Once the customer and his son was done inquiring about the drum set for sale, he turned his attention my way. I was interested in him restringing my guitars at home for my children for Christmas. I set up a time to drop them off and he assured me that he would have them done in a few days after drop-off. Tom also told me about the in-house lessons that he offers. I have NEVER been treated this way in a music store, and I was in awe that a music store employee would actively discourage a potential customer from playing the instruments. My friend was with me and witnessed the whole interaction. I was trying out a 5 string Spector bass while you were teaching a drum lesson. Then you went out of your way to disrespect me for no reason. I was handling the instrument gently and respectfully and playing it unplugged so as not to disturb you. my friend was doing the same with a guitar but you singled me out for whatever reason. Having Matt in the Western Maine/Portland area is a godsend for musicians like myself who live in…read morethe North Conway area of NH. I took my Rickenbacker 4003 bass in to him as I was experiencing some bad fret buzz on the first five frets. Matt diagnosed the problem immediately and then did a full setup and cleaning on the bass (including the electronics) and added on new strings. Matt knew I want as low action as possible for my playing style and he found the perfect middle ground between low action and fret buzz with proper truss rod adjustments. I would recommend Matt to anyone for all of your guitar/bass needs. There's a reason Matt has toured as the guitar tech with groups such as Band of Horses and the Black Eyed Peas. Next up for me will be to take in my 1983 G&L SC-3 which badly needs some cleanup and love.

For books: piano, ukelele, and guitar music primarily. The service was good. The shop owner came over and tuned a banjo for us as soon as we mentioned it was out of tune. We left with a fancy new harmonica, a handful of banjo strings, and a free pick.
