Price to high food is mediocre it really just a basic boring buffet really not worth it at all

My family and I went here about 3:45 on a weeknight. Most of the food was pretty good. The stuffed shrimp wasn't. Tasted like it had been in someone else's mouth! They started putting signs in front of certain dishes and calling it dinner. So a up charge if you decided to get it. I normally don't do starches on a buffet, but I tried the chicken fried rice and it was real good. Some of the workers were actually eating when we were. My only complaint is the price. It was $61 and change before tip for 3 adults and one kids buffet and we all opted for waters as our beverage. We will probably stick to sakura in McDonough as they have sushi and hibachi grill for less $$$$ read more

The building was very clean and the service was great, there was a massive selection of food but.... the food was dry to the point that it was hard to chew, the highlights would be the ice cream, rice noodles, fried okra, general tsos chicken, overall I felt like it was on the steeper side of price when it comes to buffets. read more

My wife and I went there for the first time tonight on a Sunday and I have to say IT IS THE WORST FOOD I HAVE EVER ATE all of the food we got was cold and had a weird taste and we didn't eat very much at all and we both felt bad for the rest of the night . Another surprisingly ok spot if you're craving a Chinese buffet. The food was ok. Amazing spring rolls and bread. The lemon pepper wings were pretty flavorful. I'd have to take off for the cleanliness of the mens bathroom (it was trash everywhere). The worst meal I have ever had. The food was overcooked and cold. I tried 1 piece of most items and only actually ate 1 of them. The rest was one bite and done or had to spit out as gracefully as possible. The lo mien and crab (which was imitation) were only to edible items. I did not try the desert tray. Not another review that begins "As far as buffets go..." Let's be specific: "As far as a $7.79 lunch consisting of the opportunity to try dozens of American Chinese dishes goes, this is five-star." As the ancients teach us: A great Chinese lunch buffet will have something gross in it. It should have many mediocre things in it. It will offer a precious few wonderful experiences, yet only to those who persevere. Only by expecting to be offered no desserts whatsoever, could such desserts be appreciated. Perhaps the same could be said of life, eh? As you slide your plate past the steam trays of opportunity, may the tenacity of your hunger carry you through the drudgery of quotidian dishes. May the spirit of your curiosity lift you each time you fall into a puddle of grody slop. In this way, your mind and mouth will remain open to the morsels of greatness which lie hidden between despairs. These were steps along my path: Teriyaki Chicken - Decent quality cuts of grilled chicken, not fatty or dry. If you ordered from a place that specialized in teriyaki and they brought you this, you would eat the whole thing and throw the styrofoam box in the trash and never think of it again. Stuffed Shrimp - These looked like shrimp tails protruding from clumps of grainy cookie dough. They tasted like lumps of rotting sausage mixed with grits, and were reprehensible. Pineapple Shrimp - You've had this at a buffet before. It's usually labeled "coconut shrimp," and one time you saw what appeared to be a softball-sized hunk of sweet mayonnaise sitting unmelted on the top. Here, they put a bit of pineapple in it. It is fried shrimp in creamy and vaguely-sweet goo, so it made up the majority of at least four of my plates. Mongolian Beef - Now we're talking. This is one dish guaranteed to be bad at a buffet. More often than not, it should be called "Lighter Fluid Beef." Not at the Panda Bear. Here, the fatless cuts are tender and very lightly coated before cooking. The flavor of carmelized onions harmonizes with the surprisingly good beef. Pepper Beef - Satisfying leaves of tender beef combined dance with a medley of bell pepper flavors. Jalepeno Chicken - Mostly salt and a bit of heat. General Tsos - Slightly under average in flavor. Just sweet and a bite of heat. Sesame Chicken - Offers only sweetness and cornstarch. Honey Chicken on a Stick - This is well-browned without being too dry. The "browned" flavors of a nicely executed Malliard reaction play well against the sweetness, which is pleasant and natural although not like honey. Chicken Tenders - A little dry, but solid and well-fried. If you're ten years old, head over to the salad-greens section and grab some ranch for these. Then see if you can get the real bacon bits to stick to the ranch. Crab Rangoon - The wrapper tasted like paper. The filling has an off-taste, and may be comprised of nondairy creamer mixed with cream cheese. There is no crab whatsoever. "Crab" rangoons are almost never good at buffet, but these manage to crawl under a very low bar. Seafood Melt - The fake crab they use is a bit mushy, but there's lots of it with cheese and it is not sitting in a lake of oil. Crab Bites with Bacon - Perfectly cooked crisp bacon wrapped around morsels of adequately flavorful but oddly textured fake crab fingers. Hot Wings - Tossed in something quite like Frank's Red Hot, and tasty. Lemon Pepper Wings - Amusing tangy flavor on nicely crisped fried wings. There may be four other varieties of wings waiting for you, all good. Chocolate Pudding - Generic and boxed and as bad as you expect. Mandarin Slices - Soft citrus goodness without having to open those tiny cans. Banana Pudding - Real slices of overripe banana sit at the bottom of a layer of generic pudding, mingling with off-brand Nilla wafers that aren't stale. Of the 5 grades of foodservice "shaving cream white stuff" used in place of whipped cream - this is level 4 quality. Vanilla Ice Cream - At some point in life, you learn that the "ice cream machine" in a Chinese buffet is simply a form of decoration. This ice milk will help to teach you, if you still try it every time like I do. read more

I'm dropping a 1 for ONE reason. I enjoyed my food and forgot I had a few bucks stuffed in my shirt pocket. I was finishing putting my card away and standing up, not leaving a tip on card because I know that it's not really given to the waitress or waiter. As i'm standing up, the waitress stands right next and says "no tip?" I was planning on saying no because it really upset me the way she asked me, but decided to be polite and gave her the $3 I found in my pocket. The very first time I came me, my dad and brother stood up and left a $5 tip and before we could even walk away she dashed for the table and grabbed the tip QUICKLY. There's always flys in the building where they do absolutely nothing for them. The food isn't bad and they're quick with service but it really bothers me when a waitress or waiter rudely goes for tips like that. read more

We've been going to Pandabear for years and it's always been really good, until our visit last week. Boy, have things changed since the last time we were there several months ago! For starters, instead of having nice drumettes and wings, EVERY chicken selection had a drumette with the meat all at one end, with naked bone the rest of the way down. It looked and tasted like they were cooked for so long, the chicken actually shrank to the top of the bone. Very dry and tasteless! Even their lemon pepper wings (now just these ugly, dry, overcooked drummies) had very little lemon pepper seasoning. There was literally 1 beef selection on the entire buffet. We got there around 1pm, when everything should be hot and fresh. (like others, we know when not to go there to avoid old, dried out food!) About 1/2 of the buffet pans were either empty, or very little left. I got the last Calif roll. So we paid full price for half the selections. Seems to us that they've either gotten a new manager or owner that is doing what they can to cut costs. I guess they've never heard the saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Doubt we'll be back anytime soon! Based on other comments, other people have noticed the same. Hope they turn it back around, otherwise they may not be in business much longer. It's a shame because it really was a great buffet! UPDATE! we gave it one more shot. We pulled into the parking lot at lunchtime and it was empty, not a good sign. We went in and I'm pleased to say the food was back to normal. They must have had enough complaints to turn it back around. read more

Three months ago I had a bad experience and told myself no more. However, I was craving Chinese food the other night and went there again. It was awful. Everything was cold. They no longer have the butterflied shrimp. I guess what they have now is cheaper. They do not put out fresh food. Some of looked like it had been there since lunch. I'm from out of town, but my family likes to stop here for lunch during the work week. I've tagged along a couple of times and decided to write a review. There is a very good selection at this buffet including: fried foods, pot stickers, vegetables, soups, salads, desserts, and even sushi (which I didn't try because I'm super picky about crab and avocado). Ate at Panda Bear Griffin, GA Jan 27, 2014 at 3PM. All the food was cold, not warm just cold. Most items had a odd off taste, yukie. In short it was a very bad meal. The ice cream was ok. The Sizzling Rice Soup was greasy and had mock seafood in it, should be chicken and not greasy. The only two thing I would even think of trying again was the pan fried potatoes and ice cream. I do not reccomend this to anyone, even if you are hungry. read more

Desserts are terrible. Stick with the ice cream and fruit. Salad and soup bars are great. Sushi bar is meh, but edible. The meats are good to me. Also like the fact that you can get steak and wings. The crab casserole is amazing! The hot and sour soup is the best on Griffin. The shrimp is kind of scary. Not deveined so there's poop in them, but um yeah. So anyway other than that. Horrible services. I have been eating here for years now. I can probably count how many workers they changed over the years. The nice waitress and cashier does not last long, but the bad ones always do. I think the boss need to be more responsible for their workers and keep eyes on them. I ate here last week, an mid-age waitress was being rude to the costumers by heavily dropping the plates into the cart... I was scared..
