I scheduled an appointment with them and recieved a voicemail from their new patient coordinator 3 weeks prior confirming the date, time, and location. On the day of the appointment they said I was not on the schedule and refused to make an accommodation, despite this very clearly being an error on their part. The only solution offered was to come back another day, when I had already taken an unpaid day off of work and driven 40 minutes across town. My conversation with the office manager Owen was incredibly frustrating as he continued to gaslight me and say I didn't have an appointment, even though I had the email and voicemails from them confirming that I did. I pleaded with him to understand that I am living with chronic pain, had been waiting months for the appointment, and don't have a flexible work schedule to take more time off, but he was unwilling to budge. The new patient coordinator Lupita (who is very kind!) rescheduled me for a later date. When I got home, I posted a Google review about my experience with the office manager, to make the doctor aware of how poorly this situation was handled. Instead of taking this as an opportunity to make things right, Owen decided to retaliate and cancel my new appointment because I shared my negative experience online, once again gaslighting me and claiming what I wrote wasn't true. Patients who are seeking a neurologist are doing so because they are dealing with serious medical issues. Maliciously compromising a patient's access to care over an ego trip is ethically questionable, at best. I have truly never experienced anything like this, and I hope this review will spare other patients this type of disrespect and dismissal.

I did, my test showed L4 and L5 vertebra, the top one was rocking over the bottom one putting pressure on my bladder, causing the frequent urination!!! That was a Friday, Dr Pitt said you need emergency surgery on Monday at 4:00pm!!!! I didn't hav back pain, I was a strong 66 year old, no health issues, not over weight, worked out etc. If I had not had the surgery, and the vertebrate slipped, I would have been paralyzed.! The bladder nerves were being damaged- called the Cauda Equina syndrome! Prior to surgery Dr Pitt explained I may have permanent bladder damage and may have to wear a colostomy bag. After 6 hours of surgery, not only did he repair my spine with fusion, a titanium cage etc, he was able to save the nerves affecting my bladder!! Dr Pitt and his office during my rehab and months of wearing a brace were so kind and always explained everything in detail to me, including reviewing my x-rays in the Office! I am grateful to Dr Pitt and his group for having the knowledge and immediate reaction to my condition. My back is fine today, I'm blessed to have been referred to Dr Pitt and wouldn't hesitate to go to him again. Sounds like the lawsuit against him was by someone who needed money, read FFs review!! Thank you Dr Pitt, Eileen Carlson Note: my spelling and medical terminology may not be perfect!!

I spent months unsure of what to do about a shoulder injury before a friend recommended Spooner and…read moreI finally scheduled an appointment. After a lot of negative experiences with medical offices, Spooner was a huge breath of fresh air! Literally every person on the team from the front desk to the therapists themselves are friendly and helpful. I worked with PT Julia and tech Chris, and they were both phenomenal - true experts in what they do. I also met with PT Alix a few times, and she's equally amazing. I went in afraid I was going to spend a lot of time and money only to be told I needed surgery. Instead I walked out three months later with a shoulder that is almost entirely healed, and an easy-to-follow program to do at home. I still can't get over what a pleasant experience this was from start to finish. They have truly set the bar for all other providers I see in the future. A few things that set Spooner apart from other medical offices I've been to: 1. They offer a free consultation. If you're not sure physical therapy can help you, go in for a consultation! You'll get an honest answer. 2. They did not pressure me to schedule excessive or unnecessary appointments. I went in thinking I'd need to go 2-3 times a week and was pleasantly surprised that they recommended once a week, and then eventually every two weeks. 3. The billing is transparent and honest. My insurance wouldn't give them a price ahead of time, so Spooner had me pay an estimate based on what other clients with my insurance paid. When my claims were processed and their estimate was slightly higher than my contracted rate, they immediately applied all of the credit from my overpayments. I didn't even have to ask for it - I just walked into my appointment, greeted by the pleasant news that I didn't need to pay that day because I had credit on my account! 4. There were never any surprise charges or codes added on to my appointment. When Julia suggested we try dry needling (highly recommend btw), she made it clear there was no additional fee, and that was accurate information. 5. I feel very set up for success doing exercises at home. They have a really helpful app with my personalized program in it that includes videos of how to do the exercises, and they also gave me printed versions as well. (If you want physical therapy to be successful, you MUST do the exercises at home!) I could go on and on about how great Julia and the Spooner team are. I really can't recommend this practice highly enough.

The staff is friendly and upbeat and I felt comfortable from the moment I first walked in. The desk crew is very accommodating, even after I've had to cancel and rearrange appointment schedules more than once. My therapists have carefully evaluated my needs and provided realistic expectations regarding progress. I have exercises to do at home and the assistants monitoring my program are helpful and encouraging while trained to insist on "just two more". Julie has provided me with great suggestions, information and treatment suggestions. They are the best!

I didn't know what it was at the time or how to deal with the pain. My primary doctor recommended I see a spine specialist and begin physical therapy. I had heard about DISC on our local sports radio and from a friend that had been here before. Desert Institute for Spine Care is the leader in minimally invasive spinal surgeries. Everyone has been nice so far and informative about my situation and what to expect. My journey is still at the beginning for me. I am starting out with the least invasive options for myself like physical therapy and spinal injections to help manage my pain. So far I am seeing some moderate success with these options and able to enjoy life with minimal pain. Everyone's journey and experience is different. I am just thankful I have somewhere to go if things get worse for me.
