Postponed Wedding
Spencer S.

Located Inside RoVino The Foodery, which I believe is an Italian market of sorts with a restaurant and bar. It wasn't quite apparent to me where Pandemic Pizza was posted up within the place, but any employee will be happy to assist you. You order at the register and then wait. There's seating inside or you can take out when your order is ready. These guys donate a portion of every purchase to a different charity each week, so that's a nice little touch. Pizza was super flavorful and left me wanting to go back again ASAP! I tried the Postponed Wedding (tomato sauce, mozzarella, calabrese, pineapple, chiles and ranch). I also tried their black garlic ranch sauce, which is quite literally black in color, but tasted amazing! Pizza was thin crust and a bit messy, so I opted for a fork and knife. I split the pizza with a friend and it was enough for a lunch. If you're super hungry, you can probably eat an entire pie by yourself.

We need such an authentic pizza in Downtown! Finally! This place just opened inside Rovino the foodery on Market St. You can get your pizza take out or dine in outdoor. They have around 6-7 tables outside the place. The place mission matches the name too, lol. $1 of each pizza sold goes to pandemic relief. They have set menu, and they do run specials every week. I ordered the special of the week which was: The funny guy pizza and The Chori Queso pizza Prices are reasonable and will definitely come back again. Tip: Make sure to check in yelp to get %10 of your next order. :)

I know you're thinking, so many pizza options - why Pandemic? First of all, if you love a good New York style pizza, this is where you should go. Second, while fooderies are disproportionately affected by the pandemic, Pandemic Pizza still has charity in mind. They donate $1 per pizza sale to local charities. Third, OMG their wings are everything! The batter is just perfect (not too much nor too little) and the seasoning has my mouth watering even as I type of this review! Fourth, the garlic knots!!! Well they're not your typical 'knots,' more like deep fried dough triangles coated in amazingness and is everything I've been missing my entire life. No joke. I highly recommend you pay them a visit and order the Combo because it's a smashing deal! It comes with a 1 topping pizza, 8 knots, 12 wings. But seriously, 12 wings alone at Wings and Things is like $18...this is a bargain.

This place was very impressive, and this is coming from and east coast pizza eater. Not only is it in a really cool location, it's the right price for the right quality of food. I got a pepperoni pizza, and though it's pretty small, it's packed with flavor. The best part: pepperoni cups!! Very greasy, tasty, with the perfect wood fired char.

This place is located inside the italian market. Not too hard to find and there's lots of employees to ask. I tried the postponed wedding pizza without the pineapple and it was amazing! You also get 10% off for checking in on yelp! They put calabrian chiles on the pizza and add a ranch drizzle and it was amazing! The crust was also cooked really well! They also have a side of black garlic ranch which was the best ranch i've ever had! I wish i could buy bottles of it! Overall loved this place!

Yay! On my first try back into town and i found this pizza place. The pizza is soooooooo zesty and flavorful. Soft and crispy crust. No complaints! This is my new pizza place. Everything is so fresh Its in an authentic Italian market. So many different things to buy in there. The dessert girl talked me into dessert which was good too. I got red velvet cake and the frosting was a unique blend of cream cheese and slight a coconut flavor. It was VERY good. Highly recommend this place. Cant wait to go back and try something else. They got a new regular 10/10

Gross French onion pizza it was so chewy my jaw hurt after one piece

I appreciate the concept but this was some of the worst pizza I've ever had. Yesterday I ordered a margarita, a pepperoni, and a French Onion Pizza to be picked up at 6. I arrived early at around 5:50 so I could pick up some other items from Rovino. I got my pizzas went to my car and immediately dove into the French onion one because I was starving, and it sounded so good. It was more of a thin cracker type crust and it was barely warm. I could tell it had been sitting around a while. The crust was so chewy that after the first piece, I couldn't eat another piece for a while because my jaw hurt after. I don't have jaw problems. Anyway I was picking up the pizzas because I was getting some new tattoo work and I brought the other pizzas to my tattoo artist place to share. Nobody was impressed. The margarita one to me was the only edible one because it had more moisture so the crust wasn't hard as the Rock. The pepperoni pizza had subpar pepperoni I would expect quality pepperoni from an Italian place.

I love what this place stands for and would like them to take all my money. You can find pandemic located inside Rovino the Foodery. Service is quick and fast. I love all their unique specials! I think Elote is my favorite special. I love the crunch of the corn but thoroughly enjoyed the other items too. I would come here every day if I lived closer!

Stopped by to get the Garlic Knots and Pandemic Wings from Pandemic Pizza today. The ordering of food is so efficient, and I got my to-go order to take home. The wings are decadent and have plenty of Parmesan. They were great dipping into the pizza sauce. The wings were an absolutely hit in our house. They have a delicious brown sugar and cayenne seasoning, and are fried until they are golden brown. There are 12 in the order, but clearly I will have to get two orders next time.

I would like to start by saying that I live part time in Naples Italy, the best place in the world for pizza so please know my review was given with very high standards. With that being said I am not exaggerating when I say their stuff is DELICIOUS, ORIGINAL AND THE QUALITY IS AMAZING! I first ordered from them back when the pandemic first started and they were doing deliveries, I also ordered for my friends and family because I loved their pizza so much. The fact that they are donating from their hard earned money to the pandemic relief makes them even more amazing in my book. I also saw that they sometimes donate to the dirt responders of San Diego!! Over all I will always recommend this place to everyone. The best pizza in San Diego if you ask me!!

Buffalo chicken pizza
Cirwan S.

Not only was my food amazing but the service was incredible! I got the Buffalo pizza and instead of cauliflower I added chicken instead! Waleed helped me on making my Buffalo chicken pizza tasty as possible. I sat outside in the beautiful San Diego sun and enjoyed my pizza! By the way $1 from every pizza sold goes to the pandemic relief! Definitely going to stop by here again!

Ok, first off, great name and perfect for this time of life that all of us are going through. Pandemic Pizza is located in RoVino The Foodery and it's such an adorable spot. There's a little market in there, desserts, coffee, Pandemic Pizza, other food items and a bar! Sadly, we didn't get to enjoy any indoor dining but the bar here is so adorable. Once things reopen I'll surely be back. We got two perfectly cooked pizzas. The balance between toppings was perfect and the crust was thing... which equals some of the most perfect Neapolitan style pizza you could ever have! They have some traditional topped pizzas and also some new and creative pizzas. One we had was sort of traditional with pepperoni, sausage and pork belly lardons. It was the Meaty Lovers which is one of their specials. The other was the French Onion... which tasted just like the flavor profile of French onion soup... which is my favorite soup ever! It was amazing! Staff was great and they also donate $1 from every pizza to local organizations and those struggling during this pandemic.

You can tell that Jorge and Raphael are proud of the food they are serving. Our guests not only appreciated the delicious appetizers (quesadillas, elote cups and chips/guacamole) and mains of tacos, rice and beans, they enjoyed the service from these personable gentlemen. I have no idea what to think of this place…read more With all of the high praise I've seen in their reviews, including a number of Yelp Elites, I had very high hopes for a top experience from an established food truck. What I got was terrible on multiple levels. How was Takobar this disappointing? So, full disclosure on how my wife and I came across this place. Takobar was parked at my daughter's Multi-Cultual Festival, serving dinner, at Paloma Elementary in San Marcos. They were there selling entrees alongside a Hawaiian Ice and Sushi Burrito spots. My better half didn't want to risk getting raw fish from a food truck, so we opted for a Carne Asada Tacos Plate. Visually, our food was plated well and had a good spread. There was a good amount of food, plenty of beef, a side of chips and a cup of beans on the side. The onions and cilantro had a nice hand chop to them. And there was a healthy spoonful of guac on each taco. It was a very appealing start. As for taste, the carne asada itself was very dry, as if it had been cooked without any marinade, making the meat loose and crumbly. The cut of the beef was thin, I'm assuming they used slices of flank as opposed to a thicker skirt steak. And it had an overall feel like it had been cooked, then placed into a warmer to further dry out until it was served. The end result was somewhat bland, mealy, and unlike what Carne Asada really should taste and feel like. The Guacamole glopped on top was very thin, almost pureed, and didn't have any of the salt or lime flavors you'd expect from a good guac. I'm under the impression that what little avocado they had had been tossed into a blender and cut with a few cups of water to bulk up the volume to help it last through the entire evening of orders. At most, the best thing I could say was that it was 'somewhat' edible. The chips felt and tasted like they had come from a bag as opposed to being freshly cut and fried in the truck. And those refried beans. Growing up, I had been taught that there were three stages of cooking and serving refried beans. From the final stage of drier beans with scraped pan bits of Manteca concentrated flavor, all the way up to the initial stage of runnier beans where all of the ingredients have been blended together. The Takobar beans didn't even come close to that first stage and were more like a soup. The flavor was ... kind of okay, but I'm pretty sure they had also been mixed with a lot of water to help them go further that night. The thin and liquid end result was something I could easily do a shot of out of their plastic cup. So, yeah ... Takobar was pretty terrible. I am really hoping that this was an off-night, caused by the pressures of catering an entire school's worth of kids and parents. Or maybe a new cook working with too little behind the counter. Regardless, as it was, I have to believe that the bulk of these high marks from people with just a few reviews under their belts are from friends and family. Going to have to go the tastier route and brave the street sashimi next time. A very low two stars from me.

I'm always drawn to inventive seafood tacos, especially when they showcase different preparations, and this spot absolutely delivered. We sampled the blackened swordfish, the estilo Baja white fish (light, crisp, and exactly what you want from a classic), and started with the smoked fish dip all paired with margaritas that were dangerously smooth, more like fresh juice than a cocktail. Nothing missed the mark: from the rich, smoky dip to the perfectly seasoned blackened taco and the satisfying crunch of the fried option, each bite was thoughtfully executed. A detail I loved each order comes with two tacos, making it ideal for sharing and tasting your way through the menu. The freshness of the fish really shines and sets the tone for a proper taco crawl. Though the space is on the smaller side, with limited indoor seating and a cozy patio, it adds to the charm. It's the kind of intimate setting that invites you to linger, people watch, and take in the vibrant artwork that defines Barrio Logan. The staff is quick and detailed with honest feedback. A couple of notes: they're closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and parking is street-only, so plan accordingly. But once you're there, the flavors more than make up for any extra effort.

Walk along the Embarcadero & get a freeze on a hot day, stop by Chilanga's (the best booth there) & get my huitlacoche on. Live music, shade, delicious vendors, right across from the water. I did have a little detour from Chilanga's - while I was waiting for my spouse to park, I sat at a shady table with a woman who was telling me about the poke truck (Island Mike's) & explaining that her coworker ran it as a side hustle, and that the poke was delicious because he had lived in Hawaii. I agonized a bit - get my Chilanga's huitlacoche huarache - or try the poke? I eventually decided: it's Mother's Day, you can have ALL the things, just like at a buffet! So I went to Island Mike's first. They advertised Broke Da Mouth poke - and I was a little suspicious at first - cuz Island Mike's didn't look like a Hawaii native but a mainlander who spent some time there. BUT... I got my poke "island style" (furikake, sushi rice, and the poke - not lots of distractions like seaweed salad or ginger like in the "mainland style") - and it really was off the hook. Really fresh & delicious and perfectly made. YUM & YUM. $12 for one scoop (the smaller size) & very worth it. Of course I still needed my Chilanga's so then I got the huitlacoche huarache (a vegetarian taste of heaven - shredded lettuce, huitlacoche, Mexican cheese on a huarache (masa dough) & tried the mango passion fruit agua fresca. The huarache is huge and I'd already had the little poke, so I took most of it home to eat later. But it was just as yummy as I remembered. And the agua fresca is amazing. I'll still crave Chilanga's but now I'll crave Island Mike's too. I need to get down here more often because it is a super fun outing that is too good to waste on tourists!
