My initial meeting with the manager, Rickey was NOT. GOOD. I was disappointed, I had already paid the non-refundable deposit and sent the address out on the invitation. The venue itself holds lots of history and really is a staple in the pictures of historic downtown. It looks the exact same as it did 14 years ago when I did photography for a Quince. I am being literal, the carpet was the exact same. I guess it kept it feeling like historic CG. During our walk-through (3 1/2 months in advance) Rickey was incredibly condescending and not an ounce personable. I was actually quite taken aback by some of his comments. The venue was set up for an event the following night and it was nice, standard decor (it was for a murder mystery dinner party), but not what I had in mind for our party. I complimented it and he told us about the decorating package to which I kindly declined. He proceeded to tell me how much work it was and this is closely paraphrased, not a direct quote: "Something people don't understand is that it is a lot of work to throw an event and the day of ends up being a nightmare because of all the work that goes into it. There was a lady who wanted to have a really elegant Chanel party. Had bought all these beautiful decorations but ran out of time setting them up. Lots of decorations were unused. The DJ she got needed to use our equipment, which cost her. Her caterer didn't bring plates, utensils, or anything. I told her she didn't pay for any of that and it would cost her." When I again, declined he proceeded to impose "Well I want you to really think about the cost of the decorations you are buying and the time it takes for them vs the cost of our decor packages." This is when I got really annoyed and just wanted to laugh. I kept quiet because I was going to give him a chance to redeem himself. YES. Why? Because I was only FIVE minutes in. He didn't ask anything other than my name while confirming the venue date and the event type, not personal questions or about my comfort with throwing an event. The event was a party for my daughter and niece. I had already booked and paid for our DJ, Bartender, and Caterer and confirmed every single detail for the day of the event. The last person to confirm things with was the Paramount. My rookie mistake was sending out the invitation without confirming the theater was a good fit - I assumed it was from my previous experience there. We proceeded with the tour, showing the stage and side door up close. Rickey asked, "Why would you have guests go outside to get their food from the food truck, instead of having them inside serving." I looked at him crazy, my family members confirmed. He then asked, "It's for a birthday party, wouldn't you want the elegance of inside." I looked him directly in the eye and responded, "I am paying for the ac, not the ElEgAnCe of the theater," and turned around. It was a made-to-order taco food truck with all the sides, and we were almost at capacity, there was no room for them inside. He then began to usher us back inside. When inside, I began to state that we would be collecting books for CASA of Pinal County in lieu of presents and could likely get a press release out of it highlighting both the program and the theater. He cut me off. "Oh, I don't need any press. We have a great website and it gets lots of engagement. I am booked out. I have our calendar full of events. I don't even need to advertise or pay for anything like that." Here is the funniest thing, he was referencing their Facebook, not their actual website. I was annoyed and asked him to show me the contract. I paid in full. And didn't talk to him until I needed to add additional tables. On the day of the party, he was semi-friendly. He does have a naturally stern look which is hard to read, but nonetheless, friendly. We set up, enjoyed our party, and apparently, did way more cleanup than we were supposed to. My family can clean. He was actually really nice and thankful at the end of the night. A few weeks later, I got the deposit back. A pleasant surprise since I guess I misread the contract. a fantastic party, with clean restrooms, ac that kept up but also the wildest first interaction. A lot to be desired with customer service and the venue but you get what you pay for, they are one of the more economical options. Another note, but not a completely fair one, I had paid for the marquee. A few days before the party it was put up (cool, I thought it was just for the booked date) but it had a typo. It wasn't fixed until a few hours before the party. It said "Felix" instead of "Feliz." I think I would have rather not had the message up early because of the typo. I'm not sure if that is a true ick but it did impact how many stars I gave. *I cannot stress enough that the quoted text above is closely paraphrased and is NOT a direct quote. From the time my nephew's mom began planning for his graduation party to the days following his party in early June, there were substantial concerns regarding an evident lack of hospitality, customer service, and unprofessionalism from the current manager of the Paramount Theatre, Rickey Robinson. Due to continued struggles with the Paramount manager -- such as his inability to provide sufficient information and accommodations for the decor my family requested and paid for -- the preparation and clean-up process for my oldest nephew's graduation party was far more stressful and complicated than we paid for the experience to be. Furthermore, my nephew's mom stated that Rickey gave her a hard time from the start of the party preparation process, months before the party when our non-refundable fees were paid, simply because my family chose to pay for their own food vendor and DJ. In my nephew's mom and my mother's meeting with Rickey Robinson and his significant other, the day before the party was scheduled, she made the statement, "you know what I can do, I can just take it all down and give you your money back" in response to Rickey's miscommunication with his significant other about the decor colors requested for the party. During this same meeting with both my mom and my nephew's mom Rickey's significant other stated "you guys are really pissing me off" after my mom and nephew's mom were trying to explain the color scheme for decorations that were requested for my nephew's graduation party. Additionally, the day of my nephew's graduation party there were continued concerns with Rickey's lack of professionalism and his inability to provide agreed-upon decorations for the color scheme he agreed upon via text weeks prior. For example, each of the tables and chairs had a white underlay with centerpieces and ties around the chair; however, tablecloths and actual chair covers were not provided as they were paid for. Moreover, my nephew's mom reported that while setting up during the day of the party, when she asked Rickey to provide guidance and information regarding where the DJ should set up on stage, he stated "I'm not going to help with that because you didn't get the DJ from me". An additional incident in which Rickey demonstrated his aggressiveness,lack of customer service skills, and lack of integrity occurred during the day of the party. After telling Rickey that we needed to purchase the projector to use at the venue, because our personal projector wasn't working with the building tech setup, he replied "no, it's too late. I'm not going to do all the wiring". We soon discovered that the tech setup was simply a USB hook-up which we figured out mostly on our own. After the projector setup was completed, my family and I were finally able to display the photo/video slideshow of my nephew including my oldest brother (his father) who passed away in November 2022. Lastly, the day after the party took place, Paramount manager, Rickey, also spoke to my mom over the phone stating that he did not post photos of my nephew's graduation party because of how it turned out -- further stating "you guys are lucky I didn't embarrass you" -- though he and his significant other were the ones who did not provide the correct decorations as agreed upon over text weeks before the party. All-in-all our experience with the Paramount Theatre, as my nephew's graduation party venue, was unsatisfactory and disheartening at best. read more

I rented this place at the last minute, I was a little skeptical considering I was from another city. Ricky, the owner had everything run smoothly. The place was set up, ready for us to add the last touch. The bathrooms were clean !! our ceremony couldn't have been better. We brought our own food set up, there were huge bins for our beverages. While looking for tickets to see Jimmy Eat World I stumbled across a venue located in a town I've never heard of. So I decided to Google search Paramount Theatre in Casa Grande (pronounced "grand" apparently) to see what I was getting myself into. After exploring the website I was able to see that the Paramount Theatre is a non-profit theater that host a variety of "acts" and shows from country western to big band. Located in a what seems to be a throw back to the 60's downtown area, the lights of the theater illuminate the dark dessert Arizona skies beautifully. This historic theater seemed small and quaint enough for me to purchase two tickets to see my favorite band. Even though the drive was 6+ hours for me from California, the experience at Paramount Theatre was well worth every mile. The Paramount is tiny! I've seen bigger auditoriums in middle schools! That being said the restoration/maintenance is very well done. Once you enter the front doors there is a small area to gather before entering the main theater doors. Bathrooms located on both sides of the waiting area were small but clean and well maintained. As you enter the main theater you will see that the decor is Egyptian themed. I'm not sure why but after taking it all in I'd say it actually worked. The stage itself is tiny and probably not elevated more than 4-5 feet about the crowd. There is also no permanent seating in the theater (online you can see tables and chair set up for certain shows) so we were able to the front of the stage for the concert which made the experience that much better! I've been to some really small venues before (Ventura Majestic Theater) but this one easily takes the cake. With that being said the employees at the theater were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The fans (which I assume many were locals) were very cool and relaxed which only enhanced my experience at the concert. I am so grateful I was able to not only watch my favorite band again (5th time) but I was able to see them at this awesome theater. We went to the murder mystery play on 1/31/21 for the afternoon show. It's a small venue and they did a great job! We had 10 people in our group & we were all seated together. The other tables were at least 6' apart. There was sanitizer at the entrance and our table. Our temperature was taken as we entered the venue. The play was really good and the writer was there too & introduced! It was a dinner show & the food was really tasty, but warm not hot. I has the Cajun lasagna. Our friend that got the tickets was treated really well and she was able to go to the venue to let the rest of us know it was safe to be there given the pandemic. They have some really interesting shows coming up & it's well worth the money and considering it is in Casa Grande AZ! I would highly recommend it read more
