My sister and I were Christmas shopping the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We started our shopping day with lunch at Panera. I ordered the you pick two with potato soup and grilled cheese. The potato soup was nice and hot and packed with flavor. The cream based sauce was yummy and I could taste the bacon. The cheese used on the sandwich was rich and deliscious! This restaurant is a little different than the stores I visit at home in Florida. You are given a vibrator and when it goes off you pick up your order. At home the this is delivered to the table so I waa a little confused at first lol. I added the $.99, pastry, a chocolate chip cookie. It was served warm and was pretty good, although it should have came out of the oven a few minutes earlier as the outside was a little too crunchy. The store was clean including the bathroom. The service was fast and friendly. This was my third or fourth time here and and I've always been satisfied. read more

I love having Panera so close. I'm in their Sip Club and enjoy frequent drinks and pastries. My favorite pick 2 is the Frontega sandwich and onion soup. I also love the Asian salad. It's awesome to have a place that's environmentally and health conscious. They seem to be on top of orders most of the time and working hard to keep it clean. read more

I rarely give a bad review, especially because my world revolves around customer surveys. I have always had a good experience here at Panera. I stopped in yesterday and was appalled by the attitude of the cashier. There was a bit elderly lady in front of me and the cashier was downright rude to her. She also seemed to be training a new employee and was treating her terribly right in front of the customers. Maybe she needs some customer service training. She wasn't much nicer to me. I ate in so i was listening to her from my seat. It was amazing how her attitude appeared to change when two other employees showed up for work. Her attempt at friendliness changed although it was apparent it was fake. As far as the food, it was not as up to par as normal. I ordered a new pizza and it was pretty lukewarm. I did however take my leftovers home and reheated it in my air fryer for dinner and it was very good. Just a little disappointed in one of my usually favorite spots. read more

I told them I was waiting for 20 minutes, and the worker said, well you are suppose to call and let us know u are here. I responded that I did. she said, well we just now got it. I said, well how easy I to know that? I took my bagels and she said, well, that's just how it works. I said, that's not a good enough answer, to which she responded, you are being RUDE. I am appalled at the lack of customer service at this store, and will not be coming back. Oh, I do love you so Panera Bread! Their souffles are amazing for breakfast, their soups and salads are creative and delicious, their sandwiches are big and filling. The iced chai tea latte is so very, very good. Their mac and cheese and pastries are horrible for you, but you don't care because they are so tasty. Get there early for the pastries and bread though, because they can be a little stale towards the end of the day. For a chain restaurant bordering on fast food, Panera is exceptional. I love that they list the calories next to each meal and the free wifi is great. The decor is nice and I really enjoy the fireplace in the winter. read more

Good, fast, competent service. Food can be healthy but don't let the menu fool you- definitely a lot of high calorie options. Definitely always check online at nutrition. Steak and arugula sandwich with pickled onions is my favorite. Chicken noodle soup is good. I love the autumn squash soup when it's in season. I came in around 10:15 a.m. yesterday morning and immediately noticed the thick layer of dust that looked like dog hair mixed with grease on the edges of the display areas...my eyes also noticed the grimy dirty floors that someone for months have overlooked and thought this was acceptable to attempt to clean this floor with a dirty mop which moves around dirt. A filthy floor and corners were gummed up with months of grime and dirt. No one is looking at the jars of dried beans above the cashier or pickup area that are layered with dust and dirt. Clearly no housekeeping is being done by staff or its management. The kitchen as I viewed it from the pickup line was in poor shape with a good layer of grime on the tops of appliances. One would think since this pandemic this place would be sparkling. It gets lots of traffic from truck drivers, and local community but management may run this establishment like their home, in major need of a steam cleaning of the floors, the bathrooms, the furniture, and definitely the kitchen along with the ice machine that may have mold in the bin due to not cleaning it on a regular basis and the drink machines as well. I noticed the glass on the display counters were dirty with fingerprints of patrons from the night maybe days before. Whoever opens and closed the store just doesn't have a check list to mark off what needs to be done to bring this restaurant to an excellent level of acceptance. I've spent my life in a hundred places eating in and dining out and until this place cleans up its act, I won't be back in this one. I'll eat at the Brook Road establishment in Glen Allen. This owner would gain a lot from taking their staff and management to that store to show how an excellent store looks. Sadly, the Ashland store is just a few years old and much newer one than the Brook Road store. Education is the key to training anyone, patience is a virtue, and caring about your work environment is key to being happy with going to work every day. I don't believe the store management has been trained to treat this store like its their own, this is a problem for the owner as he could teach and train his associates and management the joy of being employed in a great place. This store isn't horrible, it's just poorly run and the level of acceptance is extremely low in the eyes of its staff and its owner. My advice, is clean, clean, clean up the place. I didn't go into the restroom because I'm certain the corners of the floors, the fixtures were as bad as the other parts of this store. read more

The Ashland Panera Bread always has wonderful food. The salads are always fresh and the soups and sandwiches are always hot. However, the Ashland Panera has the worst service of any Panera I have been too. The bad service and lack of clean dining room they have is terrible. The only reason I keep coming back is for the food even though I know the service will be less than average. read more

This place is DA DOMB! Today my coworkers placed a group order and my 2 Spindrifts were missing from the order when my coworkers picked it up. I called over to Panera and made sure they knew I had a hankering for some Spindrift and I was disappointed that it wasn't with the order :-( Upon saying this the pleasant young lady who answered the phone sympathized immediately (obviously because everyone knows Spindrift is easily the greatest sparkling water ever created). I asked if I could have the 2 cans of this beverage imbued with deliciousness by the gods delivered and she said she would see what she could do. Just a little later I got a text that they dropped them off at the front desk. This place is yummy and cozy! I like going here for lunch and sometimes breakfast. I order a couple artisan bread loafs for the week at home and eat with slow cooked meals. Panera Bread is a great place for a chain operation. Excellent choices for eating. The choices are healthy also. The Quinoa bowl is deli she, and not high in calories, so that was my selection. My wife had soup, tomato Bisque and it was very good. Chicken was the last order and that made for a nice lunch. For a lite meal, i can suggest Panera Bread over all other quick food restaurants. Panera Bread has great food but this location leaves a lot to be desired. The lady that took my order was not very friendly and they need a better system for food delivery. I was there with 2 small children and had to balance 3 plates of food including bowls and cookies then to attempt drinks was impossible. The children had to go back and get their own drinks because I couldn't leave them or the food at the table alone. The Panera Bread in San Diego delivers your food to the table. read more

The customer service at this Panera Bread is AWFUL. The manager (a blonde lady behind the food preparation counter) has the worst attitude I have ever encountered. I waited in line for 20 minutes today on my to-go order of an iced coffee and a soup and after asking her about my order 20 minutes later she proceeded to tell me that my coffee had been done I said "I don't think that is mine I ordered a large" and she just kept saying repeatedly "that is a 16oz" rolling her eyes at me multiple times and get louder without explaining that the order was clocked in wrong, and then packaged my soup and told me "I just want you to know that you had 7 people in front of you" this is after I watched everyone that had ordered before me leave and my name at the top the preparation list for 10 minutes and what I believe was my order sitting on the back counter for 10+ minutes. A week ago I bought a pastry ring and it was stale and if you want breakfast at this location you might as well forget it because they do not prepare whatsoever. If I could give this location and this "manager" 0 stars I would, PATHETIC. read more

Panara Bread is a good place to eat if you are in the mood for a sandwich ,soup or a quick bite. I think the desserts are over priced for what you are getting. I am a fan of Panera Bread. I enjoy their soups, sandwiches and coffee. Their food has always been consistently fresh and flavorful. My favorite thing to get at Panera Bread has always been their sandwiches as well as their coffee. There are times I just stop in to get a cup and a scone whenever I am at the Ashland Towne Centre, where this particular Panera Bread is located. The one thing I wish they would do is update their interior, it does seem a bit dated. read more
