energy with. It's not a sit-down restaurant vibe, but more of a grab-your-food-and-find-a-seat kind of experience. A lot of options around, but this spot holds its own with bold Peruvian flavors. FOOD / DRINKS Pesto (Tallarinines Verde) Chicken (Recommend) Solid dish. Rich portion - huge piece of chicken and good amount of pasta mixed well with that herb-forward pesto sauce (Tallarinines Verde) - with a more creamy + umami-forward than your usual pesto It's a bit of a fusion take compared to traditional Peruvian dishes, but still flavorful and satisfying. Good portion and definitely filling. Chicha Morada (Recommend) Refreshing and smooth. Slightly sweet with those subtle spice notes (like cinnamon/clove vibes), which makes it a perfect balance to the savory food. A classic Peruvian drink and a must-try if it's your first time. SERVICE Quick and efficient--typical of a market-style setup. You order, grab your food, and go. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, delicious food, and steady vibes. Good spot for casual Peruvian food while exploring Liberty Station. It leans more quick-service + accessible rather than a full sit-down experience, but the flavors still come through. The chicha morada is a must, and the pesto chicken is a solid pick if you want something filling. Best wishes to Chefs - Fredy, Tony, and the rest of the Latin Chef team! TIPS * Great option if you want to try Peruvian flavors without committing to a full restaurant

THE FOOD * Pulpo a la Gallega: Sautéed in olive oil and paprika. Tender, thin slices. The fresh lemon adds a bright acidity that balances the dish. * Gambas al Ajillo: Garlic shrimp treated very well. Tender, juicy, and highly flavorful. * Patatas a la brava: Hot potatoes coated in a creamy ali-oli. * Choricito frito: Delicious sautéed chorizo sausage. * Pinchitos de solomillo: Grilled filet mignon skewers. While the cook made them quite tender, the beef flavor was a bit off. I would recommend sticking to their phenomenal seafood instead. * Paella mixta: A classic presentation of saffron rice, chorizo, chicken, shrimp, and mussels. * Spanish creme brulee: A perfect finish. Wonderfully creamy underneath with a crisp sugar top. THE SERVICE Michael was our server and provided great service. He was attentive, knew the menu details inside and out, and provided excellent recommendations to guide our meal. OVERALL A solid tapas dining experience with great service and standout seafood.

So many small shops, from olive oil to chocolate. It was very busy when we visited as the Cinco de mayo festival was happening. We still only waited about 8 minutes for a table. Our waiter came soon and we quickly put our order in. The food came out just as quick! I had the surf and turf. The meat was good, nice and charred. The shrimp were wrapped in bacon and although good I decided to share them. The pico de gallo came with some nopales (cactus) which reminded me how good nopales are! The frijoles puercos were definitely tasty but not needed with this very flavor forward meal. Unfortunately the corn tortillas were a bit of a disappointment, mainly bc they were on the thicker/bigger side and got cold pretty quick. The pork with salsa verde dish was really good. The pork perfectly cooked. Note: definitely order the freshly made flour tortillas when dining here. The have a lot of fun margaritas to choose from. I feel like you can't go wrong. It was a long wait before the waiter even checked back on us and which is when I asked for a refill on my water and chips. We had order drinks as well. The smoked old fashion was good and the ahi tuna appetizer portion was plentiful. There were some parts of the diced ahi that was a bit chewy. The gaucamole portion was large and it wasn't until I asked another waiter did my refill of water and chips arrive. For entree, we got the scallops with corn cake, a salad and I had the poblano burger. I asked for the burger to be cooked to medium. When the entrees arrived my burger was overcooked with no pink in sight. The flavor of the burger was good but the burger was definitely dry as can be. The corn cake with scallop was interesting it was almost like the corn cake was a croquet that encased a corn salsa. Overall the food was okay but the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter and the end seemed to put up a fake act when the check came. Since we asked for the check it seemed like the waiter was on hyper speed.
