    Phantom of the Opera

Wow what a show! My favorite broadway show of all time. Venue was great. Friendly servers and lots of help to get to what we needed. They seemed pretty dialed. We sat up in the mezzanine and were very happy with the seats. Comfy enough for a long play and didn't have issues with crowding. Bars for drinks and snacks at each level. We are already planning another show!

genuinely beautiful outside that it makes u want to go inside because the bright twinkling lights on the "Paramount" sign at night. Very spacious and multiple platforms so that all viewers are able to see the stage even if they are not up close. Security check-in went by very efficiently and staff is able to help, but I wish that there was staff at each staircase inside so that they are able to help with foot traffic and provide directions on where to go. Very clean in the seating area. Came here to watch Phantom of the Opera, so to see the chandelier work had my jaw dropping. Jaw dropping like that chandelier. Also, whoever is in charge of lighting was working especially hard this night. Speakers were loud and working in a way that you can hear it at every corner of the room. Hard to find parking, though :( got to go to the pike place market parking garages, fr

Went to see Les Miz (amazing show!) and it was a lovely theatre. Great view and comfy seats.

The paramount is a lovely theatre. I have attended many shows here. The staff are always really nice and helpful. I am giving four stars because of the crowding of the restrooms. I feel they should have more staff to help facilitate the flow of the restrooms, especially the women's. Overall, they have great seating and great shoes. The concession choices are limited, but still good. The staff is always accommodating. I also love how they have some showings that are friendly for neurodivergent individuals. I love the historic charm of the building as well. I highly recommend it for a great show or even just a general tour.

So, I'm not sure as to how or why my previous post was removed, but I would like to reiterate, the theater as in the building itself, beautiful and ornate. The staff were great and getting in and out was easy. Originally I had given 3 stars but have since changed it to 2 after my review was taken down. The girl pop group we saw. STAYC was great and had good energy. However, the sound mixing was either done so poorly or too loud for the type of music. You could not even hear any of the girls live vocals and could barely hear the backing tracks outside of the booming bass. Bad acoustics. I feel bad for them as this was the first stop of their US tour after having not been in the states for two years. The other item of note was that the drink prices are astronomical. As stated in my previous review, a double call of Jamison was $36.00. Add on a can of IPA plus tip boom, that's $56. Highway robbery imo. My advice is pre-gaming is highly advisable. Will not be attending anymore events here. Would rather road trip to another stop to see someone playing here.

This is a classic Seattle theater venue, which brings good shows to Seattle. There is not much legroom however they have the seats well angled so that you can still see from behind folks. It still has some of its original architectural details, which is beautiful to see and takes you back in time.

The Paramount Theater is timeless, from it's large sparkling marquee sign, to its stunning interior. This theater seats around 2,800 people and has hosted well-known musicals such as Hamilton and The Lion King. We've attended many musicals in this theater such as & Juliet, Book of Mormon, Wicked, Moulin Rouge, Phantom of the Opera, etc. We've always admired the french inspired interior and the quality acoustics. This theater has 3 levels of seating and no elevators. The theme death by stairs comes to mind. We've always selected the first mezzanine area for a better view of the stage. There are a couple of bar stations for general admissions. One is located on the main floor and the other is on the second floor. Sometimes they add an option to purchase VIP tickets which will have access to a dedicated VIP area that also has bar. The most important thing to remember when purchasing drinks is that you can take it inside the theater to consume. This is made possible with the use of their drink sip cups. These cups can also be taken home and reused for another event. Drink selections are fairly standard with some cocktails, wines, beers, soda, and water. They also offer snacks and candies. I recommend pre-ordering drinks to save time during intermission. Now for the most important question. Where are the restrooms? Buckle up for this mind boggling design detail. The main restrooms are located in the basement. There are a couple of ADA restrooms on the main floor under the staircase. The wait line to use the base restroom does get long, however it does move fast. Attendants are readily available to ensure the facilities are clean. Aside from these design quirks, this theater is a very well-maintained historical landmark.

Came here for The Lion King broadway musical on a Saturday night. The show started at 7:30 and it was pretty busy. They do a pretty good job with security and making sure people find their seats. The theatre itself is beautiful inside and out. No question about it. The staff were able to answer all major concerns I had as well. The 3 stars are for the ADA issues I had. This is not an accessible theatre. Be prepared. The ADA seating is in an area where it's shoved to the side. The bathrooms are also very limited for all wheelchair bound people.

I watched The Lion King here and it was good. The theater holds almost 3000 seats. There's some beautiful architecture on the ceiling. The theater is big and even when you're sitting at the highest part of the theater, you still have a decent view. Not sure if I missed any, but I wished there were water fountains scattered throughout the theater. There's a lot of production that is hosted here which is pretty cool. There's employees here seem nice. The sound production was good as well towards the top of the seating.

I've been here before when seeing Beabadoobee, but it was such a surreal spot to see Twilight in concert. The interior design is so gorgeous, I love how it's homey as well as somewhat like a museum. There was also a scene in Twilight at the Paramount so that was perfect! The snacks were expensive as expected but popcorn was so necessary for such a life changing show!!!

Seattle's Paramount Theatre has enjoyed a long and storied history, beginning with its grand opening as the Seattle Theatre in March of 1928. The Paramount Theatre has been around for almost a century, and it shows as of this review. It's also what I love about it. The winding stairways, the chandeliers, the sort of Opera architecture and decor and more really give the theatre a classic and opulent look regardless of what sort of performance is taking place here. The theatre really reminds me of a similar theatre I frequented back east that had similar upper deck seating, but for those who want to be front row for the performance there is standing room at the foot of the stage. For the particular show I went to, those folks and even a few on the upper levels were treated to interaction with Josh Lane, of The Sacred Souls - whom we went to see. It was great time here, and in addition to any show you catch here, the structure and architecture is awesome, be sure to take it in as you move about the venue.

I've seen so many shows here I've lost count. I've seen Life of Pi and Kimberly Akimbo both this year. Saw Aquas first show in the US and just last night I went to my favorite murder live! It was my first podcast recording. Doesn't matter where you are sitting this is an incredible venue short to be a good night.

Ask the Community - Paramount Theatre

Going to a metal concert here soon, my tickets have seat numbers assigned, and these are on the main floor. Do people sit/stand at their assigned seat numbers for metal concerts here? Or does the theatre remove the seats?

I haven't been to a metal concert, but I've been to others where you just sit/stand at your seat. This is a historic theater. I have never seen them remove the seats.

If you have a medical/religious exemption from the vaccine are you still able to attend a show at the venue?

You need a negative test result.

For concerts are the main floor seats removed for the pit, or do u stand there with all the seats in the way?

    Seats are removed.

Does the theater have air conditioning?

The Paramount does have air conditioning.

Going to a concert here in a few weeks, wondering if there is any room to stand or dance or if I should be expecting to sit for the show? Thanks!

You will be sitting the entire time. Seating is a bit tight too.

If you sit below the balcony overhang, like in row JJ, will you still be able to see the higher parts of the stage (like where the lights are)? Or will the balcony block the view of the higher part of the stage?

The balcony won't block your view of the stage but depending on your luck, a tall audience member who may sit in front of you might block your view. The theater seats are on a downward slope so the view of the stage will be clear but I find it that… Read more

I never really do coat check because I'm paranoid about not having my things on me, but the one here is easy and reliable. The only real issue was the photo booth which only worked for the first half hour or so. I'm assuming it ran out of film or something because at some point, it just kept taking people's money without taking any photos, which was brought up to the staff. This isn't necessarily on Showbox since the photo booth is provided by a vendor, but I would've appreciated an "out of order" sign. Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.
