The pick 2 is always my go to. I like to try different things, but typically will get mac and cheese with a soup or sandwich. The Mac and cheese is very creamy and rich. The broccoli cheddar is cheesy and good to dip the bread in. While Panera is pretty expensive for "fast food", it is still a hearty meal nonetheless

Window smudges at opening of store!

Went when they opened and the windows (near tables) hadn't been cleaned. It put me off of eating, but the meal (mine was just a bagel & coffee) was just as underwhelming. Panera used to be so much better.

    Green Goddess Avo Toast

I came in today to quickly get some work done before making the long drive back to Seattle. I usually come to Panera whenever I need wifi while I'm away from home, and it's still a great spot for work. However, my experience here was quite below-average this time around. I ordered the "Green Goddess Avo Toast" which comes with all these ingredients like extra vegetables. But when I came to the counter to pick it up, it was missing almost everything and was basically just a regular avocado toast. I told the staff standing in the kitchen who I presumed was the shift-lead or manager, and told her the order was wrong and was missing items. Instead of her asking what happened, she goes "did you want an egg or something?". No, I told her it was supposed to be the Green Goddess Avo Toast. Then she goes "so you want arugula then?". Uhh, yes? I want all the items that the original order was supposed to have... So she takes the plate back and I wait. I actually went back to the order-screen to double check what items came with it. Then I go back and get the supposed Green Goddess Avo Toast again at the counter, but guess what? The tomatoes were still missing from the order. I told the staff worker, but she started to seem annoyed at me for asking about it. Look, I'm not usually the confrontative type and can sometimes let things slide, but this whole interaction was just annoying and I started to feel frustrated. But come on, seriously? I didn't order avocado toast with a side of attitude.

Only slightly better than Ike's because they had classic Italian sandwich- But it wasn't worth the price tag. I won't be returning here either. So sad to try these places charging so much money for low quality. They actually ask you if you would like a side of apple chips or a bagguette-? Seems weird -huh? They cut the sandwich roll down by 1/3 so it's really 2/3's of a sandwich. Just like Ike's won't be going back here.

This place is pretty big and isn't too crazy and loud. I always found this place perfect to do homework or study sometimes. You don't have people bothering you, and it's a safe place. People who take your order are polite and on it when placing an order. Service at pickup is a hit or miss sometimes. I've gotten in the habit of checking my order. Sometimes, items are missed or forgotten. Silverware, napkins, cream cheese, etc. At times, they are not in the bag as well. It's not really a grab and go. The place is clean, and the restrooms are clean. I especially like the new breakfast sandwiches. I can't say I've had anything here I didn't like.

Plain Cream Cheese Tub was delivered. But clearly on the order slip it shows Honey Walnut Cream Cheese Tub.

Much like when poke bowls were all the rage a little while back and started sprouting up all over…read morethe Bay Area, it feels as though malatang joints are now having their turn in the spotlight. Understandably so, given how good they both are, but it's also kind of funny - with each, you can customize your order to your heart's content, but one is served raw while the other is fully cooked! Although, given how cold and rainy it's been as of late, poke bowls just aren't hitting the spot as hard as malatang bowls these days... Compared to other malatang places that I've seen, the selection here isn't as extensive as others out there, but it still covers pretty much all of the staples. In particular, there's a pretty good variety of meats and seafood, which includes beef, lamb, chicken, fish, bacon, squid, shrimp, clams, Spam, sausages, etc.) and I liked how many different types of noodles they have (egg noodles, vermicelli, ramen, instant noodles, flat noodles, and udon, to name a few). They also have a decent mix of vegetables, including enoki mushrooms, seafood mushrooms, lotus roots, bean curd, tofu, and corn, to name a bunch, but it did feel a little light on leafy greens (I only saw Shanghai bok choy, tong ho, and Napa Cabbage). For my bowl, I opted to get slices of Beef and Lamb, chunks of Sole, Lobster Balls, Crab Balls, Tofu, Shanghai Bok Choy, Tong Ho, Konjac Noodles, and Egg Noodles in their Classic Herbal Beef Bone Broth with Medium Spiciness. All together, this was surprisingly satisfying. The lamb wasn't gamey, the beef was flavorful, the egg noodles were really tender, and the veggies tasted fresh. That being said, the highlight for me just might have been their broth, which was terrific. Although it ended up a little oilier than I prefer, it packed a lot of flavor and had the perfect amount of heat - enough to tickle your tongue, but not enough to set it on fire. Even though I enjoyed my meal overall, I wouldn't say everything about YGF Malatang was perfect either. While it was nice how the beef and lamb were still semi-frozen, it was harder to tell how cold some of their other offerings were, like the raw chicken and fish. What's more, the coloring of some things wasn't all that appetizing, especially the bacon, and the cuts of beef were pretty fatty (though, this largely depends on the exact cut). That said, the bowl comes out ridiculously hot, which is reassuring as to whether the food is cooked through, and the quality of the produce looked great. Since the exact price you pay is determined by the weight of the items you grab, your meal can get pricey quickly if you're not really paying attention to what you're grabbing. That said, YGF Malatang's rate isn't too bad ($14.99/lb) and they have some combos that seem to be a bit more budget friendly. Either way, I'm glad to see a malatang spot in the food court at Serremonte now, even if there are better alternatives out there. THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded up.

There were only two other people in line when I went for dinner on a weekday, and I was told it would take about 10mins for the food to come out. I ended up waiting 35mins - the staff was at least apologetic about the delay. The food was really disappointing. I got the dry mix with medium spice, but there wasn't enough sauce to coat the noodles & other ingredients. The noodles were overcooked and extremely mushy. It was honestly so bad that I could only manage a few bites and ended up eating somewhere else right after.

He had the black bean spicy fish with white rice, and I chose the mapo tofu with fried rice. Each lunch came with tea, a cup of hot and sour soup, and an egg roll. The soup really stood out. It wasn't just a thin broth with a few scraps floating around. It was a genuine, comforting hot and sour soup with real ingredients in every spoonful. That alone made the meal feel thoughtful and complete. The portions were satisfying and well balanced, and everything arrived hot and fresh. My husband enjoyed his fish, which had good flavor and a nice texture. The mapo tofu was exactly how I like it. The tofu held its shape, which made a big difference. I do not enjoy overly soft tofu that falls apart, and this had a firmer bite that worked really well with the sauce. The dish was clean tasting, with a steady heat that was noticeable but not overwhelming. It had spice, but it did not overpower the dish or linger too aggressively. There was no pork, which I appreciated, and it still felt complete and satisfying without it. What made this meal especially meaningful for me is that I had just gotten out of the hospital a week ago after dealing with malnutrition, dehydration, and several health issues. I had not been eating well and had lost over 80 pounds in the past year. This was the first full, nourishing meal I have truly been able to enjoy in a long time. For the first time in months, I did not feel weak or fragile afterward. I felt full, steady, and strong. That kind of experience goes beyond just good food. It felt restorative. It felt like care. From what others often say, this place has built a strong reputation for bold Sichuan flavors that are still approachable. People tend to mention the generous portions, the consistent quality, and the fact that the spice levels are flavorful rather than overwhelming. It is the kind of spot that draws both regulars and first time visitors who are looking for something reliable and satisfying. Spicy House gave me more than just a meal. They gave me a moment of comfort and strength when I really needed it. We will absolutely be back.

Location: located in Daly City and next door to a Seafood City (the Filipino HMart). The strip mall-esque location is unassuming in a residential alcove, but perhaps that's why it's a hidden gem. When: we chose to dine in right as the doors opened at 11:30AM, I believe we arrived right after 11:40AM to a nearly empty restaurant. While the restaurant did fill up after 12PM for the lunch rush - service and offerings were very ample. The Welcome: a blend of glass, black furnishings along with Chinese tea decorations; the restaurant itself, while not vast - one can be seated at a table or at a booth with shared/individual pots, in addition to shared barbecue plate. Service: one of the draws for my friend (multiple visits), and myself as 1st timer; service was not only consistent, frequent, but also friendly. 10 minute increments with up to 9 items delivered by a robot and then placed onto our table by hand, broths and beverages refilled, and waiters checking on tables if anything is needed; showed a deep level of attentiveness and caring-ness. The food: while a table cannot do both barbecue and hot pot at the same time - hot pot can be enjoyed from a shared pot, a non-shared individual pot and something I have never seen (non-shared individual split half and half pots). My party & I: - non-shared individual split half and half: tomato/sukiyaki , I don't remember the other two pots, but that we each enjoyed our pots. - Just to name a few: Wagyu, pork belly, lobster balls, seafood platter, lamb, multiple cuts of beef, chicken wings, beef tripe & tendon, enoki mushrooms, fried bao with condensed milk, grilled sticky rice with brown sugar, etc. I cannot name all of what was ordered, but know that we left extremely full. Final Thoughts: $30.99 pre-tax for 1 (weekend pricing) is a steal for all you can eat in the Bay Area, and is an amazing deal for quality food and excellent service.

Pros: the Tom yum and tomato broth were both delicious and full of flavor, especially when it reduced. Someone in my group said their fries were some of the best they've had. There is also a self serve veggies, tofu, and noodle section. Cons: the quality of the beef belly and wagyu were both severely lacking. Every order comes with 2 pieces, so we had to place over 10 orders to have a reasonable amount for one round of meat. The lamb and pork belly were both a lot better.
