bacon, tomato and ranch white pizza AMAZING!!!!
    Joy L.

I must admit I am something of a pizza snob. My family has lived for 5 generations in a part of Philly that has a "thing" about pizza. Although I haven't lived in the city for over 30 years, I spend a lot of time there. And I have a "thing" about pizza too. My ideal of a pizza is simple. The cheese should be high in fat, the sauce should be simple (not overly herby, sweet or tangy), a bit on the garlicky and salty side, and the pieces should be large and floppy so as they need to be folded in half to be properly consumed. I am also of the opinion that GOOD pizza requires no toppings. In fact, I am of the opinion that toppings actually DETRACT from a pizza and are only necessary to mask a poorly made pizza. But alas, Papa Luigi has finally humbled this pizza critic. Upon the advice of a friend, I went a bit out of my way to visit Papa Luigi's. My initial impression was not promising. The parking lot is a narrow strip without a curb along a busy road at a dangerous intersection. The modest dining area lacks a foyer, on cold or hot days diners will be assaulted with wild changes in the temperature of the dining room. Instead of going for the typical humble pizza joint look, it tries to be cute and fails miserably. I begin to question my friend's suggestion. Park the kids at a table, and walk up to the counter to order. My plan was just to order a large plain. Then I see the offerings. OMG. The sell pizza with everything but the kitchen sink on it. Not a good sign. Why are they hiding their pizza under all these crazy toppings? But there was one (not on the menu) that intrigued me. It was a fork and knife kinda pizza with chicken fingers, bacon and ranch dressing. I got one slice for myself and a plain for the family to share. They took my order and a short time later the gal from the counter delivered a very tasty looking pizza to our table. Sampled the plain first. Wow. Just wow. What a fabulous pizza. On par with the best pizza in the county- Luca's Pizzeria in the Mall. A proper pizza. YAY! They obviously were not trying to hide a bad pizza under all those toppings. Next, I sampled, then DEVOURED my ranch/bacon/chicken pizza. Think Cookie Monster, only it was me, not the Monster, and pizza and not a cooke. I tore that byotch up. And it was very filling. No need for a second slice. I forgive them for their crappy parking lot and pathetic, uncomfortable dining room. A week later, I found out that Papa Luigi is actually a small, locally owned chain and there is one near my house in the booooonies that delivers. I've lived in the woods for 10 years and have never had food delivered to my house. I think I've died and gone to pizza heaven. Humbly yours, the Pizza Snob

Chicken Frances, TRASHED after one bite. Shrimps shells were mine after making my own dinner

We just stopped in and had slices of pizza and french fries and everything was good. Staff was friendly and place was clean. No complaints.

Customer Service is garbage. I've been a loyal customer for…read moreover 15 years. They have a nasty attitude when you call. I've tolerated that for the longest time because I liked their food. This is is the straw that broke the camels back: They Refused to honor their own voucher system. Requiring more than the vouchers state. While giving the nasty attitude. They just lost what was once a loyal customer. Never ordering from them again. Only giving one star because I can't give less. Maybe they'll learn to appreciate their customers.

Does anyone know what Manny's hours are? They don't seem to know, or they are keeping it a secret…read morefrom their customers. Their own website says they are open tonight until 9pm. I called to place an order at 7:34pm and they did not even say hello; they said "Manny's Pizza, we're closed." I know it is not easy to manage a take out place, but this is the kind of thing that does not take an advanced business degree to get right. If this was a one off thing, I would not bother to complain. This is the third time in the past month I have tried to place an order more than a half hour before their own website says they were closed only to be told (in a pretty rude way) that they were closed. They just seem to check out whenever they don't want to put in the full hours they advertise. The food's pretty good, but not good enough to be worth the hassle. I will try again at random times to see if they get their act together, but not going to plan on it for dinner with friends as we were planning tonight. Get it together, Manny's.
