We walked in for breakfast at 10:20, the cashier was on her phone watching TikTok's and didn't turn it off or greet us when we came in. She then told us we couldn't order breakfast even though it's over at 11 on the weekends. She then overcharged us and yelled at us for trying to correct her. She discriminated against an old couple in front of everyone, screaming in their faces and saying "This is America!" after the sweet man was confused on where to order his food. She made them so uncomfortable and practically yelled them out of the restaurant. She then proceeded to scream "Whoever wanted to speak to the manager I'm right here and it better be important!!", leaving everyone shocked and quite frankly disgusted by her lack of professionalism and her attitude. We were not greeted by the cashier; well actually a "cashier" because she stood there and didn't acknowledge us in the slightest. The only ordering option was the kiosk, but they could at least acknowledge or greet paying customers of their establishment? Ordered a cinnamon crunch latte from the kiosk and after payment, an employee told me she was giving me a vanilla latte because the cinnamon crunch latte was out of season. She didn't ask what drink would be a substitution; she just gave me a vanilla latte. Thank goodness I have no food allergies and generally like vanilla lattes. We were charged for the slightly more expensive drink and were automatically given a less expensive substitute. There were six employees, and all but two appeared to be standing around. My mother had to request a coffee cup for the hot hazelnut coffee she ordered. The woman by the registers stood with a blank expression and didn't get the quiche my mother ordered out of the dessert case, just standing there doing nothing. The part that really aggravated my mother and me was hearing the employee who gave me the vanilla latte mock and complain about us within earshot. She said "it's not that serious, it's 8 o'clock" after my mother politely asked why the kiosk allowed us to order an out of season item when other menu items have the stock amount listed. I visited in July 2019 because I had a $3 eGift card to use. I arrived at 11:45am and service was good. I hardly come to Panera anymore because it is quite expensive but it is a healthier option than fast food. My max price to spend for lunch is about $6 and Panera's lunch prices average about $10 depending on what you order. FOOD -- I ordered a plain bagel ($1.15) and a cinnamon crunch bagel ($1.39) and the total price was $2.54. I got butter instead of cream cheese. The small butter packets are located next to the drink machine. The bagels were sliced and toasted after I asked. OTHER MENU ITEMS -- Besides bagels, they sell sandwiches, soups, some pasta, and pastries (muffins, croissants, cookies, etc). I honestly have no complaints and a 3/5 star review is average and fine. This Panera location has alot of bad reviews on Yelp but my order was done right and efficiently. I like the outside seating area and I sat there for a few minutes eating my plain bagel before my friend picked me up. Placed an order on the app for pick up. When we arrived, the order was sitting completed on the counter behind the staff with my name on it. If we hadn't asked for it, we would not have received. When we asked for it, the manager threw the bag on the counter at us without any courtesy or apology. When I tried to press her for an apology, she first pretended she didn't remember me, then refused to apologize, only saying, "have a nice day", which is a coded way of saying, "Go f yourself!". However, I'm very disappointment on the lack of customer service on Friday, March 15. At about 8:45 pm, I called the store at 6036 Mayfield Road Mayfield Heights, OH. I asked the person that answered the time of closing. They said: "We're closed now, goodbye," and hung up the phone. I later learned the store actually isn't scheduled to close until 9 pm, but that's beside the point. First there's a big sign on the cashier station stating to "USE KIOSK FOR ORDERING". As the rude person said they were "limited" which means they weren't out so why was everything marked sold out already? Shouldn't they at least wait until they are "sold out " ? Can't you cook more eggs and "fold them"? Are you out of eggs? There's a Giant Eagle across the street. Did the person responsible for ordering supplies not know they were out of stock? It wasn't a hard problem to remedy. Victoria understand customers are what enables a restaurant to be open because without sales there isn't money to pay your salary and the other expenses associated with a restaurant. When you give a rude belligerent attitude toward a customer that is asking an legitimate question it tends to drive those paying customers away to other businesses. Do you not realize there is a new breakfast place open just down the street. I hope you're not the manager and if you are this would explain some of the other reviews on this location. The person taking the order in drive thru didn't know the menu (I should of kept going but noooo I continued) 2. They were out of almost everything I wanted kids apple juice (this was after she told me they didn't have kids drinks but started listing the kids drinks they have). They also didn't have oatmeal cookies (after I purposely added a drink to get the cookie for .99) 3. The wait on my food literally took 15 minutes IN THE DRIVE THRU! On one incident, after calling them to report that we did not get something we paid for, they took our names and said the next time we come, we will get the food free. When we later showed up for the food we were never given, we were greeting with an excuse that they "lost" the sheet with our names on it and were unable to substantiate the claim! Look, you want to be able to trust that everything you ordered is in the bag, after all, its unreasonable to assume otherwise. Really. A really good example of a well managed drive through is the McDonalds across from the Ford dealership in Mayfield. On to Tonight and the reason I was ready to review. I had taste for a Thai salad and the wife wanted rice chicken soup. We were coming back from Castle Noel and hungry-what an amazing place BTW. I usually get this salad with extra lettuce and dressing when ordering. I was told that they were out of the Edmaume beans that went on the salad. I said, ok, can you just put extra nuts? They said they would have to charge me .60. I said there was no way I could just substitute since an ingredient is missing? She said no and I agreed to the up-charge. When we pulled up to the window the attendant was anti social and took my card. When I received the food we checked the bag. They had forgotten one baguette that went with one of the meals. I told the attendant and she seemed irritated that I went through the bag. We left with another feeling of regret. When I returned home, I began eating the salad. Guess what? The salad had EDMAUME BEANS! This place has horrible service and the food teeter totters on the edge of acceptable. Just another bad experience! Now for the stupid and smarter. Stopped here for a quick lunch with my family and we ate in the restaurant. Quick and pleasant service and their food is always made well. Their bread is always delicious! The tomato basil bread is a must try! Very moist and flavorful with a slightly sweet crust. For a chain fast food cafe I do feel that they are over priced but I would gladly stop here in a pinch over any other fast food establishment. This location offers home delivery and a drive through. The tables inside were all clean and tidy and we enjoyed our lunch here. High chairs are available fit little ones and my 2 year old loved the grilled cheese and yogurt we got him. read more
