Unique Dish: I love your Seafood Laksa. It's lagi Sedap Sia. One look know Cantik. Food: Giant Portion size. Sure Full!!!! Service: Waitresses are well presented, smiling & polite. Came quickly to us when we raised our hands for service. Atmosphere: Well decorated & Clean. Temperature is Climate Controlled. Toilet is extremely clean. Great Music at the right volume. Place is packed full of people eating and queuing thus the food must be good. The food turnover rate is high thus the food must be fresh. Price: Value for $$$ I give it 5 / 5 stars. I highly recommend you to bring your family, colleagues and friends there this week for a pleasant gastronomic experience. Yummy~ Best regards, Jianfa Ben Tsai Fat Guy with 35 years of Restaurant Dining Experience Managed Food Business Worked at 5 Star Hotels

This is a regular place I go to with my partner and aunt-in-law, but yesterday, because it was a holiday, there was a sign up saying they were charging a 10% surcharge because of the holiday so we went elsewhere.

I was pretty stoked to see this a new Malaysian restaurant crop up overnight in this prime QV location. On just their third night since opening, the place was jam packed with a fifteen minute wait for a table, so we popped down to Bread Top for a quick pre-dinner snack. We were seated within a couple of minutes of coming back at the perfect spot with a clear view of the counter adjoining the kitchen so we could see all the mouthwatering meals come out, but without being jostled or bumped into. Their ordering system, which was quickly explained to us, is fantastic. You're given a form you fill out with the corresponding menu item number, quantity, and additional comments. There's a separate section for ordering beverages. The only flaw, if I have to pick one, is that one of our mains came out first, followed by another main, followed by an appetizer, followed by our drinks. I wrote "after meal" in the comments section next to dessert, just to see what would happen. The dessert came last, but well before we were done with the rest, by which time it was no longer hot and had fallen apart a bit, but was still very good. For starters (or what was supposed to be our starter) we had hot, fresh roti with wonderfully moist curry chicken. There were some dipping sauces (the sweet-then-spicy tamarind sauce was a big hit with us), but unfortunately just one piece of roti. One more piece would have been perfect, but there was so much food already that we didn't ask for more. The boyfriend's wok-friend noodles with shrimp and cockles were gone in a flash. I opted for the vegetarian sweet and sour chicken with rice, which by no means passed for poultry, but was a more than adequate substitute all the same. My Ribena Melon drink was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. The boyfriend's Mango Mania was better. For dessert, we had what's apparently called Tau Foo Fa King with Melaka sugar. We had originally ordered the same dessert with egg pudding, but they were out. It all kind of looked like pudding on the menu anyway, but turned out to be something else, and although we don't know what it's supposed to taste like, we were quite pleased. The only drawback, as mentioned, was that it was served so early that it had cooled down and maybe didn't taste the way it was supposed to. Service was impeccable the whole way through. There were loads of wait staff about, and any one of them who happened to walk by when we needed something was more than happy to help. They even cleared our table with a smile, and when we got up to pay, the employee very genuinely (but needlessly) apologised for the lack of staff, and was practically ecstatic when we said that it had been wonderful. In all, PappaRich has definitely hit the ground running at QV. Great vibe, fresh food, and enthusiastic staff make me want to come back again soon.

I came here as recommended by a mate, with high hopes of authentic Malaysian cuisine. The food was tasty but the service knocked this down to three stars. Upon arrival, I was asked to put my outside drink in a bag as it wasn't allowed and then watched a child sip on his slurpee. I'm not quite sure why the same rule didn't apply to that party. Then we sat and waited for a waiter to make eye contact so we could hand them our order slip. We ended up waving someone down after several minutes. This should not have been so challenging as it wasn't that busy and we still had closed menus on the table, a sure sign we were ready to order. Next came the long wait for only my mate's dish to arrive. Several minutes passed before our other dishes came and by this time I was hangry, not going to lie! So that was the terrible service. Now to the food. Roti canai curry was excellent. Tender cuts of chicken, delicious roti and flavourful sauces. My mate enjoyed the beef randang plate and it looked good. Our shared kebabs were just okay, chewier meat than our main dishes. Sauce was good but ended up going with the ones on my plate. All in all good value, however I don't care for the poor service and would prefer Mamak over this establishment. However I could be convinced for one more try.

I was pretty keen to check this place out after a few Malaysian friends had said they really liked the food here. I like spicy full flavoured food and feel like this place was a little dumbed down. It was reasonably cheap, incredibly fast, had a fun ordering system where you write down what number each dish is and the staff are just there to get the job done. The vegetarian noodles were fine but would have been pretty bland without the hot sauce I added to it. The apple, orange and water Mellon "juice" all contain a sugar syrup so not fresh at all but they are brightly coloured and tasted sweet and nice. The stand out dish was definitely the egg roti. Nice and tasty and served with 3 side sauces (the chilli and satay ones were very nice). I would probably go to mamak over this place but for a cheap(ish) meal it was decent.

I went to PappaRich for one reason: Nasi Lemak (with chicken curry). The nasi lemak was well done: the chicken curry and the chilli sambal were both richly flavoured. The chicken came with plenty of curry sauce, which is good to eat with the rice. I enjoyed the sambal enough to order more to go with my meal. (Unfortunately there's a charge for extra sambal :( )

*3.5/5 for food. The Pappa pan mee soup (n18) is a little too salty but pappa chicken rice with steam chicken (r01) is excellent. I would recommend the second dish. *5/5 for service. I think the way they take orders is very efficient. Each dish has a code number and you simply write down the codes and quantities in a note and give it to the waiter. If you need something during the meal, push a green button on the cultery container on the table. Love the efficiency! 4/5 for interior design. A nice-looking restaurant, which I thought would be more pricey than it is actually :)

Papparich is a Malaysian chain restaurant that served south-east Asian food. Located in QV (prime location), this restaurant is popular with many of the students and people that live and work around the area. Do expect a long wait during peak periods, and please do not expect exceptional table service. I find it funny how people like to judge places by a dish (Ie. Hainanese Chicken Rice). Some restaurants are just better at making some things than other restaurants are. That being said, I really do enjoy anything with Hainanese Chicken in it, and Papparich nails it. Get anything that has Chicken (Noodles / Rice / Congee) in it, I promise it will be a decision you won't regret. Other favorites of mine include Roti and Nasi Briyani. Come with reasonable expectations, and leave filled with delicious Malaysian food that won't put a dent in your wallet.

It's quite crowded most of the time. However, service is pretty quick so you don't have to wait for a long time after ordering. Water is free but you have to ask them to bring water for you. Quite expensive. Chicken and seafood laksa, curry chicken nasi lemak is good. I wish there is more coconut in the soup and rice. It's not really spicy which is great for me. I also like crunchy eggplants in the laksa. Not a fan of char kuay teow. It's not really special.

Ordered the Ipoh kuay teow soup w/ steam chicken. The soup was soooo salty it was funny!!! I was too hungry to return it!! Just sifted thru the noodles and left! Very busy student hang out... based on this experience I don't think I'll return. The chicken looked good but tasted dry.

Good food and very fast service. Self ordering and city location were best when you really needed food to fill you up.

Woohooooo, Eureka this place is still open, we were the last customers. As we walked in two Ceiling fans were working hard, I don't think the AC was on, it was HOT, steamy, the room is filled with South East Asian aromas and it's not even a 40 degree Melbourne day, lots of goodness has been cooked and served before us, humidity, smells & sweats, reminiscence of a Hawker street somewhere in KL, Kuala Lumpur. I can feel my sweat from the BoxFit session has a new flavours now. From the Street level, this place is nothing fancy, the bright Green Jade colour is the only attractive feature about it, BUT what they are serving are incredible for what they are charging, they could and should charge more. Started with the CKT (Malaysian and Singaporean loves to abbreviate words) or Char Kwee Tiaw, Fried Rice Noodles, then Char Hor Fun, Combination Fried Rice Noodles with Egg Gravy sauce and lastly some Curry Puffs or Samosa (Indian) or Pastel (Indonesian). This pastry varied inside, but has common ingredients; Potatoes, Curry and Chilly. It was the right decision, not sure whether my muffin top would agree, worry about that later. In under than 5 minutes after we ordered, those goodness were flying onto our table .... so QUICK .... they served the best first ..... CKT - Char Kwee Tiaw, easy 8.5/10 ....VERY strong aroma of the Pork Crackling and Chinese Sausages, BIG Prawns just needs that burnt-wok taste, makes it a little drier .... That was a joy for around $12 Char Hor Fun 7/10, not quite there, rice noodles needs to be fried more but the Egg Gravy Sauce was tasty, it can be better and traces of the egg yolks still prominent, that tasty runny eggs .... about $12 Curry Puffs easily 8/10, fried to perfection, balanced ingredients and served hot, very important in my opinion, the aromatic flavours lingers as you bite into it, $5,50 for three. All these flavours plus Sambal & Chillies makes my palate sings. Life doesn't get much better than this after a long long day. Simplistic Joy and no drugs needed, just some CKT. A decade ago or so we might not be able to get these kind of offerings, so I must thank & commend the Chef and proprietor of the business for bringing that Hawkers' spirit and providing these goodness for us to enjoy.

While my partner insisted on ordering the Hainan Chicken, which arrived quickly, my order of "Hawker Laksa" took a significantly longer time to be served. In fact, my partner had already finished her meal by the time my bowl of laksa arrived. Although the restaurant has been in this location for quite some time, I was surprised that the waitresses were not taking orders. Instead, customers were required to approach the counter and place orders with a counter person there, who would then give a number stand to be set on the table. The Hainan chicken was okay, yet the fine chopped ginger was an additional $1 charge? On the other hand, my laksa was delicious and I could tell it was made with the authentic ingredients of that Hawker Street. While the restaurant was not very busy at the time, I found it frustrating that my partner and I were not served at the same time, and the wait for my food was quite long. Given this, it would have been nice for the staff to provide a clearer explanation for the delay. However, despite the wait, I must say that the laksa was well worth it. In fact, I would recommend trying the laksa despite the long wait.

BBQ pork laksa had a nice broth, but the pork was tough and not very flavourful. The Hokkien noodle had a decent sauce. The tom yum fried rice was tasty but a little salty. Nice ingredients. The grass jelly iced tea had little flavour aside from brown sugar. The so-called chicken satay wasn't even satay. It was fried chicken on skewers, flavored with turmeric. It's a bit like the chef is doing rough analogies of Malaysian dishes. That said, the place seems to be doing quite well and has been around for years. A friend had recommended this place and so four of us went out here for dinner on a Friday night. Service is quick. Menu is expansive with a large range of appetisers, a few noodle dishes, curries, laksas, and even Thai food (so bizarre). Meals are for person only and not for sharing. We ordered the following: 1. Traditional curry laksa which arrived with one mussel (literally), some prawns, two pieces of white fish, and some tofu in an average sized bowl. The laksa was served at room temperature. It was yellow in colour, not super creamy or thick (so lacked the creaminess and flavour of coconut milk) and tasted like turmeric only. Not spicy at all. Even the extra sambal I asked for didn't help with the flavour. It lacked flavour. 2. Nasi lemak with beef rendang - the beef rendang tasted exactly like the chicken curry that came with the sliced up cold roti canai. My friend couldn't even tell if he was eating beef or chicken. Fail. 3. Char po hee - goeey looking rice noodles covered in an eggy slime and hiding mushrooms underneath tasted like nothing. Just slimey. We left most of it behind. Cash only too. Very disappointing. Restaurant is clean. Service is quick because the food is not fresh and served at room temperature or cold.
