Pizza is my most favorite food and I order twice a week for the past 10 years in Birmingham, and this is BY FAR the very most consistently made, quality-delivered Pizza in Birmingham. I have been ordering Pizza in Birmingham for the last 10 years. Pizza is my all-time most-favorite food and I order 2 times per week. THIS PaPa Johnson on 11th Ave South in Birmingham, next to the Kangaroo & Chevron accross from the UAB Dorms Since I delivered food in College, I'm always so sensitive to tip at least $6.00 to my driver. Tonight, I ordered my pizza at 10:18PM and it arrived at 10:40PM (only 22 minutes). I'd like to say a special thank you to my best good favorite delivery driver Emerson for his consistency over the years. He's been an amazing steward to his company and I am forever grateful for all of the times he has rushed-delivered my food. Ask for Emerson to deliver it and tip this man well; he deserves it! read more

This afternoon I purchased a pizza from Papa John's on 1429 11th Ave. S. in Birmingham, Alabama. When I went to order it, I noticed a young man that was in the out did not have a hairnet out. His nails were so long and disgusted and dirty and I wished I had never bought the pizza, but I went ahead and got it and it was not what I thought it was gonna be the lady in front of me paid $17 for a large everything on her pizza I end up having to pay $28 for everything on my pizza. The same thing she got so you know I don't understand it but some people I'll give them up on a rating and that's about how I could give it. read more

First of all, I have to start with what I thought was impossible--a 100 health department score! What an accomplishment. As someone who has worked in the food industry, I know how hard that is to achieve, and it truly speaks to the team's dedication and standards. For dinner, I was excited to try the famous gluten-free dough. I kept it simple with a cheese pizza to stay vegetarian, and I was honestly so impressed. I couldn't even tell the difference; it was that good! The crust had great texture and flavor, and everything tasted fresh. On top of that, the service was excellent from start to finish. The cashier was friendly and welcoming, and the cooks were efficient and clearly took pride in their work. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Great food, great service, and a spotless kitchen, what more could you ask for? 10/10, highly recommend! Will definitely return! read more

Papa John and door dash are both thieves papa John's allows people to come in and steal food that was already paid for and neither papa John's nor door dash wants to take blame and doesn't want to refund money. I was embarrassed for ordering lunch for me and my coworkers just for the dasher to call me and tell me someone picked up my order and neither one wants to refund my money this is robbery read more

This location has always given me great pizza. They are on time with orders, and staff is pretty friendly. I highly recommend this location. read more

I just called to place an order for 10 pizza delivered tomorrow for a workplace luncheon and the manager tells me she is too busy and I will need to call back after 3pm, "I aint got time to deal with you." Well i got time to leave a review, I hope if you ever need anything someone has time to deal with you. What a joke!!!!!:( read more

i think it crazy that after spending $80 on food, they want to charge for parmesan and crushed red pepper packets. every pizza place but this one gives them for free. they also don't offer plates. read more

I would give 0 starts if I could , Terrible experience, rude staff & will not be ordering from this location ever again . Forgot my drink on my delivery only to be told " well what do you want me to do " ?? And then proceeds to tell me they don't have the drink I ordered so instead of calling me to inform me & possibly send a replacement drink . I'm just supposed to pay for I drink I will never receive & be told to basically just deal with it read more

To add a little less stress to our week my roommate and I decided not to cook but to order food from this Papa Johns by campus. The location of the store is very convenient because you don't have to leave campus to get it so Papa Johns is always our number one when it comes to pizza. We decided to get a large pepperoni pizza, the basics are the best, along with an order of chocolate chip cookies. We went inside to pick up our order because they offer Carryout and the service was great. The employees were nice and punctual and friendly which always makes you a little happier to spend your money. The food was great, the pizza being my favorite part because it was fresh and cheesy. Overall I enjoyed my visit and I will come again everytime. read more

I have a few words - service not - quality is substandard - would not recommend or return

I ordered a medium pizza with olives and green peppers from here last week and it was delicious. The delivery time was very reasonable, he took about 30 minutes to get to me and was very polite. I always enjoy my pizzas from here and have eaten Papa Johns's since I was little. I'm not sure of the Covid precautions they have as I have not been to the restaurant in person but the delivery driver was not wearing a mask so I'm assuming masks are not mandated for the workers. Overall great pizza and customer service! read more

I ordered in this Friday night and decided to get some pizza. Papa Johns is probably one of my favorite "mainstream" pizza places simply because of their complimentary pepperoncini that comes with every pizza. At this location, whenever I ask for an extra one, they always give me an entire bag! I usually get light tomato sauce on just a regular cheese pizza and smother it in pepperoncini juice. read more

The pizza was exactly what I expected. However when I'm told a thirty minute delivery time and in actuality it was closer to two hours ?!? I could have walked to the Pig and bought a Tombstone pizza. No offense to Tombstone, but the quality is the same. What frustrates me is that no one answered the phone when I called for an update. And the tracking app is useless and inaccurate. I will never order from this location again. Once they got my money it was over. Maybe I'll get a pizza in an hour or two. We're not answering the phone. Shady, unprofessional people. read more

Overall, this was a pretty good experience! This was my first time at the location. I ordered 2 pizzas for my suite mates and I, one large pepperoni and now large stuffed crust. It was ready relatively quickly and was fresh when I received it. The pizza was delicious too! The workers were all following COVID-19 protocols by wearing masks. I liked that these boxes could be recycled to maintain sustainable packaging. Would recommend this location, especially since it's so close to UAB (if you're a student) read more

Good Papa Johns location. I live over in Southside so I stop by/get deliveries a good bit. Everyone at this location has always been really nice in the store and the delivery drivers are always really courteous and don't make me feel uncomfortable. This Papa Johns location doesn't have a parking lot so park over in the CVS lot rather than at the gas station. read more

Papa Johns Pizza - Pizza Near Me - Birmingham, Alabama

Ordered a large pizza. Said it would take 52-62 minutes. Called after 68 minutes and was told it would probably be another 20-25 minutes. I canceled the order and was told that it will take a couple of days for that to show up on my credit card. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PAPA JOHNS read more

I had no idea there was i papa John's downtown on 11th street now I don't have to drive to hover, or Vestavia to the nearest one and it's even better that I'm less than 10 minutes from downtown. When I order pizza I always call ahead of time so you don't have to wait long time for your order and when I got there my order was ready I will be back to this location customer service was good too read more

I always order pickup/carryout from this location when I want a good pizza because their service is superb. I order the meat lovers, but what I love most about their pizza is the crust and that their pizza is always made fresh to order. Nonetheless, I always add 8 mild wings to the order, which also is very tasty. However, the pizza parlor is small so no one can eat in there. And the workers were following COVID precautions by wearing masks and only a select amount of people in the eatery at one time. In regards to sustainability efforts, they package the pizza and wings in a box, to keep it warm, which is cool because you can recycle the box afterwards. read more

Papa John's Pizza is actually quite special. The price was super reasonable - I couldn't believe it! Really yummy and also wholesome. The service was also fantastic and everybody was charming. I can't wait to return to Papa John's Pizza. read more

Would give 0 stars if it was possible. I called in a delivery order at 8:21pm. Was told it would be 25-30 mins. At 9:06 I called in to check on the delivery and was told it would be another 25-30 mins as the call center was wrong on the original delivery time. I called back again at 9:40 and was told the driver was getting ready to leave with the order. Had we been told right away it would be an hour and a half we could have ordered from somewhere else and wouldn't have had to deal with this. Should I have canceled the order after an hour? Absolutely...the problem was, everything else was closed. read more

Food was awful! Pizza crust was burnt. Never ordering again. Worst pizza ever. The crust was so bad. The veggies were limp and tasteless.

Of all the chain pizza joints, Papa Johns is my favorite. Good location next to campus, and open late.

Ordered a Medium pizza said it would take 35 minutes... lady that took order spoke very bad english... I paid over phone and with a tip for the driver. 1 hour later still no one. I call and ask I was told no lady worked there. The delivery guy calls and said he delivered it to the wrong house... that the manager was going to call me... I waited no call... I call and told manager it's now been 1 hour 45 minutes and he said do I want another pizza or a refund... what do you think the proper thing for the manager to say would be... I'm sorry I will refund you your money and get a pizza to you as soon as it's made. He made me choose. Terrible all the way around!!! read more

Love the pizza but customer service is through the food at this location. Called with 30 minutes left open and the attendant kept putting me on "hold". Bad management letting people like that work there. read more

Customer service was horrible. Would never go here again. It took 30 minutes just to take my order. They ask my ZIP Code 16 times. I had to pay twice because they could not get it right. I asked for crazy bread, they said a large cheese pizza. I asked for a small pizza and a crazy bread. Do not recommend. Pizza Hut would be better than this. My 16 kids are starving. Took an hour and a half to get here. Slow drivers, don't have more than $10 cash for a change, I paid with an $100 bill, don't recommend. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends. What horrible customer service. She left me on hold for 30 minutes. That is unacceptable. I should be calling corporate. read more

The pizza was delivered ahead of schedule, and the delivery person actually followed the no contact procedure. This has been a problem at other pizza restaurants despite tipping online beforehand, they will randomly insist on handing you the pizza instead of following their company's policy. That has never happened to me when ordering from this Papa John's. We got a cheese and a pepperoni pizza for our game night. Both pizzas arrived hot and fresh. They were not overly greasy, and had had a generous amount of toppings. Our Covid pod is only 5 people, and we were all very satisfied and had leftovers. We also tried the cinnamon pull-aparts, which may have been a mistake. Those things are way too addictive, and we finished them before the actual pizza. read more

The employees are great and the pizza is always good. They are consistent and reliable.

i ordered from here while i was at work in a hospital and the driver didn't even wait 3 minutes before he took off. He called up to my floor and said that he was waiting out front. I called the store and the manager claimed that i never ordered! I had the pizza tracker-saying it was on it's way-and it had beed debited out of my account. the store manager refused to give me his name so I called back and spoke to another employee who did give me his name-christian. he was extremely rude and refused to replace our order. I order from there all the time but i will be contacting corporate. I just received a refund from them. First they called and said that they were out front of my work, then they said that they didn't receive my order, then they brought back the food cold and lastly they gave me a refund! The manager told me that my order didn't even exist! read more

you'd be better off driving the extra 30 minutes to Hoover than to deal with the HORRIBLE service here. not worth your time or money.

Had Papa Johns Pizza at this location. I give three stars for the excellent service and speed at which I received my pizza. But the pizza was way below what Papa Johns standard once was. The service was great! The pizza, not so much. Don't plan to return. Sorry Papa John read more

This location does a nice job of making sure that your order is to your satisfaction. Every time I've ordered from here, the pizza has been well-crafted, and they certainly don't skimp on the toppings. This location is also quite clean, and the workers are very professional. My orders have almost always been on time, and the rare times that it wasn't ready took just a couple of minutes' of waiting. read more
