We toured eight different facilities in Boise and the Garden Plaza of Valley View was by far their favorite. We actually didn't have an appointment and just stopped in to see if we might be able to talk to someone - Pam welcomed us with open arms and gave us a very thorough tour. They joined the waiting list, and moved in a few months later when a space opened up. At this point it has only been a few weeks since their move, but they are extremely happy and we've noticed a difference in their health already, especially with Mom. Her speech and walking have both improved, and we credit the Garden Plaza with that. She has 3 regular meals a day, social interaction, walks more, and she doesn't have the pressures that came with owning and caring for a full-sized home. My folks tell us every day how nice everyone is, from the staff to the residents. They wish they had made the move years ago and say everyone they talk to says the same thing. (Better late than never!) I liken it to living on a land-based cruise ship - all their meals and utilities are included, their unit is cleaned weekly (including towels and linens), there are tons of activities, there's transportation to get them around town, and everything is bundled under one price so they don't have to keep track of a ton of bills (or even this one - they're set up on auto-pay)! It's so nice that my teenage daughter wanted to move there after getting a tour. To say it's been life-changing is an understatement. My parents are thrilled, my siblings and I are thrilled, and a huge load has been lifted from all of us. Since I don't live in Boise, it's an enormous comfort to know they're happy and that people are checking in on them daily. I also took care of my sweet Aunt until her Dementia became debilitating. Both my father and my aunt went to two separate places in California for their Care. I was so unimpressed and had to actually move my Aunt to another place. Neither of the facilities had an RN on staff or PT. Garden Plaza of Valley View has BOTH! Every time I visit, they are doing something Special for their residents. They even built a Bakery so that the residents can visit and have a sweet treat. If you are considering special care for a loved one, take a tour with Melanie. She is personable and understands how important this transition is for everyone in the family. The Company is locally owned, I believe this makes a difference.

However, the last year was awful. The owner did not support his administration at the time, valued employees left, and morale was low and employees underpaid. No group activities for the residents and employees overwhelmed and overworked. Violations of state codes have been occurring and two have recently been substantiated. A five year loyal employee (longest standing employee) was recently fired. This after she stayed with the facility through bouts of cancer, two years of CoVid, 16 hour days and 6 day work weeks because she finally had to give her two weeks notice to take care of her own health. After my mother's death, I never received a verbal or written condolence from the current administrator or owner. Do not put your family member in this facility.

He had many health issues in addition to dementia, but they took care of each of those needs as if they were taking care of their own parent. I just moved in to Swan Falls assisted-living. Due to some severe health issues I needed to be in…read morethe assisted-living. I had looked at several assisted-living areas that excepted Medicare. All of the other assisted-living facilities, you have to share a room and a bathroom if you had Medicare rather than private pay. I was not a fan of sharing a bedroom and a bathroom. And it was only a half bath. And the rooms were very small. Thankfully, I found swan Falls assisted-living in Kuna Idaho. I have been here a little over a week. Every resident has their own private room in bathroom. In regular assisted-living. All of the staff and the caregivers are excellent. Very helpful very friendly and always happy. The food is beyond excellent. I have yet to be disappointed in a meal. To me, it is like going out to eat at every meal. The chefs are very very good at cooking. I met a few residents and everyone is so nice and excepting. I highly recommend Swan Falls assisted living.

I cannot recommend this place due to the significant safety and care concerns. Very poor management; rarely present; ignore complaints; constant staff shortages and turnovers. Despite numerous reminders about soiled bedding, mismanagement of medications, lack of housekeeping and laundry services, etc...nothing was ever done about it! Do not put your loved one here. The morale in this place is so low. Everyone walks around with such unhappy faces.

She was ran into a wall by a nurse (complete accident) and her leg hit the wall and long story short, they broke her leg in a different location. They did not inform anyone of what happened and still have not. We wouldn't have known if my grandma hadn't said anything. No one is taking accountability and trying to place blame everywhere else. Very disappointing. The facility and staff seem very kind and considerate however every time I have gone in. The facility is clean. I really wish this accident didn't happen otherwise I'd have a much different review.
