My friend brought us here and I didn't really know what to expect, but expectations were exceeded! It's definitely a unique restaurant set-up, with dessert on on side and the kitchen on the other. On a Saturday afternoon almost all tables were full. I think it's really cool how you can see the pizza oven from your table. They both ordered pizzas, but I got the drunken noodles. They were bursting with flavor and the different textures of bok choy, thick noodles, and chicken made for a wonderful eating experience. There is a solid amount of chicken that will really fill you up. I had leftovers for 2 more days! Oh and the tiramasu! Worth a try. :) Will be back next time I'm in Evansville. read more

Delicious pizza. Particularly loved the 3 fungi. Everything tasted really fresh and it didn't take super long to be brought to our table. Warehouse style restaurant with big open ceilings and an entirely open kitchen. We decided to try one of everything (Well, as much as we could this time -- we'll be back for sure). After celebrating the bfs birthday here a couple of weeks ago it's safe to say it exceeded expectations. As a Hoosier by way of Michigan (I grew up about 20 min from Detroit), I could have taken a whole plate of our Detroit-style pizza's thick, crispy, buttery edges -- but the pizza itself was also 12/10. Here's what we tried (and would recommend all of it). If they happen to have Birria Tacos on special,be sure to get those. We've had the opportunity to try them at the sister location (2nd Language) and they're amazing. While I liked the Burrata Toast, the bf said he would have preferred less-crispy prosciutto (it's very crunchy), but flavor was great! * Detroit-Style Mushroom Pesto Pizza: Wild mushrooms, house-made mozzarella, and house-made pesto sauce * Kale & Arugula Salad: Tossed hydroponic greens with house-made lemon parmesan vinaigrette, dried cherries, walnuts, and shaved parmesan * Specialty Tacos: I believe we had the Adobo Chicken Tacos -- very tasty and brought both a little sweetness and heat * Burrata Toast: Crispy prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and fresh basil We also had gelato and some drinks from the bar -- we were celebrating, after all! We ordered in the food-hall side (order at counter and they bring to table) but then had to go get our drinks from the bar side (you can bring them back over). It worked out perfectly as we could do that while waiting for our food. If you'd rather be waited on, then you can go into the bar side and have a true "dine-in" experience with food/ drinks ordered at and brought to your table. I've been coming here since they opened and my review stands as is... Five stars! The pizzas superb, no matter the style you choose. The crust is to die for and the sauce flavor is the better than most I've had in the big cities that claim pizza supremacy! So couple that with the Thai option,drunken noodles, gelato and masterfully blended cocktails, this makes Pangea a must stop on your midwest restaurant bucket list!! Know before you go...large party knowledge. They do accept large parties, and I was told they would seat us together at one large table. However when we got there it was separated into three tables in one room. So make sure you ask ahead of time so you're not surprised upon your arrival. They had a nice umami but were a bit bland bc of the sheer girth. Also i had like 3 piece of vegetables and maybe 10 small slices of tofu (for an extra $4 charge). They were generous with the noodles but this is about as an Americanized, bland, childish version of pad ke mao as you can get. We tried a lot of menu items and nothing was a disappointment. The little bar area is such a great atmosphere and they make GREAT cocktails. Was excited to check out this place with my coworker G tonight. We started off with draught beer. I got a saison that was delicious. The bar area was well decorated & the bartenders know what's up. It was fun watching them make all their concoctions. We family styled it up because there was just too much I wanted to try. We went with the Thai basil chicken, roti off the bar fare menu, and 4 square of The Butcher Detroit style pizza. The Thai Basil chicken was tasty with a touch of heat. The roti took us by surprise. It was a must try. The roti was buttery and flaky and the curry filling was such a perfect match! The Butcher was a funny finish to the "courses" but it was so worth it. Meat centric, soft in the middle, and crispy around the edges. We had to get gelato. G got the peanut butter cup & I stuck with the classic pistachio. My party and I really enjoyed the food and environment at Pangea! I love the idea that you can get anything from pizza, to salad, to Thai food. We tried two different pizzas and they were amazing. I would definitely recommend the Knuckle Ball pizza. It looked very casual when we first got there, then I realized there was a huge back room that had many more tables with comfy chairs. The lighting back in that room was more conducive to a nicer restaurant (still not too fancy) while the front room was more casual. The food came out quickly and everything was correct! This is a very unique restaurant, and definitely not what I expected. We were on the market side, and at first it was a bit of a confusing process. We ended up ordering the 4 cheese pizza. We then waited in a line to get a table. The tables were large and fitted about 6 ppl which was a bummer because it seems like a lot of wasted space and we had to sit at the bar.... very uncomfortable chairs. The pizza was good, but soggy. Maybe this is due to the type we got? When you picked up a slice it has a major flop. The dessert bar looked too good not to try. We got a small cup of gelato and a macaroon; the dessert was amazing. I spent a few weeks roaming Italy a few years ago and this is the best Neapolitan pizza I've had in the US - and better than some I had in Italy. The thing that gets me is the quality of the ingredients. Everything from the sauce to the cheese was spot on. I hate to say it but generally American food quality is lower...I don't know if they fly stuff in or have some really good producers here, but damn. I have literally been here 4 times in one week. I think I might be a little obsessed... Pangea is definitely one of Evansville's best keep secrets! I am in Evansville for business for a month and started scoping out some food options- I am so happy I found this place so early on in my visit. My first visit, I was a little confused. So the style here is you look over the menu before ordering, you go up to the counter and order your food, then seat yourself! Upon ordering you're given a number and they bring out your order to your table. I was confused because I could find the menu and didn't know the style- now I know! This restaurant has a pretty big kitchen- it's neat because you can see everyone preparing the food on both sides. The downfall to that is you can also see the stress of the restaurant biz- I've worked in a restaurant so I know how stressful it can be. During my first visit I saw one of the female managers reprimanding the runner (employee who takes orders out from kitchen) for not moving quickly enough and for not reading the tickets correctly. It was a little awkward as I was standing in line watching all of this... I've dined in and ordered carry out and I've found both to be great! I have ordered several different dishes. Here are my thoughts: Shrimp and Pork Dumplings: Super strong pork flavor! Reminded me more of shu mai than a dumpling. Wasn't a huge fan because of the pork flavor but the flavor was great. Thai Spring Rolls: So yummy! Very different from any spring roll I've ever had. The Thai basil sauce is so good- the basil flavor is strong but not overwhelming. It compliments the crunchiness of the spring roll. Pistachio Pizza: AMAZING! I've gone back just for this pizza. The honey drizzle on top gives such a great bite to the basil and the sausage is so good. The sausage here is so different from any other. It's finely added so you get sausage in every bite. I love it! The Hot Don: The gal taking my order told me it was spicy. It's okay, I'm Mexican, I can totally handle the spice... The Hot Don definitely humbled me. It was a little spicier than I anticipated- so spicy that I almost couldn't enjoy it. The flavors melded so well but dang it was spicy! If you're up for the challenge- this is for you! Drunken Noodles: Definitely a different variation from your standard drunken noodles. Very tasty- has a subtle taste of lemongrass. I couldn't quite put my finger on it but there's a crispy earthy punch to it. Gelato: Definitely save some space for this- you will not regret it! I tried the Chocolate Hazelnut, Espresso, Almond, and Watermelon. All of them were so rich! The almond is definitely a lot sweeter than I imagined. The watermelon was perfect for nice refreshing pick me up. I love anything coffee related so the espresso was my favorite! I have raved about this place ever since my first visit. It will definitely be one of the places I will miss after leaving! I have plans to bring all my colleagues here before we leave. Hands down the best fish tacos I've ever had. I came back two more times during my four night visit. So yeah, you heard me right I ate here three out my four nights here in Evansville. What a gem of a place! On a work trip in a rather small(ish) city that I have never been to I wasn't sure what to expect...after all how many Thai-Italian fusion restaurants do you stumble into? I was overwhelmed by options, but in the good way...as in everything smelled and tasted AMAZING. We started out with the burrata toast (which we originally thought was bruschetta), it was a bit cold and thick, might have been better if the cheese was a bit meltier, but nonetheless still delicious. Entree wise, I stuck to drunken noodles, which is always a safe Thai food option. It did not disappoint in the slightest, absolutely amazing. I would have ate every single bite of it if I wasn't so full. I ordered a fountain drink, as they had some local soda pop options from birch beer to orange soda, which were all dang good and I love the local businesses supporting other local businesses aspect! The pizza came out a few minutes after we had finished the salad. Nice timing overall. Sadly, the pizza was way too greasy for me. I loved the rectangle shape and square pieces, but it didn't do it for me. The service was helpful and attentive. The desserts looked delicious, but we opted for donuts across the street from Donut Bank.
