April, 2025. We were traveling, and I had a taste for pizza for lunch. I found on my map app that…read morethis Pizza Hut was nearby. We parked, and I excitedly pointed out the sign near the entrance that they have a lunch buffet. Upon entering, we waited at the "please wait to be seated sign", while observing the environment. The dining room was relatively small and on the dark side, with only one family seated but not yet eating. There was a small salad bar, with only a few salad ingredients. We didn't see any pizza on a buffet. A delivery driver came in to pick up some pizzas for delivery. We were largely ignored for a few minutes. My husband called out to a worker behind the counter, and she informed us that she was understaffed and didn't have wait staff hence was only offering pizzas for takeout. She informed us that the sit-down part of the restaurant was closed. This came as a surprise too to the family already seated. We were traveling and didn't want to eat in the car so we left, as did the other family. There are a few small things that could've made this a more agreeable situation. They could've offered to make a take-out pizza that we could pick up at the counter but eat at one of their tables. At a minimum, they could've had a sign on the door that it was take-out only rather than ignoring us after we already entered.

When the manager came over to change the channel, we realized the TV was probably a recent add on since a good portion of the screen was blocked by the pendant light. People: the server was obviously not happy for us to choose to eat inside because when we told her it was our intention to do so, she responded with a very long and very awkward pause while looking from side to side. If that didn't make it clear, the fact that she took our order and then never returned to our table was very clear. Someone else bought our good to the table and then we were on our own to get the ranch dressing and drink refills we wanted. Product: besides a hurried job of pizza cutting resulting in disproportionately sized slices, and a heavy hand of banana peppers that got added to compensate for other missing items on our pizza, it was Pizza Hut pizza. Nutshell: Clarify the ingredients as you get it to go.
