This is a shop with a wide variety of styles, and it's clear that the shop owner puts a lot of time into styling and crafting the pieces! I got a gorgeous lace front and couldn't be more delighted! It's so light weight and realistic, the hair hardly ever tangles it just remains beautiful! I cannot wait to go back and treat myself with another beautiful wig, thank you! (: read more

Well, that was disappointing...... I'm about to start chemo, so I stopped by Paramount with a friend to learn more about wigs and get some assistance picking one or two out. They have a great selection, but it's an overwhelming barrage of all kinds and colors of wigs. I couldn't figure out the organization so I sought out someone to help. The woman who helped us didn't really give us any direction, and just grabbed a wig for me to try on. She helped me put on a wig cap and placed the wig on my head. I didn't like the style so I picked out a couple others to try. While I was trying the wigs on, she didn't offer any information about the different wigs so I could try to figure out what hair type, texture, wig cap, etc I prefer. After we had tried on 4 or 5 wigs, my friend brought over a red one for me because she knew I wanted to get a "fun" wig in addition to the everyday one. At this point, the woman helping us snapped "You can only try on 4, and you've already tried more than that!" Both of us were shocked since I had told her that I was getting a wig because of chemotherapy and she knew we weren't just trying on wigs for fun. It's traumatic enough facing hair loss due to cancer at age 25, but to get this kind of treatment was extremely upsetting. I know some other reviewers have gotten great, compassionate help from Paramount Wigs but unfortunately this saleswoman (owner?) was not at all helpful. I left quickly and will not be back. read more

What a delightful little store this is! I never knew that Paramount Wigs existed until a few days ago. This store was established in 1970, and is probably one of the few original stores in Downtown Tampa. A friend and I were looking for wigs for upcoming events being held in the next couple of months. The store is a quaint one located on Franklin and Cass Streets. We stopped in early afternoon, and it was fairly slow. The wigs for sale were beautiful. These wigs are top of the line wigs, not your $15 ordinary ones you find in a costume store that shed every minute. Drew and Connie were very friendly and attentive. Connie was so sweet as she helped my friend try on her wigs. She made putting on a wig cap and wig look so effortless. Wig fittings are priced at $5 for on four wigs. This is understandable due to health regulations. A wig cap is also included in the $5 fee. Another friend of mine loves to bring his seven year old daughter here to try on wigs and she loves it. This is perfect for dads (or moms) who want do something fun on random day. These wigs are, by no means, inexpensive. These are high quality wigs that will last you the length of its use. If you are into cosplay or love to dress up for other costumed events, this is the place for you! read more

Fantastic store with a big selection. Some of the hair looks fake but if you spend some time looking you can fine some very real looking hair. We went here looking for a wig I be used during chemo and found a perfect match to the current hair color and style. The owner was so helpful and positive. Highly recommend this place for an affordable wig! read more

Mom and I just bought 3 wigs. I love the customer service and ability to sit and try various wigs. I used to bring my grandmother to the wig shop as well. We have always been treated in a professional courteous manner. read more

These wigs are fantastic! I own three. Well two now that one went with a dear friend to Brazil. Amazing quality and a great value for the price. Shipping is quick and even the huge Marie Antoinette came perfectly intact in its box. read more

Paramount Wigs - Paramount Wigs out of Tampa. Made my costume stand out! I've worn it 4 times and it still looks amazing. - Wigs Near Me - Tampa, Florida

The worst customer service and products! I spent $600 on tape in extentions and had them professionally installed and less than a week later they are falling out. I've never had this problem with any other brand before. Goes to show that it's best to order the hair rather than go for what is convenient. Overpriced & very cheaply made. The woman wouldn't give me a refund or even store credit and was INCREDIBLY rude. I've never felt so taken advantage of in my life!! Worst quality & even worst service. read more

I chopped my hair about 6 months ago and had instant regret. I decided to ride out the awkward growth chapter by wearing wigs. Paramount wigs was my first Online wig purchase aside from cheap synthetic wigs from China. I was very nervous to spend money on higher quality without trying it on. I was absolutely pleased with this ombre blonde wig. I receive soo many compliments and I am excited to buy again!!! read more

The staff was inappropriate in the way they addressed my friend. My friend went into the store looking for a wig and was told at the very beginning that she was looking in the section that was too expensive and that maybe she should look in the $20-$30 range. My friend went into the store today looking for a quality wig that she was willing to spend money on because she wanted a wig that would look natural and was made with real hair and they belittled her and made her feel like she was not welcome in their business. Not only that but when she asked to try on one of the wigs, she was told no and was asked to leave the shop. My friend had addressed the entire staff with kindness and respect but was mistreated the entire visit that she was there. This is not appropriate especially when someone is coming in to find something that they need in their day to day life. read more

Purchase three wigs from Paramount Wigs and I am very happy with all three purchases. Have to get the first two trimmed down a bit, but the beach wave wig fits perfectly. Staff very helpful. Thanks, guys. read more

Absolutely horrendous. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I've never met such rude pretentious people before. Very pathetic selection of wigs and who charges to try on a wig? I've never heard that before. I'm not paying to try on a wig and then hate it and be out money. Ohhhhhh I forgot they're kind enough to refund you the money IF you buy a wig. So you'll have to purchase an expensive wig to get back the $5 per fitting. But most people won't buy the wig and now you're out the money. I have no idea how they stayed in business. read more

If i could leave negative stars i would... the ABSOLUTE worst service I've ever had... seemed like because i was wearing legging and a shirt i couldn't afford a wig. The lady said "i don't think you understand how much wigs cost" when I've worn wigs and weave (top quality hair) for years.. they should understand US PAYING for wigs pays their bills. The selection of wigs is very outdated... read more

I came here with my mom who needed a wig due to chemo treatments. This place has a great selection with even better prices. My mom bought two wigs, one for $110ish and one that was one sale for $50ish. This is compared to a place we went to in the Countryside area (Clearwater) where the wigs started at around $400. The girls that took care of us were wonderful, very friendly and patient. They help my mom try on about 10 wigs and didn't try to rush us at all. There were also fashion contacts and a nice selection of false eyelashes plus jewelry, hair accessories and funky wigs that would be great with costumes and some cosmetics. It's in a decent location on the corner of Cass and Franklin in downtown Tampa and is really easy to get to. Highly recommended!! read more

I have alopecia and have been wearing wigs for over 30 years! I love this shop and I've been to a lot of them in my day. The owners are very sweet. For those who complain about paying to try on wigs and get it credited only if you buy it's because so many people just wanna come in and try them on to see how a color or style will look on them with no intention of buying. That does put wear and tear on the wigs. They also order and restock often with many newer styles and colors, even hombre styles. If you don't see something you like all you have to do is tell the owner what you're looking for or bring a picture. She may have it in the back. I will be going here for as long as they're open or I'm gone, whichever happens first! read more

I just bought my first wig. It is awesome! In twenty minutes, I had the wig picked out, and they cut it to look just perfect. Awesome customer service from start to finish. I'm not sure if it's weird to say this, but I'll be back! read more

Beware, they charge $5 PER WIG, just to try them on. I walked out and called 2 other wig stores in Tampa and they said they had never heard of anything like that. read more

Chemo took my hair two weeks ago. I had no experience with wigs other than an adequate one donated to me by the invaluable American Cancer Society. I visited Paramount today and the lady taught me what to look for in a wig, how to care for a wig, and finally which ones were right for me. I liked many of them, and ended up buying two. One looks exactly like my former hair, and one is a shorter, perky style. I didn't know what to expect from Paramount, but it's a serious wig store with hundreds of wigs of all colors, sizes, and prices. The saleslady was infinitely patient and kind, and let me work a little with each wig to figure out if I could make it work. I will look forward to going again, and I would highly recommend that anyone in need of hair substitute go to Paramount. They're on Franklin just north of downtown Tampa. Parking was not a problem. read more

Last December, my girlfriend and I visited her family in Tampa. With nothing better to do I tagged along one day when she went to get her hair done by her old hairstylist. Somehow she got talked into getting hair extensions and soon enough I was reluctantly driving them to pick up her hair extensions at this place called Paramount Wigs. Pulled up to the place, and was recognizable by the pink awning bearing it's name. So we all walked in and wow...I've seen wig stores in LA before, but dang...this one took the cake. Hair hair everywhere, and it was apparent the people running the place took great care in maintaining and organizing the place. So anyway, the hairstylist talks to the lady behind the counter and soon enough they were browsing through many blond locks of human hair called "Remy" I believe. After some sifting through small piles of hair and a buncha small talk, the girls finally make their choices...and my wallet is none to happy. Yikes...so much for freakin hair! I drove them back to the salon while still dazed somewhat by the cost. Tried to ease the pain by playing a few iPhone games while I waited. After an hour or so my girlfriends hair was done, and WOW...she was a cutie with that short style she had, but the long flowing hair she had now was well... pretty freakin HOT! And it even felt real(...duh human hair.) So in closing, although I felt some temporary financial pain, in retrospect, I think it may have been worth it to have some enhanced eye candy beside me ;-) So Paramount, you're good in my book...and thank you for warning me about the asshole parking meter guy. read more

I have only visited this store once, and I left about 5 minutes later. I wasnt greeted when I walked in, did a loop, and saw a wig I needed for my halloween costume. I wanted to try it on and the woman told me it was 5 dollars per wig to try on. So I left. I went to a wig shop on Central Ave in St Petersburg and was greeted with a MASSIVE smile! I stayed for awhile playing with different wigs, colors, and types. The woman was MORE than happy to help me...no complaints, no extra charges. Because of this remarkable customer service, I am going back to purchase BOTH wigs I need for both my halloween costumes! Go to the wig shop in St. Pete, not Paramount in Tampa. read more

Do NOT recommend!. I went with my sister Saturday, who is going through chemo, to look for a wig. When we walked in Paramount Wigs a lady greeted us and went to the back and never came back out. There was a man at the register and my sister saw a wig she liked and asked the man if she tries the one off the shelf. He states, "are you going to buy a wig?" My sister said she didn't know unless she tried it. He said it was $5.00 for EACH wig you try on. Needless to say we left. How awful to treat people like that when they are going through so much already. read more

Am at a loss for words at how poor the customer service is. I Work for a salon and needed last minute tape in extensions for a client that my boss was taking. Picked them up for her and brought them back to the salon. I then realized I made an oops in purchasing wavy ones when they should have been straight. Called Paramount wigs immediately and brought them back within the hour. (With the receipt and completely repackaged.) Apparently they will not accept returns if you as so much as "breathe" on the hair after purchasing. WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS LOCATION EVER! If you're not going to refund me, at least let me exchange them. I've worked in many outlets of hospitality and I know a good business will do what they can to make the customer happy. This place doesn't do jack! Buyers beware. read more
