The showers were located down other halls, which caused me anxiety because you had to walk out and go through a common area with a TV that was continually taken over by some nut job who would not share channels and wanted to fight you if you were not of his political opinion. Animals were allowed. A community dining room and everyone there claimed their seat perminately. If your new learn fast where to sit. Breakfast served at a specific time, and lunch and dinner was mostly mush. Geared for those pretty much toothless. I really wanted to sink my teeth into a chicken leg however the cook was lazy and didn't want to cook.He even got angry over some silly stuff and didn't show up for three days causing other staff from the office to throw something togther for us to eat. Week-ends, your on you own unless you could stomach meals on wheels. The good thing was Albertsons across the street. Some of the people there came from prison. One had a very severe mental illness and would talk to some invisible person in the hallway after he would kick said invisible man out of his room. Unfortunately my room was next to some pervert who wanted his bed on the shared wall, so he could pretend that we were next to each other. My room faced the parking lot and cars would idle next to my window causing exhaust to bellow in while my windows was opened. There was a security guard on the premises at night. In my opinion I would not have hired him because he didn't do his job. He would sit inside an inner room all night and didn't patrol to catch all the drunks and druggies hiding near a storage building smoking pot. Good Samaritan, not so good. When I finally left I didn't pay rent that month. I used it as a down payment into an apartment I so desperately needed. I even found a couple of guys, who lived at GS panhandling across the street at Albertsons. It was quite an experience living there.

We toured eight different facilities in Boise and the Garden Plaza of Valley View was by far their favorite. We actually didn't have an appointment and just stopped in to see if we might be able to talk to someone - Pam welcomed us with open arms and gave us a very thorough tour. They joined the waiting list, and moved in a few months later when a space opened up. At this point it has only been a few weeks since their move, but they are extremely happy and we've noticed a difference in their health already, especially with Mom. Her speech and walking have both improved, and we credit the Garden Plaza with that. She has 3 regular meals a day, social interaction, walks more, and she doesn't have the pressures that came with owning and caring for a full-sized home. My folks tell us every day how nice everyone is, from the staff to the residents. They wish they had made the move years ago and say everyone they talk to says the same thing. (Better late than never!) I liken it to living on a land-based cruise ship - all their meals and utilities are included, their unit is cleaned weekly (including towels and linens), there are tons of activities, there's transportation to get them around town, and everything is bundled under one price so they don't have to keep track of a ton of bills (or even this one - they're set up on auto-pay)! It's so nice that my teenage daughter wanted to move there after getting a tour. To say it's been life-changing is an understatement. My parents are thrilled, my siblings and I are thrilled, and a huge load has been lifted from all of us. Since I don't live in Boise, it's an enormous comfort to know they're happy and that people are checking in on them daily. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Pam Dillman and all the wonderful staff and residents at the Garden Plaza of Valley View! (Oh, and there's an AMAZING bakery in the lobby - try the blueberry lemon cake.)

I also took care of my sweet Aunt until her Dementia became debilitating. Both my father and my aunt went to two separate places in California for their Care. I was so unimpressed and had to actually move my Aunt to another place. Neither of the facilities had an RN on staff or PT. Garden Plaza of Valley View has BOTH! Every time I visit, they are doing something Special for their residents. They even built a Bakery so that the residents can visit and have a sweet treat. If you are considering special care for a loved one, take a tour with Melanie. She is personable and understands how important this transition is for everyone in the family. My grandmother lived at Paramount Parks for nearly 4 years. She passed away two weeks ago at the…read moreage of 100. During the years she lived at this assisted living facility, she received loving and compassionate care from the staff. Her caregivers were all excellent as well as the the chef, maintenance man, hair stylist and director, Wendy. I consider those staff members who have stayed in board and worked tirelessly with the residents at Paramount to keep them happy and well during the challenging times of the Covid pandemic super heroes. I also so appreciated how kind the staff members were to me and other family members who would stop in to visit grandma. I really think Paramount Parks is one of the best assisted living facilities in Idaho. It's clean, beautifully decorated and in a wonderful location as well. My grandma had nurses from Signature Hospice care for her the last year of her life. Two of those nurses told me that they think Paramount Parks is one of the best facilities in the valley and that really meant a lot since they see patients who reside in many different facilities.

It was very important for the siblings to easily visit her, so location was a high priority. After a lot of research and high recommendations we chose Paramount Parks in Eagle. We could not be happier!! This is due, in large part, to Jennifer Hoffman who does a fantastic job helping to run Paramount. She has been exemplary in all her actions and has gone above and beyond all of our hopeful expectations. She helped to make the transition painless, simple and actually kind of fun for Mom. Jenn sets the precedents for the rest of her staff. They are attentive, kind, and on top of the needs of their "family" at Paramount. Mom says she loves the food & having choices (it's not my favorite place to eat but I'm a spoiled foodie, and since she's the one eating there, we are both happy! ) They have the usual activities that most of the nicer places have. But also stand out in other areas, like having a Memory Care Center on site. It is totally separate and very secure. So Nice to know, if ever needed, it would be an easy transition. Mom and the family have been very happy with Paramount Parks. We feel so much gratitude and appreciation towards Paramount Parks. Highly recommend it.

My mother lived at Overland Court Assisted Senior Living for almost 2 years. She had mild Dementia…read morebut still enjoyed the activities, food and was well cared for by the staff. As her Dementia increased, she was moved to the Huckleberry wing inside Overland Court. The staff was awesome and provided great care. Her condition deteriorated after she fell and broke her hip and she passed away in early June 2025. As a previous review stated the Business manager promised us a partial refund for the month of June. The lease agreement signed by my mother also states refunds will be refunded within 30 days. Four months later no refund, only excuses, incompetence or revenue issues. I would give the staff at Overland Court a 4 star rating and management a 2 star rating which equals out to a 3 star rating.
