The home is less than 10 years old so replacing toilets seemed a bit excessive. I ended up researching the noise the toilet was making myself and realized that it was something that can be fixed pretty easily. I called the manager and spoke to him regarding the poor advice received in regards to replacing the toilets, and he said they would send a second technician to assess the situation. Instead, he sent me a message stating that the initial technician was right and did not send another technician to assess . I ended up going with a different company who came and replaced the valve ...which successfully lowered my water bill by 50%. Problem fixed - without having to replace the entire toilet. I was initially a fan of NSP, but this last visit was very disheartening. I think if they had sent a second technician to evaluate what I was concerned about, they would have seen that the first technician was indeed wrong. I will not be using them again.

It seems he does not try to understand well what the customer is asking: his answer to my "why"s were not good. Details: He quoted me $150 to fix a low refrigerant issue. on visiting, he told me $260 saying that the system has 0 feon. That made me suspicios. The pressure of the system when off was over 200 PSI as shown in the attached picture. Suspecting that he was lying, I weighed myself with his 410 gas tank before he started putting in the refrigerant: 68.9kg. After he was done, I again weighed myself with the gas tank: 67.7kg. So he only put in about 2lb (1.2kg) of refrigerant, certainly less than 3lb. Even after seeing my weight measurements, he told me he put in 4lb. I asked him how did he came up with the 4lb number: he said by looking at the pressure readings: I think he knew he was bullshitting. The system label says it holds 68.8oz 410a (4.3 lb). so it was only about half empty. A 25lb gas tank costs ~300 so. the cost of 2lb 410a is less than $30. so he should have asked for $180 ($150+$30). After complaining, he did reduce the price from $260 to $200, which I consider fair (other quotes were $100-$250). My main issue is his deliberate-seeming low quote and what seems to be deliberate lying.

From the very start of beginning the process of finding the right AC system, Emmanuel was extremely responsive to all texts and messages, at basically all times of the day. I had a million inane questions and concerns; he answered all of them. We narrowed the list to three 5-ton options. The most expensive one was of my choosing, an American Standard unit, and the other two were a Rheem and a GrandAire (which I hadn't heard of before, it's a subsidiary of Carrier). He recommended strongly that I go with the cheapest one, the GrandAire. He was absolutely correct! It saved thousands of dollars, and it works extremely well. He added a new Nest thermostat, as well. I couldn't be happier. The [minimum 2-year] warranty that he backs up his work with has to be one of the best. In 2015 I paid almost $10k for a new 5-ton Trane XV20i. My issues with Direct Air (now Direct…read moreHeating & Cooling): The unit is too large. My house only needs a 3.5 to 4-ton unit. So not only did they overcharge me, but they installed an inefficient unit for my house. I learned recently that an oversized unit cycles too quickly and doesn't dehumidify, and short-cycles in hot, humid air, which likely caused my unit to struggle, wear out components faster, and develop persistent operational issues like shutdowns and poor humidity control. I had an electrician do some work around the house and he showed me all the mistakes Direct Air made when they installed my unit. I won't go into detail here, but it was terrible. Similarly, I had my ducts replaced and the company showed me several areas where my new AC was not installed up to code. That was in 2015. Maybe they've improved since then, but I've had other issues more recently. They never could get my unit to stop shutting down randomly, causing me to reset it at the breaker in the middle of the night. I had one technician come out and tell me I needed to replace the condenser fan motor for $500+. A few months later, I had another tech come out (this thing always needed maintenance), and I mentioned the condenser fan motor -- he took a look at it and said it was fine. Other dude obviously tried to scam me. They're always really nice and respond quickly when I call, but man, the issues with the installation are awful. This company scammed me.

The other day our other one died. We had just had them service it last month and was told it's fine!! So we had a nice young man from Direct air come in and run tests and he quoted us $2288.46 to repair it. He also said that it's an old unit (2014), so it would be better to get a new one and we received a quote for just under $12,000. We told him we needed to think about it and spent two nights with no air!! We decided to look up how much a motor would actually cost and they were only about $650! Wondered why we were quoted so much, so I called another company who said my unit was perfectly good and replaced the part for $900!! I asked him how much a new unit would cost and he said around $7500! That's over a $5000 difference!!! I'm just gutted that I trusted this company for so many years and feel as though I've been getting ripped off! He also told me the air conditioner wasn't hooked up correctly and it was a low setting and was allowing a lot of humidity in the air, and he also removed a blue light that direct had installed too close to the wires and it was an electric fire waiting to happen! I don't know anything about air conditioners but I thought you can trust the professionals to do a good job when they install it, and it's just horrible to find out you just can't!!!
