If you're looking to pick some delicious berries and beautiful flowers, this is a great place to do…read moreit! Berry Patch Farms is a beautiful get away in Brighton for a fun family activity. We had a great time on the hayride, collecting both blackberries and raspberries, seeing the chickens, lots of honey bees, and sheep, hanging out with a sweet farm dog, etc. It was well worth the drive and a very relaxing experience for all of us.

I only get to visit at most, once a year and I really need to find a way to change that. The owner,…read moreClaudia, is the most beautiful and kind person and treats everyone like family. You may even get to see the farm doggo if you're lucky! If you are like me and enjoy finding unique fruits and veggies that you don't see in any grocery store or even at your summer farmer's markets, this is the place for you! The drive is a quick one from Denver and once you are there on the farm, you kind of forget where you are! The store will take you back in time with it's simple set up with vintage coolers that store all of those beautiful veggies, and old tables stacked with baskets filled with even more veggies and fruits. There are heirloom options and the choices vary throughout the season as new things come in. On one of my visits this past summer, I picked up a huge bunch of home-grown Edamame that was far better than anything I have gotten anywhere else. It was actually quite fun to remove them from the stems to wash and cook up. I also was able to find beautiful Italian green beans - my absolute favorite and never-able-to-find option. The tomatoes are always a go-to and are so flavorful. I found out how the heirloom options are grown in the greenhouse and how that has provided the sweetest results and can confirm, they are very sweet and delicious. Along with the veggies and fruits, you will also find some locally made goodies sold in a brown paper bag that are a great treat to take for the ride home. Also, don't miss the dried pepper selection! There is also a cooler/freezer with meats and fresh eggs. When I was there, it was golden raspberry picking time and there were many families out for the tractor ride to the bushes to pick their own. Be sure to check out their website for hours - the opening is limited and you want to avoid making a trip unnecessarily and you can find out about special events, picking times for the fruits, cakes, and flowers and CSA share options. Claudia and Tim operate a farm that is certified organic and you can be sure their offerings are truly fresh, truly local, and truly organic as their motto says.

My husband and I have been members of High Plans Food Coop for a bit under a year. We really like…read moreit. We're always impressed by the quality of the food we receive. How it works: Producers set up to sell their products through the High Plains Food Coop site. Vendors sell a variety of items, from meats to eggs to vegetables to prepared items. Even things like soaps. It's all screened through the coop board. Producers must meet certain standards. Most meat producers use no hormones or antibiotics in the meats they sell. They are often smaller farms with high quality meats. Produce is generally not treated with pesticides and often grown under organic conditions. Producers are from the front range, Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and Kansas, I believe. Buyers: Anyone can be a buyer! You have to buy into the coop, I believe my buy in last year was $40 for an annual, non voting member. Next year I will certainly go in at the voting member rate. Then you shop. You shop during the first week and a half of the month (ordering closes the second Thursday of the month). There are exceptional values on grass fed beef packages, fantastic bacon, farm fresh eggs (from chickens that have never seen the inside of an industrial chicken farm, thank goodness), delicious vegetables and many other things to buy. I even bought my uncle a full body roasting pig for Christmas (long story). You can read about each producer as you're contemplating buying their wares. Once you've made your selections, you wait until the cycle closes. On the third Thursday of the month, between 4-6 pm, you go and collect your food. Payment is made either then, via check or before pickup, through Paypal. We've never had a problem with our shipment. Meats arrive frozen and packed in coolers. Eggs are in their cartons; we've never had one broken. Everything has been of the highest quality. We really like supporting local farmers and ranchers and we like that we know that the cattle have lived good lives (and died in humane ways, for that matter). That is very important to us. You do have to factor in the costs. The Share Fee ($40-$100) and then the 10% transportation and handling charges can add up. But when I do the math, I can get a beef package, hormone free, with both lean ground beef and roasts, for about $4.50 per pound. That's as good as you can get it at your local market and a darned bit less expensive than at Whole Paycheck. And you are sure where everything is coming from. Something to think about.

People ask on Yelp Talk-- Where can I get this or that cut of beef? Where can I buy rabbit? Where…read morecan I buy duck or goose? Where can I buy a pork belly? Where can I buy chicken heart? You can buy any cut of meat you can dream of and much more (pies, breads, soap, laundry detergent) from regional family farms from the comfort of your computer and have it delivered to a location near you once a month. I can't give HPFC five stars because the Park Slope Food Coop in Brooklyn is still "Woo Hoo As Good As It Gets" and "king of the mountain" of food coops that I have experienced. High Plains Food Coop could possibly surpass the Park Slope Food Coop if it: (1) adds more farmers who can supply organic veggies and fruits when in season, and (2) makes its supply consistent (sometimes it is out of items for a long period -- like now, it has been out of pork belly for a few months). First time checking out the South Pearl Street Farmers Market and it definitely won't be my last!…read more This market has a great mix of local vendors, fresh produce, ready-to-eat food, and artisan goods. It's open every Sunday from 9AM to 1PM, and while it gets a bit crowded, the energy is great and it's absolutely worth showing up early. I came with the intention of buying produce... and somehow left with a haul of food, drinks, and snacks instead (oops). But honestly? No regrets. Here's what I picked up: R&R's Texas Tacos & BBQ - Grabbed the Norteño Taco, Guadalupe Taco, and a Bean & Cheese Taco. All three were flavorful and filling--definitely recommend starting your market stroll here. Draft Signature Drinks - Their iced vanilla latte with oat milk hit the spot on a warm morning. Smooth and perfectly balanced. ‍ Pat & Bear - A 6-pack of macarons in flavors like churro, pistachio honey, and lemon blueberry. Delicate, delicious, and beautifully made. Cultura Chocolate - Picked up their drinking Mexican chocolate, champurrado, and agua de horchata. Everything tasted rich and authentic--perfect for gifts or treating yourself. Reunion Bread Co. - Pastel de nata, almond cake, and a ham & cheese focaccia. Every bite was a winner, but that pastel de nata was a standout. Whether you're there for produce (maybe next time!) or just to explore and graze, the South Pearl Street Farmers Market is a great way to spend a Sunday morning. Friendly vendors, amazing variety, and a strong local vibe.

This one was in the parking lot closest to Macy's. It wasn't too big, but they had a nice variety of vendors, with food, crafts, plants, and artisan goods. That had a live band playing some chill tunes too which was nice. Absolutely loved the fresh baked bagel spot called Springs, they had this scallion olive oil cream cheese that was delish, and had their toaster on site to prep everything right there. Shame they don't have a brick and mortar location - they said they pop up at a lot of these markets on weekends and do catering (wonder what they do in the winter?) Also was tempted to get some permanent jewelry, there was at least 3-4 vendors offering these. Maybe next time! Had such a nice time here but it's very hot and the only shade are a few tables with umbrellas for eating that were mostly taken. Stay hydrated!

They had a few treats like caramel apples, tea, and hot cocoa, which made it feel extra special. We leisurely walked the trail, and it took about an hour to see everything. Price: Tickets were just $9 at the end of the season about half the usual price! Water was $2, which is reasonable for being out and about. Definitely a budget-friendly holiday outing. Crowd: Going late in the season was perfect practically no one there. We could take our time and really enjoy the lights without feeling rushed. Customer Service: Staff were friendly and welcoming. Check-in was easy. Just scan your ticket at the front and everyone at the food/drink stands was helpful. Overall Experience: I had a great time. While I might personally pick Denver's Blossom of Lights first, Chatfield Farms is still a fantastic, affordable, and festive experience. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday lights outing.

The majority of our party lives in Littleton and was excited to check out the location Unfortunately, a negative staff interaction--combined with the management's subsequent response--left us unimpressed and unlikely to return or join. We needed to change a soiled diaper and politely asked the restroom attendant (female, long brown hair) to briefly use the nearby locked restroom for that purpose only. She refused, directing us to walk "down the path" to another restroom she was "pretty sure but not 100% sure" had a changing table, and displayed clear frustration (sighing heavily, pretending to search for security) when we asked again. No other guests were around. This posed an unnecessary health risk to our infant and felt anything but family-friendly. After escalating the concern, the manager emailed us explaining that their processes were only implemented in June 2025 and they're "still working out the kinks." More frustratingly, they admitted the restroom was intentionally closed on Free Day specifically to prevent lines from forming--not for maintenance or any operational reason. Prioritizing crowd control over basic family needs like diaper changes is disappointing for a venue that promotes itself as welcoming to families. I followed up with the management asking what changes had been implemented and did not receive a response. Very unprofessional. Regrettably, this experience has left us neither confident nor interested in becoming members.
