After staying in the tourist-filled area at the beginning of the trip where we heard way more English than Italian, it was wonderful to be at Vivo with locals, restaurant staff who only spoke Italian, and only have menus in Italian (thankfully by the end of the trip I didn't need Google Translate quite as much). Despite my limited Italian, I managed to order a delicious bottle of red wine, prawn risotto, amberjack tartare, chocolate cake, and tiramisu. Turned out to be one of our favorite meals in Florence! The staff were patient and gracious with my language skills, which were admittedly dulled by fatigue from traveling by train all over Italy.
