It did the job, but a bit raw. I knew what to expect , and that's what I got. Filled my belly.

Nasty, dirty, mold, mildew, grease, no service. Hair in pizza. Under cooked crust. Dirty dishes.

Fantastic BBQ! Don't let the exterior fool you. And don't let the interior fool you either. It may…read morenot look like much, but the food is super good. I stopped in for some BBQ during a road trip, and clearly this is a place that many truckers stop at as well. The service was curt but efficient, polite, and on point. The place doesn't look like much. But the food arrives promptly and it is really, really tasty. If you are passing through the area, do yourself a favor and stop by BBQ 65 for some delicious BBQ. You will not be disappointed!

BBQ is a gem of the American countryside dining. Partially, because the only other alternative is…read moretypically fast food. But, that would not be a fair description of this tradition: BBQ is an incredible style of cooking and spots like this represent this tradition well. BBQ 65 is conveniently located right off the interstate in a gas station in a saloon like building that has a beautiful character from the outside. Open since 2010s, this spot has started to earn its place in the BBQ world, albeit being newer to it. There is an indoor seating inside near the gas station shop aisles. The ribs are cooked well with a nice wood profile, but neither very delicate nor particularly notable for their flavor of the meat itself, with smoke notes dominating. The quality of pork itself and the slightly tougher preparation could be better to rival Alabama's best. The BBQ sauce is loaded up with vinegar, completely overpowering the meat if consumed together, although to be fair, this may be a matter of preference for some BBQ lovers. The star of the show is potato salad which was perfectly balanced on its acidity, sweetness and overall flavor. As a whole, BBQ 65 is a pleasant stop to experience some traditional southern cooking and support a local business instead of tossing money into another "by the exit" fast food chain.

This poor location has so many bad reviews…read more We pulled up to this spot midway into a road trip. Initially headed to the Wendy's next door one suggested here. I'd never been nor heard of the place. Heck I'd never been to Alabama either. My friend described it as a Long John Silvers so I said sure why not. Inside looked like a regular old fast food restaurant. It was a little cold from the a/c, but most importantly it was clean. We were greeted warmly by the young gentleman at the register. He asked if we'd been here before (no), explained the menu and then told us they just finished renovating it last night. There was a small family eating by the window and from what I could see the drive thru had a line. I ordered the 15 Piece Butterfly Shrimp that comes with your choice of two sides and hush puppies. Not feeling the side options in the middle of a road trip I opted for a double serving of fries as my side. Looking at my plate I realized I ordered too many shrimp. The others got chicken strips and fish. When all was done the young man checked on us which to me is mind blowing - they don't do that up north. Of course I checked out the bathroom. Again clean. Not sure if we lucked out or not. I'd say I'll be back, but I'm 90% sure I won't be in Alabama again.

We had to wait for Salmon to cook which I didn't mind but once we drove off I realized not only did…read moreI not get the water I asked for but my fish was raw in the middle and not okay for consumption.
