Despite the fact that my pool and yard is now (FINALLY) 99% finished, I need to ensure my story is shared to protect any other people from going with this company. Here are some of the issues we had in our 11.5 month process of putting in our dream pool. I apologize for the super long post. 1. We were told that the pool would take 4 weeks to come in and 2-3 weeks to complete the job. We paid over 2/3 of the total cost of the project last July and no work was even started for 2+ months. 2. When the pool was lifted into the ground they cracked it (this did get fixed but slowed the process). 3. The plumber caused a small gas leak and when we notified the company about this they said they would take care of it. 2 weeks went by and nothing, Mitch got someone to come fix it and we paid for the repair ourselves. 4. We were told to pay the rest of the money when they put the pool in the ground, the next day they told us they weren't going to complete the project until spring. They had all the money for the project and weren't going to do anything for 6 months. We asked for money back to hold until Spring and while Shawn told Mitch he would, he never showed up all winter to give it to him. They had numerous appointments set up and Shawn would always come up with a new crazy excuse for why he couldn't come and bring us our money. It never happened. 5. When we started the project, Shawn owned California Pools (which was who our contract was through). Mitch called California Pools Corporate over the winter because of his frustration. Shortly after that phone call Shawn and California Pools split ways and Shawn told Mitch it was his fault because of his complaint. Mitch called California Pools to verify this story and they told him that was absolutely not true and the split had been in the works for months. 6. This spring they told us that it wouldn't be until July before they got someone to do concrete around our pool for decking BUT if we paid $5,000+ more and switch to pavers we could get it done faster. Shawn told Mitch he would pay for a little bit of it himself to help out...he never did. 7. Now it was my turn to deal with this crap all by myself....they finally started working on things after Mitch died (weird). First issue I had was that my heater wouldn't work right, it kept shutting off. The company couldn't figure it out so my neighbor got a heating/cooling guy to come look at it and he told me that it was hooked up wrong and it was very dangerous...he fixed it for me. Luckily the company paid for this bill. 8. I decided to add an autocover after Mitch's death for added safety purposes. I gave them half down to order the cover on May 30th with a promise/contract that everything would be done 6/30. On June 24th there was still no plan for cover install. I asked Shawn for proof of the order from the company which he couldn't provide me for 2 days and actually responded in a text to me telling me to "stop talking to him like a child and threatening him" after me asking for 2 days for proof he didn't steal my money. I ended up calling the company myself and they had the order but he didn't order it until 2+ weeks after he had my money for it. 9. I just found out recently that Shawn has used Mitch's death as an excuse for why he wasn't working on other customer's pool projects because he and Mitch were "such good friends for years." This one makes me the most mad because they were never friends...EVER, and Shawn's treatment of Mitch and I caused Mitch such anxiety and anger over the last few months of his life. I think those are the big ones and despite the fact the kids and I LOVE the pool, I can't believe how Mitch and I were treated by this company over the past 11.5 months. There were a lot of variables that did make it last longer than it should have, but the lack of communication, lies and disrespect was worse than the actual timeline. The last conversation Mitch and I had was of course about our pool nightmare...and how frustrated we were and still unsure if the plan and timeline. This makes me so angry.

My project started November 2020 and I was supposed to get roof patching and front porch windows…read moreinstalled. Corey Simon said it would cost $4058 total and expected 50% down. I paid him $2058 on 12/2/2020 when all that was done was the 2x4 frame work on porch. He said he would have to come back the next day with a blow torn as the roof already had snow on it. He never showed. Once the snow started falling consistently, I knew the project wouldn't get completed until spring. Once it started to get warmer and there was no longer snow on the roof, I contacted him and he still didn't show. Then it started to rain and water started to leak into the house. I contacted him again and he said he would be by the next week. He never showed all week despite my constant calling. I then had no choice but to contact another contractor to patch the roof. That cost me another $1100 on top of what I paid him. At this point I asked for a refund and he kept putting that off. We spoke on the phone and I told him I would be taking him to small claims court which he then replied "you do whatever you need to". He continually cut me off, when I called him a liar and con man he told me he was recording me. After I continued to try to schedule a time for refund he just hung up on me. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the attic lacked adequate insulation, with only 2-3 inches of deteriorated insulation present. Additionally, the entire attic, ceiling, and chimney required vapor sealing and the removal of old insulation. To ensure optimal sealing of the home, the basement exterior rim joist should also be foam sealed. Prioritize Energy Testing: Conducted both before and after the re-insulation of the home. The purpose of this test is to identify the existing insulation characteristics of the home and compare them to those after re-insulation. Insulation Team: Tyler, Nick, and Trevor - all highly skilled and professional individuals who consistently provided us with updates throughout the entire process. The attic upgrade process involves several steps: 1. Removal of old insulation. 2. Chimney wrapping and proper ventilation of the bathroom vent fan. 3. Covering the pod ceiling light and adding vent panels for the eaves. 4. Sealing the entire attic and ceiling with spray foam. 5. Spraying in 17 inches of cellulose insulation (fire retardant, pest retardant, higher R-value, and 100% recycled). 6. Construction of a new attic access cover with insulation. Basement Rim Joist Sealing: The entire basement rim joist was sealed with foam. Prior to this work, we had capped the concrete block basement wall tops with rigid foam and caulked in 2022. Current Residence: Acquired in 2022, necessitating extensive maintenance. Previous Energy Upgrades: 1. In 2022, the furnace and ducting were replaced. 2. In 2022 and 2025, the 1954 windows were replaced. 3. In 2026, the outdated air conditioning system was replaced with a Bryant VAN 290 Heat Pump. Why Choose a Heat Pump: Prioritize Energy Efficiency Conclusion: 1. Keeney's sales process was entirely transparent. 2. The initial energy testing revealed that our home requires upgrades. 3.
