For our weekly breakfast get together we decided to try somewhere different. We heard (and it's probably common knowledge) casino food is a little more affordable than most places, so we headed over to The Cove at Paradise Casino. The food plates online looked decent enough! The dining area vibe was open and inviting. I ordered The Fort Yuma Big Breakfast and something to bring home for the fam off the under $5 menu. I ended up boxing up part of my main pick! The plate was had more food than I originally thought; more tastier, more enjoyable as well Our server Ramona was quick to refill our coffees and easy to have conversations with! I recall going to PC for the fireworks during 4th of July. I'm forever grateful for the memories there. It became a family tradition to go there and see the fireworks. The good: the food is good and the wait staff tries to overcome lack of organization and training. Less than half of the tables are filled but they have a waiting list of up to an hour. The bar isn't any better, bartenders don't know what products are available, customers can't see what is available because of all the boxes, wine bottles, empty glasses, etc Lack of advertising is obvious as I had to ask about specials when I saw people being served items not on the menu read more

Went to The Cove restaurant for dinner last night. Staff is not friendly, server didn't check back on us, and food is mediocre. We have eaten at Sidewinders at their sister Casino, Quachan, several times and were expecting the same level of service and food. We were very disappointed. Went to the Paradise casino restaurant, on a Wednesday afternoon. The wife ordered the ribeye steak. When it came, the steak was overdone (well vs medium) and both her asparagus and baked potato were Cold. My rib dinner was better, but the ribs were a bit overcooked. The waitress who took our order, Never came back. The kitchen staff delivers the meals.. that's fine, but when we needed salt and pepper, and go boxes, we had to snag a different, passing, girl. We stayed here in our camper van for $10/night. Overnight area is huge, flat, well lit, safe. NO SMOKING in the casino, what a relief. Get your camping pass in the gift shop. Staff was friendly. Dinner in the Cove restaurant was more than adequate, but think coffee shop, not high end, and you'll be fine. Only problem was a big rig parked right behind us late at night and ran their diesel engine all night. They could have parked anywhere else but chose to be near other campers, grrrr. I only went with a friend to the Cove cafe. No gambling. Service was slow and food arrival the same. Got Fish & chips. Fish was OK but fries were not even warm. My friend got cheeseburger sliders. She asked for onion rings instead of fries. She ate one ring and no more. Said they were greasy. I tried one, and agreed. I've had better meals at Denny's. I will never return. Arrived in a Thursday afternoon and ordered the Taco Salad .. it took forever to get our order .. there were 6 people in the restaurant at the time ... the cook left OUT the beans and ground beef. The bar tender Cody was far from knowing what he was doing. He made myself and my wife a Bailey's and coffee with whipped cream. He served it to us without the whipped cream? I asked him why he said we are out, we could go take our cocktails to the kitchen and see if they had any? He had back up. We asked a floor person get us. Some creamer. They did. The second cocktail was a complete blunder. He attempted to make us a Cadillac margarita right now. The margarita came to us with far too much sweet-and-sour and lime. Enough to gag a maggot. The Grand Marnier was not floated on the top. He said he started in. I couldn't taste it. I asked if he has a premix margarita mix back there or do they make their own he stated he makes his own. Probably he should entertain tasting his product at some point. I let him know that I am a retired bartender, and he should probably learn the proper Mixology. There was no saving that margarita at all. He then told me that the sweet-and-sour and lime were pre-mixed? Not even the right way to make a margarita. They were disgusting and he was quite rude. Paradise this is not bringing back customers. Have a great day as your casino. This was March 21 at approximately 12:00 PM. He said he had no control over anything. I've been here three separate times. During two of those visits, half of the table games were closed. Aside from the lack of real or virtual table games, the casino offers many different themed slot machines. The food is cheap but not worth it unless you're in the middle of your gambling bender, and down too much money to order some Postmates. Smokey as hell is the first that comes to mind when I think about this casino. You better be prepared to tolerate the heavy cigarette smoke, I smelled like and felt like I smoked two packs after I left that place. As for the play experience it was actually a pretty good experience. I lost $80.00 dollars but I was entertained for over 3 hours with that amount. A person near me won $1,500.00 and had to wait an 1.5 hr to be paid! One word of caution, you better have at least three forms of I.D. If you hit it big. The manager of the restaurant (heavy young man with a 2-3' pony tail) saw us in line and ignored us for about 10 minutes, we noticed that he was repeatedly coughing in his hands. He escorted us to our table while continuing to cough in his hands, he then reached out for two cloth towel/cutlery and handled both with the hand he was repeatedly coughing into. Our meal was a patty melt - hamburger, it tasted ok, and was overly 'sauced' and the beef patty didn't taste very well, it tasted like a lot of additives were added to it. Fortunately the meal came with paper towels which we used because of the contaminated cloth napkin. After dinner we went into the gambling area, it was very smokey and unpleasant for us non-smokers. I live very close to this place and well, I avoid it like the plague. Don't mind me though, I worked here for 3 years straight and I am not the biggest fan of coming home smelling like stale cigarette smoke and despair. There isn't a big choice of slot machines, no table games, but they have bingo... It is about one or two steps above being a bingo hall. There is a small dark bar and lounge on one side of the building, and a small restaurant on the same side. The restaurant is a bit on the dull side,being that they stick to a set menu and serve the same specials every week. Small Casino but the machines are pretty good if you bet $15 or more. My boyfriend walked in with $600 and left with $8,700. Most of the people inside only bet $0.40 to $1. Just called this casino to plan out my trip while visiting family in Yuma. The attendant who answered did not know much information about the bingo sessions. Sighs such as...ughh & response such as I don't know should NEVER be said to a customer inquiring about going to spend money in their casino. My experience with this town makes me begin to wonder if the pesticides they spray on the fields has affected the brain function/ capacity of this community. I'd rather believe it's a management issue of not properly training an employee.
