I came here on a Saturday afternoon with a friend, a little after peak lunch hours. The parking lot was full and the restaurant, bustling. From the outside, it doesn't look like much and upon walking inside, it transports you. I ordered 4 different tacos- chorizo, asada, lengua, and al pastor- and a tamarind agua fresca. My friend got the shrimp sopes. The food came out quick and super fresh! The plate came with two salsas and I got more at their salsa bar at the front. Honestly, wasn't crazy about any of them (I tried 6!), which was the biggest disappointment of tbe meal. The tacos were otherwise good and lots of flavor. I was so happy they included the roasted onions, too. There were other menu items that looked phenomenal but will definitely try whenever I came back!

It's a simple yet flavorful dish; the meat is well done, and the sauces are delicious. I would say if you are not used to handmade tortillas, opt for the traditional corn tortillas, as the handmade ones are thicker, yet they soak the sauces much better; if you feel adventurous, try one, plus taco carbs don't count lol During the winter, they have added hot chocolate packets to the condiment counter.

The special Apple Cider Reposado margarita was good but we didn't taste any of the cider, just straight up tequila but it was good. You can also order margaritas in passion fruit, mango, strawberry, and hibiscus flavors. They get extra points because of the passion fruit flavor. The complimentary chips were okay, but the salsa stood out, it had an authentic/in house made flavor. For the main meals, everyone at the table was satisfied. We had an order of the shrimp and chicken fajitas, beef floutas and the salmon a la parrilla, grilled salmon topped with homemade mango salsa served with mixed green salad, rice & beans. The mango salsa was tasty but I didn't like how runny it was. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the restaurant itself looked clean and well-kept, which made the whole experience more enjoyable. I would come back and try a few other items on the menu. The online menu is a bit different from what we had in person, I didn't see the mussels on the menu given to us in the restaurant. Happy Hour is from 3-7pm. This is a solid spot for a casual night out with friends for good margaritas, authentic touches, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The service was on point, quick, welcoming, and they actually guided me toward something great instead of just taking the order. Went with the Plato Brian and it was the right call. Everything on the plate was flavorful, well-cooked, and satisfying without feeling sloppy. The handmade tortillas really sealed it for me, there's something about that fresh, slightly imperfect texture that just hits different. Took me straight back to homemade meals. Had to try the pupusas too, cheese & pork is my go-to, and these delivered. Crispy outside, packed with flavor inside. Also, I've been searching for a good horchata around the DMV, and this one is definitely up there. Smooth, not chalky, and a little sweet (which I personally prefer). Big bonus: I grabbed food to-go for my wife, who's vegetarian, and they had legit options, not just an afterthought. She tried the spinach, loroco & cheese, and bean & cheese pupusas, plus the Salvadoran breakfast, and was impressed. This is the kind of place that does the basics really well, and that's what keeps people coming back.

The restaurant itself is spacious and clean, and they stay pretty busy with both dine-in and carryout orders, which is always a good sign. It is located in a sketchy part of Laurel, so just be mindful of that when you're heading over. But overall, if you're craving authentic Salvadorian food, this spot is definitely worth it.

We were a party of three on a Monday, and there was only one other party of three seated. The rest of the restaurant, a large open space with tables and chairs, as well as booths, was empty. There's a bar to the right side, kitchen in the far back. It's clearly set up for shows, performances, screenings, and/or dancing with a raised stage toward the entrance and a projector screen. The service was very good. The server was friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating, and attentive. There was a small language barrier but we overcame it by rephrasing, repeating, and gesturing. My companions ordered the quesabirria tacos, which they both devoured and raved about. The tacos did look visually stimulating, were served hot, and were a large portion for the price. I ordered the huevos rancheros without beef, and it was tasty but not astounding. The side of beans tasted like a shot of vodka was added in it and tasted terrible. I also ordered tamarindo but they were out of stock. They also didn't have tamal de elote, which was disappointing but not surprising since it's winter. I then opted for the lemonade, which was freshly made and does not come come with free refills. Soft drinks are can sodas, not from a fountain drink machine.

When I asked for plates, I was told they could only give me seven because that was the limit. How does that make sense for an order feeding ten people? After I explained this, the employee reluctantly gave me ten plates, but her attitude made me feel like I was asking for some huge favor. The plates were so thin that the liquid from the curtido--the cabbage served with the pupusas--soaked right through them. They weren't suitable for the food we were eating. They're also consistently stingy with the cabbage. There's plenty of tomato sauce, but getting enough cabbage to go with the order is another story. The service is otherwise okay, and I have no complaints about the flavor or prices. But customers placing a large order shouldn't have to argue for enough plates for everyone eating. If decent plates and adequate sides require a small price increase, I'd rather pay that than deal with this hassle. Great food, but this experience left a bad impression. Basic supplies shouldn't feel like a battle.
