We were even provided with a list of suitable locations and coordination of such. The teacher/host was friendly, had good painting tips and guidance, and was very enthusiastic with his work. And dang it, painting is hard! This time it was Starry Night in San Diego. But I went off on a tangent and added a AT-AT, Death Star, Klingon Bird of Prey, a USS Enterprise, Star Destroyer, a Borg Cube, and an Ion Cannon, but no one seems to see that, doh! Unlike the 1st Grade, the teacher did not scold me or give me a "F" for not following instructions. IRONY: We paid $30, but it does not include wine, you still have to buy wine(or whatever) at the venue. Luckily it was still Happy Hour, so I got a beer for only $4. I might have subtracted a star it if it was more expensive, but since they call themselves "Wine and Paint" they should at least include a crappy plastic cup of Charles Shaw or Tisdale. Right? I still had a great time, so I'm going to let that slide... Note: I'm not a single guy, but if you are, this good place to meet girls...the class comprised of about 25 girls, me, and a very bored looking guy dragged here by girlfriend. Just place yourself in strategic spot...you'll have just over 3 hours to turn your small talk into a Facebook Friend Request, or more.

They are super patient and will teach you all the basics needed to create some beautiful items. Our youngest kid loves this place and now has the whole family going to create and just have fun away from all digital noise. They fire everything for you and take great care to ensure you get a good looking piece back. Can't say enough or share the appropriate nice things about these folks. Walking distance to great restaurants and shopping so really easy to plan a great day that includes a stop at this location. Parking is out front or across the street.

We were in SD for my birthday weekend getaway. We had reservations for a restaurant at dinner time…read moreso we had time during the day to do something so we decided to give pottery another go. We took a class at a pottery place in Laguna Beach last year so we wanted to give it a try again because it was pretty fun! We did the one time class pottery wheel try it class. It was $80 per person. Which is on the pricier side, compared to the other class we took last time. I will say this class was more informative than our last class. Our instructor taught us how to start working with our clay, demonstrated how to do it, worked with us, helped us out, showed us different techniques and steps on how to form our pottery. It's was definitely more challenging this time around because I think we didn't have to do as much in our last class we did. My boyfriend said he didn't like the pace of the class and having to work with a whole class. Our last class had less people so it was more intimate and slower, as for this class it was a little bit more of a faster pace. In the end we made 2 pieces. First one was like a practice piece and the second one was when you kind of got the hang of it and the final product looked better. We were only able to take one piece home. Our instructor said she typically does 2 pieces because she teaches faster but we are only able to take one. Honestly, I didn't like my first one too much so I was okay with that but I know some other people in the class wanted to take both. After you are done you have to clean up everything and put everything away. Then you chose the color glaze you want from a choice of 4 or 5. They glaze it for you then they tell you when it's ready for pick up. We are not from SD but it's an excuse to come back down to pick up our pottery.
