UberEats was having a BOGO deal and that's how I got around to trying them. It was $20.05 for a Chef's Choice Chicken Katsu bowl, buy one get one free! It had rice, salad, pineapple, mango, avocado, carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, and edamame. I chose the spicy mayo sauce. And also requested no sesame seeds, which wasn't a problem at all. The Chicken Katsu cutlet was a good size and was nice and crispy. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the vegetables were all fresh. The flavours went well together and I loved the different tastes and textures. The sauce wasn't excessive in amount (which I appreciated as I hate it when my food is drenched in sauce) and was creamy with a hint of kick (but wasn't too spicy). All around a delicious meal. Portion size was good. Not skimpy. Staff were friendly and nice at pickup. There are some tables to eat in, although I got my food to go. Street parking only.

All the vegetables looked freshly cut, and we're not at all soggy and were very crisp. There is a little bit the two little sashimi for me given that a bowl is almost $20. It was a bit surprising how little fish got. Like any other bullshit like a burrito? It really depends on how much the person chooses to fill the bowl. I got two items on if I don't get one free deal, and one was substantially filled more than other. For $20, if it's gonna be low amounts of fish, then I really think they should invest in some premium items, such as fried onions or more seaweed, or kimchi, or some thing that makes it feel a little bit less basic. It really is just your bare essentials vegetables with some salad and sushi rice. Delicious still, just might not be at full price and wait for uber eats coupon or something.

The Short Version: Ramen and Poke restaurant not far from…read morethe Ottawa airport. Good food, nice ambiance and excellent service. The Long Version: My mom and I had lunch here and we enjoyed it. My mom got the Kimono Ramen $22 and I got the Chicken Kaarage Poke Bowl $19. My bowl wasn't on the menu in the restaurant but I asked the server if it was available because I saw it on a menu online and she said that it was in fact available :) My mom's ramen came with pork belly, grilled chicken breast, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo, bean sprouts, a marinaded egg, and ramen noodles. She asked them to hold the sesame seeds so that I could have some. I had a taste of everything except for the pork belly (it was too fatty for me, lol, but my mom liked it), and I thought it was tasty. The ramen noodles were nice and chewy (she chose the thick noodles) and the broth was good. It wasn't too salty. I liked the lean grilled chicken breast as well. My poke bowl came with sushi rice, mixed greens, edamame, cucumbers, avocado, shredded carrots, and shredded surimi crab (they call this Kani salad, it's basically shredded imitation crab with maybe a bit of mayo). I got 5 pieces of chicken kaarage. They were crispy and nicely seasoned. I enjoyed them despite them being dark meat, lol. The vegetable ingredients were fresh. The sushi rice was a bit clumpy, but once I mixed all the ingredients together, it was fine. Service was wonderful. We were greeted right away and brought a carafe of water. Once we got our food the server noticed we were trying to share a bit of our meals with each other and she offered to bring us 2 small bowls. The bowls were incredibly helpful and made sharing much better and less messy, lol. I felt the food was about 4 stars but the thoughtful and attentive service bumps this place up an extra star in my books. Decor is pretty. Design is sleek and modern. The restaurant is in a plaza with several other restaurants and shops, including T&T Supermarket. Free parking available in the plaza parking lot. Review #80 (2026)

The first time I went in 2016 we ate inside, had some drinks. Ottawa can be a bit of a letdown food scene wise but for me this was a shiny spot. This time, in Sept 2022, I stopped in to go the tuna burrito, asked for a side of pickled ginger and soy sauce. It's a great concept, a bit on the pricier side but it's sashimi so I get it. I forgot how dangerous build-your-own is :'(…read more I've been wanting to try this Paradise Poké for so long! When its first location opened on Bank, I'd always walk past but they'd be sold out. I finally got to try this location after seeing them on UberEats and wow, did I ever pay for it haha I got the build-your-own poké (BYOP) bowl, which already starts at $21.95 before taxes, fees, and tip. I got it with sushi rice, double ahi tuna (an extra $6.75), all the mix-ins (cucumber, green onion, sweet onion, and sesame seeds), miso ginger and coco-wasabi cream sauces, purple cabbage, edamame, radish, pickled daikon, and crispy shallots. It was so loaded and I finished everything but the rice, but in hindsight I don't know if I really needed the double tuna. They were nice, big, meaty chunks, but I do wish they were marinated instead of just plain ahi tuna. The rice was good and warm when it came, but I really didn't need that much of it. The veggies were all great and fresh. The pickled daikon was surprisingly sweeter and not as sour as I imagined it would be. The crispy shallots were a nice addition, and even though I had two other onions in my bowl, I didn't feel like the onion flavour was overpowering. The sauces were good but not as flavourful as I expected or would've liked. I would've loved to taste the wasabi a bit more, but it was very, very mild and not at all spicy, in my opinion. I didn't quite taste the miso, either. Loved the option to customize, they definitely use quality ingredients and have don't skimp on the portions, and I was full and satisfied. I don't think it was quite worth the price I paid, but I'm glad I tried it! It ended up being a comparable price to the prime rib I actually thought I ordered (watch out for those multiple UberEats carts haha).. I'm sure they were very confused with the "medium rare and horseradish on the side please" note on the order LOL Next time it would make much more sense to go in person to avoid all the extra fees on third-party delivery services.

The bowl & cutlery are all compostable too! My only two quips vs this business is: 1. Charging $20 for a bowl of sushi/brown rice with an asian fusion mix of fixings is very pricey, compare this to a $9 rotisserie chicken, or a $13 medium pizza, or a $17 order of perogies? $20 is very expensive! 2. This business also lacks restroom facilities. There's a simple counter and chairs if you want to dine-in, but then you're on your own to go elsewhere if you need to the restrooms. I will definitely be a regular customer at this business, but it'll be no more than once every other week, only because I can't afford to go more often!

I had the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich with a side salad ($13.95). I loved that the shrimp in the Po Boy was not breaded/deep fried, so it didn't taste greasy or oily at all. The amount of shrimp was good, as I had shrimp in each bite. The sauce had a slight spicy kick to it, and the cabbage slaw added a nice crunchy texture, and a bit of creaminess without being too rich. The bread was dense and it held the sandwich together well, the bread did not get soggy and the sandwich did not fall apart. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. The side salad was real mixed greens (hurray for no iceberg and no romaine!). It had shredded carrots, cucumbers and grape tomatoes. Vegetables were fresh, and the dressing arrived on the side as requested. The dressing was a sweet and sour vinaigrette, which I enjoyed, as it wasn't too oily. Service was friendly and the place was bright and clean. The layout is unchanged from when the space was The Bowl. It's a very casual eatery for a quick meal, by yourself or with coworkers or friends. Not exactly a romantic spot for a date, IMO. There's one gender-neutral washroom at the back of the restaurant. It was clean. A great place to grab lunch/early dinner (they close at 5pm) if you work at Tunney's Pasture, or live nearby. I'm looking forward to trying their other options! Street parking only.

Comparing it to other ramens I've had in Ottawa, I have to admit it's nothing crazy. After eating it don't expect to be blown away because there are better ramen, but at the same time the flavours are still there so it's not bad! The reason I have to give my experience a 3/5 is not only because of the average tasting ramen, but the service was also lacking... don't get me wrong the staff are very friendly, but after placing our order, we nearly waited for 45 minutes-1 hour. I know it's partly our fault for not following up with the waiters sooner, but we're pretty understanding people and we don't like confrontation when it's not needed. But around that 45 minutes mark, I had to say something because your girl was STARVED. Stomach growling and everything. The staff finally checked for us and they said they've JUST placed the order in... however the waiter was super nice and when we went to pay at the end, he apologized and defaulted us to not provide any tips given the long wait- which was much appreciated.
