Located just a minute walk from Wood Green tube station, Paramount is an award winning restaurant, which has been run by the same family since as long as I can remember. I have been going here for years with my parents, and have even taken the odd date there. My favourite Indian meal is the chicken Korma, so that is what I usually get, but every dish in there is brilliant. Another thing that really puts Paramount on a pedal stall for me, is that the waiters have been there for so many years too. So they don't just look after the customer, but they look after their staff. I have been here countless times and have recommended it countless times, and everybody says the same thing, its brilliant. Good local food. The restaurant decor is 'old school curry house', with table cloths and dark wood. I visited on a Friday night and the restaurant didn't have many diners (a handful), but busy with people waiting for take out orders. I opted for the take out service. Strangely, the garlic nan had a sweet taste - it was pleasant but just not what I had expected - I didn't detect any garlic at all! It could have been an error to my order but I wasn't complaining as it tasted good regardless. The mushroom curry was very flavoursome. The lamb rogon looked enticing and got the thumbs up (although I didn't try it). I'd definitely use their service again. Be careful as you enter - there's an immediate step down! read more

I've been to Indian restaurants all over US, Bangalore, Hyderabad and food at Paramount must be the most flavorful than most of other places I tried. It definitely suits my taste buds. My kids loved Butter Murg, paneer with spinach. Even the mutton curry wasn't too spicy for them. The owner went above and beyond to accommodate us and we came back for seconds the next day. If we're ever back to Wood Green, we're definitely eating here again. read more

Good food, Good Prices, (usually) Good Service. This place is a stone's throw from where I live and (used to work). So I've been countless times (some after too many after work drinks). The food is fantastic, I highly recommend. Popadoms are great and portions pretty massive. I usually stick to the Tikka Masala because the sauce is so lovely, but mates have ordered most things on the menu and given great reviews (i agree when i've dipped my fork in). Prices are really reasonable, wine menu limited, service can be slow when it's busy, but bear with them. Overall great place to pop to on a Friday night. read more

It's easy to find a mediocre Tandoori restaurant - there are half a dozen in every square mile, but the Paramount is a cut above the rest in this part of town. Despite the tacky decor and the unnecessary fishpond, the place consistenly delivers quality Indian cuisine. The food is prepared with care and packed with flavour. On our most recent visit we ordered the king prawn madras, murgh (Chicken) tandoori, chicken rogan and rice. The spicing is superb, the sauces are not overly greasy as can happen in lacklustre places and the helpings are generous. Nothing annoys me more than having to sift through your chicken curry to find the odd bit of meat as it's all sauce and padding - not a problem here. The chunks are tender, well spiced and delicious. Myself and my wife will continue to go back here and have learned to steer clear of the less impressive rival places in the area. read more

Booked a table for 15 for my sons 16th birthday the evening was a sham. Service was non excistant waited 2 hrs for a very bland meal. Given dirty plates. Staff standing chatting when ur trying to ask them for something. Womens toilets were disgusting urine all over the floor no toilet tissue and a toilet seat which falls on yr back. Wonderful food, great atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff. Although we moved to France some 14 years ago, we always return to the Paramount for a well-earned meal every time we visit the UK. My husband informs me that he's been a customer for over 40 years now and has grown to know the friendly and helpful family running the restaurant over the years. I'm quite a newcomer - only 25 years! This is making my mouth water so I'd better book a ferry and come over soon! Get the chicken tikka and tandoori on the grill, followed by chicken bhoona with extra sauce and dansak on the bubble... you know who we are! read more
