This afternoon, I placed an uber eats pick up for Panera for what I thought was the Lisbon location. I showed up to grab my order and they didn't seem to have record of it. When I checked my app, I realized I had placed it at the Groton location as it was labeled as Route 12. The manager at the Lisbon Panera location was significantly more helpful than the Uber customer support. I really appreciated the understanding and willingness to help in what was admittedly my mistake. Just an FYI to management - whoever is making breakfast there should be given a tutorial on caring. Ordered an egg white spinach avocado breakfast sandwich and got no spinach or avocado, and the tomatoes were akin to the ones you immediately take off of your subway grinder. I used to go to Panera all the time. I was there virtually every weekend, working on my homework for my masters class, which meant I was there for breakfast and lunch. I really appreciate the fact that they let people stay and work, using their electricity and Wi-Fi. For the first time in three years, I went back to Panera for lunch, and was extremely disappointed. I ordered the steak and white cheddar sandwich and a soda. The cashier did not ask me if I wanted potato chips, or bread, but assumed that I wanted potato chips, which was correct. There were approximately five people waiting at the counter to pick up their food when I walked over, so they were a bit busy. Still, I waited almost 20 minutes for my order, as the first sandwich they made contained onions, which I had asked to not be included. They did catch it before they tried serving it to me, which I appreciate it. still, almost 20 minutes for a sandwich, and a bag of chips is a little excessive, in my opinion. When I got the sandwich, I was incredibly disappointed at the amount of meat in it. I'll post a picture to show you the difference between what it should look like and what I got. For a lunch that cost almost $18, I really would've expected a great deal more. read more

This morning, we placed an order for pick up at the Lisbon CT location. We had placed the order at 9:45 am to be delivered by noon at the latest. At 12:15 pm, we received an email stating that our order had been canceled due to lack of drivers. Canceling the order outright at 12:15 shows unprofessionalism on the side of this Panera. This shows that our order was not prepared at all and reflects upon the management of this Panera in general. Furthermore, it was not canceled in enough time for us to reorder for our meeting. the Panera was unreachable by phone as well, when we attempted to call earlier, before Panera canceled the order. We usually order from Panera while we host this training, however this will not be the case moving forward. This showed unreliability and lack of care for the consumer. read more

Had a very tasteless lobster roll here. People were nice. The roll looked fine. Could perhaps have used more mayo. I'm not sure why it had no flavor but my best guess is the lack of sufficient mayo and probably frozen canned lobster meat. If you're going to do this dish and charge a high price for it, you should do it well. I've heard good things about Panera but this experience taught me that they don't really care about the flavor of the food they serve. Three weeks ago, I had a breakfast sandwich and they had left the plastic wrap on from the meat or cheese. Sadly, I did not realize this until I was half way done! They refunded my money, but that is so unacceptable. I felt sick for 2 days. I had also ordered a caramel latte with almond milk. It took 30 minutes for the girl to make it and they were not busy at all. She was only working on mine and my friend 's drinks. When I finally received my masterpiece, it was so tasteless and missing the caramel for the caramel latte. Unreal! Tonight, dinner and it looked like a non went off in the dining room, right after the dinner rush, but the staff was mindful and were working on cleaning it up. Don't bother. I have never written a review like this and thought more than once that maybe I shouldn't write it but after discussing it with the two other people I went with I decided I have to. It was very dirty. The order taker had absolutely no interest in her job. I ordered a mango smoothie which was fine. My husband had a cranberry muffin and a coffee. The coffee was lukewarm, the coffee station was dirty and the milk and half-and-half containers were empty. When I asked for some milk ,the order taker asked me to bring the containers to her so she could fill them up. she informed me that they didn't have any half-and-half so I used the milk. My son asked for a plain toasted bagel with cream cheese. It had no cream cheese on it. We were traveling, so we didn't really check our food before we left and drove away. My husband's comment was that walking in to the restaurant you could tell that none of the workers had any interest in their job. I feel cheated. And I even left a tip. I stopped in this location with my parents one Sunday morning for a late breakfast. This location is large and I really enjoyed the outside seating area (even though your only view is of the immense parking lot). Upon ordering, my parents knew what they wanted and placed their order right away. I was standing directly to the side of them and before I was able to place my order, the young female cashier rang up my parents, leaving my order to be placed separately (awkward). I eventually decided on a cinnamon bun and a coffee. I am given a cold cinnamon bun on a plate and an empty cup. Apparently you pour and prepare the coffee yourself from various canisters of flavors. The coffee tasted like it hadn't been changed out since earlier that morning and was lukewarm at best. I then asked if they could warm up the cinnamon bun for me and the girl behind the counter points to a microwave in the center island; no words, no explanation, just points at the microwave. A couple months later, my mother also placed a large to-go order of breakfast goodies, as we had about ten guests staying in our home. She drives twenty minutes home only to find that they forgot the cream cheese for our bagels and our entire danish ring. She calls to see if anything can be done and is told the only way it could be rectified is if she drove back to the store that day. Bad customer service all around at this location. Even though Lisbon is lacking in high quality dining options, I don't see myself visiting this Panera again. read more

I'm really not sure I've been impressed with any Panera's I've eaten at. When you charge $4+ for a kids PB&J...c'mon. I've tried, without luck to keep the bill (for 2, mind you) to under $20 for a bite to eat and drink and it is impossible! This location is ehh. Could be kept up quite a bit more--tables, bathrooms, etc....the staff is all teenage socialites for the most part, so that is reflected in the way the location is run. Panera hasn't made me happy lately due to the fact that they never have any sesame seed bagels left. I see it like this: if you sell out every day maybe you might want to make a few more but that's just my way of thinking. So anyhoo, I also like them for a few other baked goods so after I went to a restaurant that did not have any deserts (shame on them) I was set on getting something sweet and that's what landed me at Panera. My favorite item is the raspberry almond cookie which I was informed, was replaced by an Apple foot print or some such thing. Needless to say I was not thrilled to find this out. I am a very picky eater and for me to find that perfect raspberry almond cookie took a lot of time and a lot of calories. So I know, get on with it. fine, I decided to get an Almond croissant. Bought 2 warm chocolate chip cookies and you could have broken a tooth on them they were so hard and burnt tasting. The autumn squash soup was amazing as always. If I could give a 1/2 Star, I would because I don't even think they're worth the full star anymore. They have gone WAY downhill since first opening in the Lisbon location. When they first opened I would've given them at least 4 Stars. Ever since they switched employees (every time they do switch) they are too young and inexperienced, rude, impatient, incompetent and never know anything about the items on the menu, promotions, coupons etc. and always have to ask someone else, who asks someone else and it's a never ending chain for a simple question, even the managers. And they have an attitude and get huffy and have no respect for customers whether it's the elderly, disabled or families with children. It's despicable. The prices went up, the food quality and quantity went WAY down. (They got rid of the best items Corn Muffies, Beef Chili w/Corn Muffie crumbles, Chicken Tortilla Soup etc.) Their Salads always tastes dirty and old, their Soups have funky flavors that shouldn't be in there or is too Salty. Heartburn Central, even the Tomato. (And who puts Croutons in Tomato Soup? And big chunks of Tomato, yuck!) And no Sugar to cut the acidity and little to no Cream, canned Tomato Soup tastes better! And their sandwiches are trash now. (Their Grilled Cheese is actually a dry Cheese Panini, not even a Grilled Cheese) Their Bread now tastes stale when it used to be FRESH when they first opened. It's not as busy as it used to be and barely any regulars, I used to be one. I worked across the way back then and always stopped by, 2-3 times a week. Even if I just picked up fresh Bread. (I'll bet this location will be closing, probably within the next 5 years. It definitely should! And they can replace it with a better business!) I would rather pay more at Ruby's next door or Chili's across the way than eat at Panera again! The one in Waterford is just as bad, but they have been that way! It was refreshing when the Lisbon location opened because at first it showed promise and was better than Waterford, now they're both trashy! And the counters and tables are always sticky, full of crumbs etc. Dirt, Mud and Crumbs tracked all over the floor and carpet. Gross. So many employees bopping about doing nothing, it wouldn't kill them to make theirselves useful and clean! And the employees who prepare the food (I refuse to call them cooks) manage to give the food COLD (for Food that should be hot or at least warm) and room temperature (for food that should be cold) But the Butter is always frozen and they mess up orders. And they charge for the price of Tea or Coffee just for a cup of Hot Water! (My mom has to burn food down, but needs special Tea, so she only uses the cup and hot Water) Everywhere else it's either free or 50¢ for the cup! And the last time we went, There were Stink Bugs crawling on the counter and register! I should've called the city to report it and have them closed down! Disgusting! We cancelled our order and left! (Plus the young cashier was very rude, pushy/impatient and didn't know anything about the menu, which of course changed again, and NOT for the better! For a quick food restaurant the food is very good. However let me start by saying that the person at the front should always acknowledge the customer waiting for service. Say something, anything! Let us know that you will be right with us. It also surprises me that there are many tables with crumbs on them at 7:15 in the morning. We order two breakfast sandwiches and they got the order wrong. I usually an a fan of Panera....this particular location (Lisbon, ct) is making a bad name for the brand. The food is mediocre at best. Sloppily put together and soup is lukewarm. Pastries are after overcooked and hard. The dining room is a whole different disaster. The floors are filthy and littered with napkins and straw wrappers the tables are crusted with sticky food and crumbs that have probably been there from the day before. The seats at the tables are filthy too. I looked for napkins to wipe them off but there were none to be found. Every dispenser empty. The beverage stations were also messy (big surprise) The counters sticky and trash everywhere. Probably because the cans were full so they just started leaving it on the counter. Needless to say I will not be back to this panera ever. Which sucks because it's close to my house and rather convenient. Today I took a dip into the world of Panera Bread. Although I wasn't entirely Pleased, I give this place a good 3 stars. The bread on my sandwich was absolutely delicious. Our cashier was rather delightful and very caring and considerate. Although I don't know her name, she was a younger lady with blonde hair. Anyways, the soup was good, and over all the meal was good. Stopped here for quick bite midway between Stratford, CT. and Smithfield, RI. Ordered "2 for" cup of turkey chile and 1/2 turkey cranberry flatbread, cup of coffee. Bill came to 12.84, Chili was watered down and did not even fill the cup 3/4 of way. 1/2 flatbread mushy, 2 small pieces of turkey and about 6 pieces of leaf spinach. Cranberry spears was watery. Such a disappointment! Love their oatmeal I get occ. in the AM but this lunch was horrible. Was not worth $5.00, never mind almost 11.00! will never have lunch there again. What is happening! Every time I get food here there is something wrong with it. Sometimes it's just something little like not having the correct side with my food but it is annoying when it happens so often.
