Once again, I stand by claim that this is the most delicious sandwich there is! Specifically at this location, they have it down right. I tried this sandwich at a different Carrot and Daikon and it just didn't hit the way it does at this Corona location. Maybe I'm crazy, but if you have never tried this spot, try the Pork Belly here. The pork belly crunch followed by the fat that melts in your mouth, complimented with a slightly sweet and mostly savory sauce. Of course the carrot, Daikon, jalapeno and cilantro with the fresh banh mi make this top notch!! Wowza!

Full disclosure: I'm always suspicious of places that straddle the "fusion" food fence. I find…read more"fusion" usually translates to smothering something in an off-the-shelf international aisle sauce or wrapping it in a tortilla. Now, let me be clear, this restaurant does NOT mention the term fusion - at all. However, their menu whispers, "Hey there..." Crispy pork belly, lomo saltado, spam and egg. And, oh, brothers and sisters, they have gotten as close to paying the proper homage to all fusion cultures as I've seen. SPAM AND EGG: I'm chubby so SPAM is like my kryptonite. I had to have it. This sandwich threw me for a look. I'm used to other places overcooking the spam. NOT so at C&D. The spam was juicy. The fried egg was fluffy. The spicy sauce was genuinly spicy. I loved it so much that I've had it twice in three days. CRISPY PORK: I love the Chinese/Filipino Crispy Pork. The pork was nice and juicy. The skin was crunchy. Really great flavor. The only drawback was my own fault...of eating it cold because I had to eat the Spam and Egg sandwich first. LOMO SALTADO: I've got this sandwich sitting on my counter calling to me, in the queue while I finish my 2nd Spam and Egg Sandwich. I will come back to this review later today to fill in this blank. UPDATE: It was good! The meat was soft and juicy. Not quite the lomo saltado meat or flavor I'm used to or would expect, so the sandwich's name is a little misleading, but the flavor is good nonetheless. VIETNAMESE COFFEE (Large): I liked it. Yep. Not as overly sweet as I'm used to at Mr. Bagguette in LA, and that's a great thing. The only drawback is that it has a caffeine KICK. I felt the caffeine flowing through my veins 10 minutes after I took my first sip. Bread: In banh mi, the bread is the make-or-break. Here, the bread is not your typical medium to hard crunchy exterior and soft interior. The bread is on the softer side on the outside. It is a great change in pace for me because I haven't cut the top palette of my mouth like I usually do with harder bread. AND...that means that the sandwich doesn't lose it's character when I ate the sandwich cold later. STAFF: Very friendly! They are there to serve the customer. I've been greeted with a smile and genuine happiness. Great work C&D. You have a customer!

I got the strawberry shortcake crepe and she got the Dubai chocolate one. Both were amazing! The owner was very kind, patient as we tried to figure out what to order and gave us great recommendations. He did not hold back on any of the toppings! You get a very good amount of fresh strawberries. I love berries and whipped cream so much so this was perfect. I didn't want strawberry sauce so he gave me chocolate sauce. They have a really nice selection of sweet crepes and even some savory crepes. I was surprised to see specialty sandwiches and paninis on the menu as well. Pictures looked good and price point seemed fair. Based on generous serving for crepes, I think the sandwich would have a fair amount of meat. The shop is very clean (bathroom is clean too), and cute decor. The red dining tables are a great pop of color! I think a bold cafe sign would catch more attention. If I was driving then I may have gone by. The design is cute but the type of sign is more for a pop up. I'm not from the area but I'd totally go back and Definitely recommend anyone to grab a bite from here:)

Ice cream was melted quickly as we arrived home, and watery down all over the crepe. Great welcomed service and beautiful ambiance, a great verdict, I need to revisit to try the Dubai Chocolate. That's their new menu at time I was there, it was not available just yet.

Cool little spot that gives east coast vibes with delicious pizza! UPDATE: I love the gnocchi from here! It tastes bomb with vodka sauce. The servings are huge when you dine in but I somehow always end up devouring it even when I say I'm only going to eat half. Just wish their takeout servings were just as generous because it looks like I only get half the portion for pasta (I order the exact same thing every time for reference so I know). Other than that, pizza is always good and so is the service, just need better takeout portions!

I was floored by our "medium" pizza…read more It has been years since we had patronized this place, but I recalled we had had some pretty good pizza pies a decade or more, ago. So, on a whim and the fact that we were already nearby, we went. First of all, Tom's Farm has matured delightfully over the years. The two places to eat offer seating outdoors, on the patio and decking, with large, gracious trees, pretty landscaping, and in full view of a centrally located, charming pond with happy ducks. It is a cute spot that is quite kid-friendly. Weekends there can be frantic, but we came on a weekday, early in the evening, and found it nearly empty. The pizzas here are practically mind boggling. We started with a basic, medium sized cheese pizza for the two of us, then added 3 toppings: sausage, pepperoni, and fresh mushrooms. Since I ordered it over the phone, there was little wait once we arrived. What I was unprepared for was the actual size. This medium pizza dwarfed most medium pizzas I have seen in the past. It was 16" in diameter, and the toppings overflowed on top. There was so much, it was nearly impossible to pick up a slice without lots of topping tumbling back into the box. Such a problem! And the toppings were really good, the sausage in particular getting an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up. I am so picky. Great weather, adorable ambiance, great food, and a cheerful lady at the order window made for a memorable experience. And oh boy, leftovers!

Honestly, this is the Miguel's Jr. of bagels -- and I mean that in the best way. Miguel's Jr started right here in Corona as a small local spot before growing into the beloved franchise it is today, and I genuinely believe Fifth Avenue Bagelry is on that same trajectory. Watching them open new locations around the city already feels like the early stages of something big. Don't expect anything fancy walking in. It's your typical bagel shop, but all the focus goes into the food, and it shows.
