What a fantastic surprise! The shrimp cocktail was among the best I've had (first time having powdered bacon fat) and the grilled Caesar salad was perfection (delicious creamy dressing and pretzel croutons)! Bangers and mash ... wonderful. Somebody in that kitchen cares deeply about food! We will be back!

Not fancy by any means, but perfectly fine for a neighborhood pub vibe. Business was pretty brisk for a weeknight and there was just one FoH employee who was taking orders (you order at the bar), bringing out plates and bussing tables. Kudos to him for doing a good job handling all that. The BoH kitchen staff did a good job, too, as it didn't take long for our food order to arrive. The menu here is eclectic, which was a big reason we chose this place for dinner. Unfortunately, one of the items we had hoped to try, the Swabian (German) spaetzle, was sold out by the time we got there for a fairly late dinner. We opted instead for the roesti potato. This is a strange dish that involves what is essentially a shredded hash brown-style fried potato topped with sauerkraut, pickled shallots, cheese and a decent-sized dollop of mustard caviar, all served on a bed of greens. It worked, for the most part. Strange taste combinations, but not bad. We also had the blackened tuna Waldorf salad. This was a little different than expected. The pan-seared ahi tuna was cooked nicely (leaving it a bit underdone inside). But it was chopped into small pieces that were fully mixed into a tartar sauce along with celery, shallots, green apples and red grapes. So it was basically a fancy tuna salad. Fortunately, it was a very tasty tuna salad. I wish all the tuna salads you get in restaurants was this good. It was served over mixed seasonal greens with asparagus tips. All of this went very well together and was a really excellent and innovative twist on a Waldorf salad. The menu of draft beers on tap was pretty varied and voluminous as they have their own brewery (Ethereal Brewing). This restaurant is their public house as they call it. I particularly liked their hefeweizen, but they had a porter that was also good. Overall, an interesting place with good food and beer at decent prices. Not a 5, but definitely a strong 4 at least.

Rating: (3.6/5)…read more We've been to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse a couple of times, but finally decided it was time to leave a review. The restaurant has a nice, warm atmosphere, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We usually head straight to the bar because the happy hour menu is really what keeps us coming back. The happy hour deals are a great value. A personal deep-dish pizza is only $7, which is hard to beat, and the drinks are half price as well. The beer was nice and ice cold, which is always a big plus for me. They also have a lot of appetizers to choose from, so there are plenty of options if you're just looking to grab some drinks and a few bites. If you haven't tried their happy hour, I'd definitely recommend stopping in and checking it out. Great prices, cold beer, and plenty of food options make it a solid spot to hang out.

We were there for the lunch Pazookie special for $13. I got the strawberry salad. I've had this before at the old O'Charleys. This one does not quite match up, and there were hardly any nuts in it at all. The vinaigrette isn't as good, but the rest of the salad was great. My son got the double cheeseburger with fries. It was fairly routine from that standpoint. The fries were good. The surprising part was dessert. My son ordered the chocolate chunk, which was fairly good and I ordered the Oreo, which was surprisingly excellent. He got a soda and I got a water and we were out of there for about $35.

I went with a taco salad, my wife had the Buffalo chicken wrap, and my son had the fish and chips. The taco salad was very good, not great; the Buffalo chicken wrap was very good, not great; the fish and chips were way overcooked...bourbon dark brown overdone. The service here is quite good, but painfully slow. It took an uncomfortable amount of time to get our food (maybe because they just kept frying that fish). But seriously, I spent too much time in here. And yet, my server was great. I kinda felt sorry for the guy as he was trying. I'd go back. I just need to plan more time in my day when I do it. They are close to having it all together, it seems, but are just lagging. My guess is that they are understaffed as most places are. It's hard to find people. But if you're nearby I'd say it's worth a stop.
