One of the golden rules of food service is food handlers don't handle money/ the register. Given the current Pandemic most food establishments who have the luxury of being open for business should be extra vigilant about sanitary practices. I was just there 30 or so minutes ago ordering to go. The person took my payment went on to handle my baguette, no gloves and no mask. Really!!! How could this be? I was shocked and infuriated. Ive been on my Panera hype for about 6 months now. On 5/27 I had thee most fantastic experience! Convenience is key, Panera has an app and curbside pick up for those who don't want to get out of their car. I ordered my usual Toasted Steak and White Cheddar with all my modifications hoping it comes out as intended. A kind women brought my order out and the bag was still warm. I was so eager...ok hungry I tore that thang open while parked in my pick up stall. OMGGGGGG PANERA GODS were loud and clear that my recent obsession is going to be eternal. My requests were fulfilled to my extreme satisfaction I couldn't be happier. So the back story is, I order almost daily from a location close to my job. Unfortunately they continue to get my order incorrect causing me to constantly contact customer care for resolution. We were displeased and disappointed with Panera Bread. We had ordered sandwiches in Portland and we were happy with the food there. When we saw the Panera Bread in Daly City, we thought it would be similar. Unfortunately the sandwiches we ordered were very skimpy. They consisted of one slice of cold cut and one slice of dried processed American cheese. The bread was dry and hard. The customer service was nonexistent. It has been awhile since we've used our app to place our orders. Our order today was not what we expected... what happened to the portions!!! We've ordered 3-pick 2 items and all three orders were considerably stingy. Takeout boxes were the same size as before, but none were filled closed to the top and my Modern Greek Salad with Quinoa was half-filled, missing kale, olive and feta cheese and I've requested to add tomato (missing. ) This Panera has always been consistent with the good service and quality of food served. This is the SECOND time I have ordered a bagel, toasted to go with cream cheese and there's no knife in the bag. I even asked the lady who handed it to me if there was a knife inside and she nodded yes. So incredibly annoying to not be able to spread cream cheese when I'm out and about running errands. This is what "rip-off" looks like...I picked 2 (attached) items from the menu costing $12.87, and the food came in tiny containers, but the sad part was...there were hardly any food in those containers-see pics. This is a stingy place! As if they were just selling me those tiny to-go boxes with just a spec of food in them. And to top it off, their so-called manager was giving me the lamest excuse of how their portions were small because they were "pre-packaged," and she was giving me this "take it or leave it" attitude. I love Panera however today as experience was upsetting Lupe at the cash register was efficient professional the transaction went well I asked for coffee bagels muffins ! Clean location, fresh hot coffee, and typical soup/sandwich offerings for food. I like this place for their wifi, clean restaurant and seating, and coffee. Parking isn't great so I wouldn't recommend this spot for rush hours. read more

Update on Customer Service 9-12-17 I ordered "2 asiago bagels with 1 cream cheese each." I was served 2 asiago bagels with 1 cream cheese only. I went to the pick up counter since my food was for here and I explained that I ordered 2 cream cheeses and only received 1. The lady got a man to help me and he asked me for my receipt. I said "oh receipt? sure ". He replied "yes we need one." I wouldn't lie to get a free cream cheese that is $1.70 but ok I get it some people might. I handed him the receipt and he said I only ordered ONE. I repeated myself "I ordered 2 bagels with 1 cream cheese EACH." which is actually reflected on the receipt because he is holding it and READING IT. Or maybe he can't read??!?! Oh boy...... -Parking is a nightmare. -The lines inside are long. -Tables were very hard to come by at the time we were there--1pm. There is really nothing to say about the food other than it is a marginal step -up from the standard, chain food you would get anywhere else. We spent $30 for lunch on the following items: *1/2 sandwich with 1/2 bowl of soup *sandwich with cup of turkey chili and Pepsi Where was the chicken on my sandwich? There was hardly any meat on it. We both ordered the Roasted Turkey, Apple and Cheddar sandwich. Really skimpy on the meat. Disappointed... The turkey chili was so-so. Not worth the hassle of that area---too many people. read more

First they forget to give Door Dash part of my order. I call they tell me I have come pick it up. I'll be on the VIP list. After standing around for a half an hour, someone finally asks are you waiting for an order. Well yea, tell them my name and situation. What's your order number. It seems the service here went down from what I remember when they just opened. Maybe it was the end of the day, but the cashier didn't seem happy to be there. It was also confusing when the kitchen staff in the waiting area called me up for my order, but then they had to confirm what I ordered and only then, did they start spooning my Mac N cheese into the to-go cup. I also opened my eyes to the price. I paid around $9 for a cup of Mac N cheese. That stuff is really delicious, but never again. To get the best bang for your buck, do the combo deals. Panera is great. I like all their pastries and food. The quality is always pretty good, but the service here should be revamped to how it was when they just opened. read more

I've been waiting to come here for the past two years I ordered the turkey bacon avocado when they brought it to me it was a half of sandwich I go I ordered a whole sandwich and what kind of bread is that do you have a choice? I said I wanted a roll you'll see in the picture literally one piece of turkey one piece of avocado and a square piece of bacon the only thing that I liked was the potato soup was the bomb. We called the manager over he tried to help out he did which was nice they'll end up giving my cousin a free brownie and now they give you two sandwiches instead of one when you order apparently when you say you want a whole sandwich okay so we eat one and get one for the next day. But really they gave me a half a sandwich which I thought that was an insult and one piece of Turkey really very bad impression it's like a little diner, and then you don't tell you where the drinks are their way in the back in the middle the good thing is there's free Wi-Fi there's a lot of settings which I like there's a patio outside. So if a beautiful day could sit out eat your food Jibber Jab with your peeps, if you want a really good sandwich walk across the street to Sprouts you can get a turkey avocado that's Bomb Diggity. Coffee at this location is watered down, why? I like my coffee with cream but there was only almond milk and 2% milk, Why? Tables was dirty and sticky. This location has deteriorated in food and service. We pay good money to enjoy a cup of good coffee in the morning. read more

After posting a not so good review from our last visit to this Panera, I have to say I'm a fan again. I love the food, but the last visit was less than desirable. After my review, Tony the manager reached out to try to resolve the concerns. He offered a meal for my family of 4 to try to make amends. Tony was not there today but Merica took care of our meal. This location seems to have the longest wait. They're usually hacked up on orders for some reason. And the food doesn't taste as good as the Millbrae location. I give this one 2 stars for effort. I'm patient, so I can't wait. Sucks for people who are impatient though. I've already seen a customer complain. Ruins my mood when I'm eating because it's all awkward when some customer is being rude and impatient. You're not paying for quality service here. We stopped at this Panera on our way to the coast. Easy on/off the freeway. Lots of parking. The restaurant is HUGE! It's one of the modern Paneras with a fireplace and a big patio. The employees were very friendly. Our food was prepared perfectly. The coffee is always good. We'll remember this one and go back for sure!! read more

K, here's some things you should know about me: 1. I love Panera. My phone has even learned that it's a word, and that it's capitalized. 2. Ive been a retail manager. I HATE when people ask for the manager. I call it raising a stink. I've raised 3 stinks in my life, and two have been at this Panera. Note : I also love avocado. I was next in line to order with the manager on register. I told him I was debating between the Roasted Turkey-Apple-Cheddar sandwich and the Roasted-Turkey-Avocado-BLT. He suggests the "crowd favorite" Avocado BLT. K. Done. Ordered. Food shows up. Immediate confused look on my face. "Miss, there is supposed to be avocado on this." "Oh, you asked for avocado?" "...it's the avocado BLT..." "Oh. Ok." *she returns 30 seconds later* refer to picture #1 with two tiny pieces of avocado. I finished my soup and debated if I was going to speak with the manager. I decided "yeah, I'll give him a chance to fix things." Fix things, he did not. Refer to picture #2 : the "corrected" avocado. Picture #3 is what the sandwich is advertised to be. After a different mishap with some disgusting salad last Spring, I've decided I just don't like the kitchen at this Panera. I'll take our business to another location. read more

I would leave zero stars if I could. I've gone to Panera twice in the past week, two separate locations, and both times my order was messed up and the food was awful. First time - ordered an egg and cheese sandwich. Came out lukewarm and with no egg. When the egg was made and brought to me, it was cold and rubbery. Second time - also egg and cheese sandwich. This time with extra vegetables and chipotle sauce. Didn't come with either one. This is my last time going to Panera. Money wasted. They should at least offer a refund or gift card. read more

I ordered a chipotle chicken avocado on focaccia bread. It was not very good at all. I ordered this from the Vacaville location and it was fabulous. This locations bread was not toasted, there was very little chipotle sauce. The cheese was not melted. Horrible. Also my smoothie wash extremely watered down. Will not return. read more
